Awesome vinyl collection! I love your room
good jazz finds ben!!
Thanks Dave!
My favorite bands are Faces, (there is no “the” in Faces) and Generation X… great video, also check out the band SilverHead, I am also a big Mott the Hoople fan, very underrated band in North America. Love the channel!
Have you heard On Through The Night by Def Leppard. It was the one before High N’ Dry. I never got into Iron Maiden. I just don’t think they have the songs. When Keith Moon died I think the Who made a mistake with their choice of Kenny Jones as a replacement. I understand why it happened but I think the perfect choice would have been Rat Scabies from the Damned. Led Zeppelin ruled the 70s. They were the first band to do a tour of playing stadiums. Great list.
Yes, On Through the Night is great too. Definitely more raw. Guitar work is great but vocals are definitely better on High N Dry. Wow never even thought of Rat to replace Keith. That would’ve been a cool fit. I definitely should’ve made some room for The Damned on this list. Thanks Rich!
@@bensvinyljukeboxthe only drummer that has ever reminded me of Moon was Mark Laff from Generation X, I know that won’t be a popular choice but that’s my honest take…
Agree. Overall UK bands top US bands. On the other hand, US solo artists top UK solo artists.
Mott the Hoople along with T-Rex (and Electric Warrior in its entirety is one of my number 1 albums); Sweet (once The Sweet); Gary Glitter; Slade; Wizard-these glam, or glitter rock, bands, wanted to make the crossover to the States, but American promoters said no, nope, not happening. Several bands were told to clean up their acts, such as Marc Bolan (who did do some interesting👀 things with his guitar), and they were also told that it wasn’t the kind of music happening in America, so they ended up short shifted. But songs like Jeepster; Get it On (Bang a Gong); Rock and Roll Part 2; All the Young Dudes, sure; Mama We’er All Crazee Now were very well known in the U.S. And then…there was David Bowie. The Pistols and the Clash were good calls, some great musicians, but the whole Sid and Nancy debacle essentially sunk the Sex Pistols, which yes, was unfortunate. The Clash were great musicians, great albums, great songs. Later on, Ian Hunter’s solo album You’re Never Alone With A Schizophrenic saw a lot of AOR success in the States. Last, the Beatles vs. the Stones? Theodora Richards and I used to tag team browbeat, harass, stop just short of whacking innocent people over the head for having the gaul to even hint the Beatles were better than the Stones. Because they weren’t. More, I couldn’t care less about the Beatles and their music, but it irked me how loaded they’d got off their fans, and wouldn’t do even one tour just to say thanks?! Please. All four were around long enough to say thank you. We’re all rich af now, so see ya. In 97 different ways the Stones blew the Beatles away.😛
David Bowie didn’t have a hit in the US until Fame. The Sex Pistols and Clash didn’t really sell very well in the US. The Stones have lasted for decades but the fact is they never had the impact that the Beatles had. I would argue The Beatles and Bob Dylan changed music in the 60s.
I saw someone called out Corey on twitter for his lazy signature and he admitted it sucked. Met him once in 2019 and he gave me a nice signature with an 8 included.
Ha glad he can admit it at least!
Is it okay to frame signed vinyl with the record inside the frame?
I always have a fear that hanging the record like that would lead to warping over time.
Great list. I did this myself... so it's great to see other people go at it. Well done. Cheers
Thanks! 🤘
Nice room and collection of LP"s.
lol, I had that problem with losing count all the time also. Great to see a lot of 90s bands. I had a lot 80s bands, depends on age and what we listen to
Pretty good list. I would have the Allman Brothers Band. Crosby, Stills, Nash, and that Canadian guy Neil Young, Talking Heads, Maybe the greatest Hard rock vocalist Ronnie James Dio, and most of your list.
I tried to stay away from solo artists. Would’ve definitely had a few of those in my list if I included them. 👍
very cool i love it tanks
UK bands deeeestroy our bands in America. Here are my top US bands. The Doors, Beach Boys (minus mike love bozo), Talking Heads, War on Drugs, Night Moves, Phantogram, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Journey, Jefferson Airplane/starship, CCR!!!, i am including the Roots even though they are hip hop, Prince and the Revolution, RHCP, Santana, Van Halen, GNR. Aerosmith. I think ya gotta include Bruce Springsteen even though he can be a solo artis or part of a band. I wouldn't even put Aerosmith in my top 20, Honorable mention. MGMT is a duo but I gotta include them somehow. Also , i hate the freaking Eagles man!! but yeah they deserve a spot in the top 25. I had to edit this because I forgot two bands. The Pixies deserve a spot in top 25 but Modest Mouse is one of my favorite bands of all time. I think they are top 3 all time behind the Doors if i had to do a ranking list. Crap I forgot weird azz steely dan. I cringe listening to some of their stuff, however they are worthy as a duo, maybe not a full band.
Awesome list!! Dropping a top UK bands list as one of my next videos. It’s crazy how we’re making one of these list. You have to acknowledge some bands for their greatness even if they are not your favorites. I feel like a favorite 25 US bands list would look a little different for everyone.
Good rock band list.
Some of my favourite's from older artists other than what you have already mentioned. Tears For Fears - Tipping Point Winger - Seven Extreme - Six David Gilmour - Luck & Strange The Black Crowes - Happiness Bastards Sebastian Bach - Child Within The Man Peter Gabriel - i/o The Cult - Under The Midnight Sun Queensryche - Digital Noise Alliance Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raise The Roof
All great and recent! The past year has been amazing for older rock artists!
Power Up is amazing, best AC/DC album since Razor's Edge imo I always loved KISS's Monster since it came out, great album imo The new Bon Jovi album is also really good, their best since the 2000s I'd say
Kiss Monster had a few good tracks, but I always go to Sonic Boom if I'm listening to newer Kiss.
@bensvinyljukebox I'm kinda the other way around.... Sonic Boom is good but Monster kinda took me by suprise ... but albums I think get more flack than they deserve for sure
I have been trumpeting the fact that that Vinyl playback is the biggest ripoff in the Audio Playback industry for the past ten years!! Scratched used records for 20-30 bucks!!? Sonically inferior to CD’s, and the expense of turntables, cartridges and the isolation extras needed to optimize the format makes it super wasteful as well!!! Not one of my used CD’s costs more than 5 bucks, with new releases costing just about the same as they did during CD’s heyday!! Less space, unaffected by minor scratches and sonically superior, anyone buying vinyl in 2024 should have thier head examined!!!
WOW!!! This room is awesome. I actually am moving houses and this house I’m moving to has a finished basement that I plan to turn into my music room. This gave me a lot of inspiration, so thank you!!! I hope my room will look as cool as yours when I get done with it!
That’s awesome!! Good luck you your room! 🤘
🤷🏼♀️promo 45s were sent to record stores? I have gotten many promo 45s at flea markets but wondered where people got them if they weren't sold in stores. I recently found a John Conley promo 45 at a flea market and wondered where they bought it if not sold in stores 🤷🏼♀️ could you please help me understand where a promo was bought back in the day. 🙂Thank you
be aware disc rot
Good picks for Halloween 🎃

