    I'm sorry that your experience was not good and having gone through what you have, I'm sure I would lose a lot of trust in a product as well. I have had a Hensley hitch since 2001 with a 4" drop and it has over 75000 miles on it. at around 65000 I did a refurbish on it, with new paint, bearings, seals and weight bar bushings, Total about $250.00. I have looked at the propride and have friends that own it and the adjustable stinger is a nice feature, however I don't believe that it has any more or less strength than a properly welded non adjustable stinger. Personally I'm 100 percent sure that both are #1 in the industry. Which one you chose is a personal preference. I own the Hensley only because I like the strut bars better over the yoke. The strut bars, I believe have a better fail safe (replaceable shear bolts) that is easier to fix on the road when or if something should happen to them. The Propride yoke will usually break and it will need welding or replacement before continuing on your way.

  • @sellerbrake

    We have loved our Hensley for many years. It's a very safe hitch, and drive-wise I would give it the top rating of anything I have towed with and compared over the years. The welds on my unit and stinger are beautifully done, but it is an older unit and a 2" drop. Maybe with a large drop, bolts could be added?

    • @dustytrailsrvn6281
      @dustytrailsrvn6281 2 месяца назад

      Thank you for the response. Yes, we believe that the older models are very reliable. We still think the combination of the new welds and the 4" drop are the cause of the issue.

    I use an app called Severe Weather Alerts to make sure I get any alerts. That said, if we're in an area of active or likely rotation, we use Radar Omega and watch not only reflectivity, but also the velocity couplets and correlation coefficient. That will give you the information you need to determine if you are truly in harms way or not (don't rely on any third party when it comes to your safety). NWS misses tornados all the time (just happened to a friend of mine in Newburgh Indiana - NWS said "it's just a cold air funnel" when it was an F1 tornado). We were just in a campground in Virginia last week, and were under multiple tornado warnings, so we pulled up Radar Omega to track the cells in detail. The campground said their bathouse was the place to go, so we were prepared to go to that (with our dogs) which wasn't too far from our RV. If there was no where else to go, we would have gone into our truck and hunkered down in a safe a spot as possible that we could find. While debris is a potential concern, it would take an F4 to topple our F450. Stay alert and aware for sure. We're in the Outer Banks right now.
