As of November 2024, the MBTA owned 109 locomotives. Of these, 87 were in active passenger service. Any idea what that horrible creaking sound the train was making is? It was very common to hear that sound before the type 7’s were overhauled, but as I rode on the overhauled trains, I noticed some were still making that horrible creaking noise. I would’ve thought that the overhaul would had fixed that, perhaps I was wrong. 😂

Another fouled piece of crap. Does not sound like 1053’s horn unlike the testing. Have to find out when it’s at a crossing which horn it is.

At the first crossing, interesting to see the gate having that pole support on the end open during the summer; usually the railroad opens them on the winter, so the gates don't sag too much from the ice and snow.