The Vinyl “Jukebox”…Well I almost had to subscribe. I believe I’m sub# 5-”69”…giggity. Nice room and gear. Love those big Sony CD units. The Jukebox in my profile pic is the last Rowe/AMI to play 45’s and the 1st to play CD’s. Good ol Pioneer 6-disc doing the job inside. It was the end of an era…I’m glad this hobby keeps the past alive…🍻

I literally don't want anything this year. RSD Black Friday 2024 officially sucks 👎
You don't like rock music?
@SDsailor7 I love great rock music. This lists is an absolute borefest.
@@brandonio_granger Well there is a great band in that list that you would might like but it looks like no one in the vinyl community knows. They are called the Warning. The album on that list is a reissue of their album ERROR that I want to get. I have the original. The band has a worldwide following. Check out their music, and you will be pleasantly surprised. I recommend the Pepsi center CDMX live concert 2023. It's here on RUclips.
@brandonio_granger Unfortunately the Warning was not even mentioned.
limp didik whack as it gets
I’m still down on the RSDBF24 list but there’s still time for it to grow on me….and that Limp Bizkit tee is TOUGH! Did you get to see the “Loserville” tour this summer?
Thanks dude!! I got it a couple years ago on the Still Sucks tour at MSG. Still can’t believe he had lined MSG. Top sections were curtained off, but still. Not my favorite RSD list but definitely some cool titles in there. I did also notice that they took a bit of a step back on the Christmas/holiday titles (especially when it came to picture discs). A good choice there for sure.
@@bensvinyljukeboxI noticed that you did not mentioned the Warning ERROR reissue album. The Warning are a rock power trio that have a worldwide following. If you would like to come out their music check out the live Pepsi center concert in Mexico city to get an idea, who knows you might even like their music. Cool synopsis of RDD black Friday. Was hoping of a mention of the Warning album.
Steve Martin is a WORLD CLASS banjo player. The song King Tut is a novelty song however.
Oh yeah I remember hearing that from somewhere. Thanks for reminding me!
I’m definitely looking forward to RSD! ☺️
cool jazz finds, ben, Oliver Nelson, Milt Jackson, count basie!!
Thanks Dave! All great albums!
This guy knows his shit!!!
I also decided to step back on vinyl recently, for the same reasons as you. In fact, I stopped buying records completely. CDs are a great compromise between convenience, great sound quality (as good as, or maybe even better than vinyl, if they’re well mastered) and price. The folks manufacturing and selling vinyl should really pay attention to their prices, if they keep rising, they’re going to end up killing the format.
Thanks for sharing your collection and space. Wonderful collection and wall art. Greg
Thanks Greg!
Fun tour. Thanks my friend!
Thanks!! Your room is always one of my favorites! I always look forward to your yearly updates. 🤘

@@diaz20319 thanks!! Whoops whoop!🤘
I just bought my 600th CD today. 500 of those were bought in the last year. I had more but they were stolen/damaged/lost over the years. I rip every one of them to a HDD in FLAC lossless and stream them using Plex and Plexamp...great for casting to my system using my streamer, when out using the phone and in the car! I also play them using a vintage 90's high end Sony ES CD player digital out to a nice DAC and high end system. If cared for CD's can last a century and sound amazing until then. I feel like they will be valuable again one day as the old collections are trashed or recycled but I don't buy to collect. I only buy ones I actually listen to.
