I am trying to get Ashes running on my Fedora 40 laptop but am having an issue. I followed everything on the forum posts and stuff in your videos but everytime I press login I get an error that I can't authenticate to IS cloud services. I have the urlmon rule, its set to windows 7, my nvida drivers are up to date. Im at a bit of a loss and would love your thoughts <3

was this on win or linux?

Great, thanks for the vid. I saw the explanaton on the forums, but having a visual helps. I was able to get the game started, but it freezes every time it starts to load the game environment (past character selctor). I'll keep messing with it, honestly im pretty stoked i got this far. If i get it going i'll be wiping my win partition.

An issue I encountered: I had Steam (Flatpack) which makes strange shortcuts to the AOCClient.exe. I strongly recommend not to use the flatpack version, because otherwise the "Settings.Json" from EasyAntiCheat cannot be found and EAS will block the boot process. Besides this: Everything is working perfectly for me now (on Linux Mint ), thanks for the guide! :D

so im having trouble with what to put on steam. all im able to put in is the installer download for the game but i dont think thats right. can someone explain how to get AOC client.exe?

I was having an issue with launcher screens initially being blank. They were functional, as in I could click on buttons at which point they would redraw correctly. I was able to work around this by running the launcher in a virtual desktop. Fedora 41 Kinoite

Stirling work, I hope they don't actively block and more enthusiasts like yourself are able to get it working seamlessly with Linux. By October next year, I'm hoping to be Windows free but still want to be playing this game.

You're a saint! I was getting ready to do all the hard work myself but I decided I might as well search around and see what people had already tried. I never expected someone would have already made a concise and accurate guide already! Also, at least for me, this method still works as far as I can tell for the launcher. The server isn't obviously up yet so we'll see how that goes tomorrow.

Is this method still working for you this week? I get the installer going but the game doesn't launch. The "Launch" button changes to "Game Starting" but then it seems like the game crashes and the button resets to "Launch" after 15ish seconds.

The problem is that there's a red bar when I click sign in, and it removes the password field. I suspect it is some cloudflare box thing but such a gui doesn't pop up

Something to keep in mind is faction. From Ally POV, I concur with your words. However, from Horde side, AOE heals are Shaman territory. Priests, regardless of spec, can't touch Chain Heals. That said, priests are designated as more single target heals.
