Are these lifts still made in the USA? I was told the company was sold and they are now made in China. If that’s the case, does anyone still make an American made 4 post lift?

looks like a great lift, I was impressed by several videos!! However, at the end of the day, after 40 years of standing (mostly crouching) under a variety of lifts, now that I'm mostly retired ... I appreciate the comfort of seeing the ALI label ... I agree with paying for what you get and would gladly pay a little more for my home garage in retirement, as I still turn wrenches for my neighbors and friends. Long story short, I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a mohawk lift for a retirement side hustle .... Just spend the couple of bucks to get your lift certified by ALI, relative to potential sales, this seems like a no-brainer ... You can't get municipal supplier contracts, county, state or federal unless you're certified ,,, so I don't understand why you wouldn't just simply consider investing in ALI certification as a win and an opportunity to sell to a much broader market?? What do I know, other than I would buy this lift today if it was certified.

I like the idea of buying American when it's a better product. I am seriously considering a Backyard Buddy lift because I think they have a great design...but not because the steel is better, which it is not... This video is a bit of a turn off...

For all the young people out there that do not know who Sam is let me give you a little information. Sam and his friend and co-host David were the original TV show on car repairs. They actually gave you and showed you how to do a repair. they did not have episodes that were nothing but infomercials pushing some product. To show used to be called shade tree mechanic. It used to come on Saturday and Sunday mornings on the Nashville channel. The Nashville channel would also run fishing shows on how to. Eventually the Nashville channel was bought by another company they changed the name of the TV show and after that it wasn't much about the work but the product that the sponsor wanted to see used on an episode. I learned a lot from watching the original show. I was a shade tree mechanic. Back then most of my friends were all professional mechanics. And when I talked about taking my car someplace to have work done on it they would laugh at me. They would come over and show me how to do brakes engine repairs I even pulled the rear end out of my mustang all by myself. I never missed an episode of Sam's original show. They would show you tricks on getting things done quickly and the right way. After all the years of watching his show having my friends help me learn how to work on my own cars. I would buy a repair manual for every car that I had bought after being educated by my friends and TV shows. I still remember the time that on a Saturday after fishing pulling my boat back home that I blew the head gasket on my pickup truck. Once I was home and figured out there I blew my head gasket I reached for my repair manual. I told my girlfriend at the time that we had to stay in that night so I could read my book. The very next day I was out there in my driveway taking every thing apart until I got to the head and block. By that time it was dark out. Thank goodness for the dark. When I was telling my friends what had happened and what I was doing that's when they told me to have the head checked. at that time I did not understand why I should. So back then we had telephone books and if you want it to find a service you had to look it up. So I found a machine shop dropped off the head and sure enough it was cracked. Meanwhile my father wanted me to have my truck towed out of the driveway and send it to the scrap yard. He said you will never get this thing running again that you have most of the engine in plastic totes. Picked my head up from the machine shop once the new one came in and bright and early on a Saturday morning I started putting my truck back together. The next morning I had a few little things to finish up. I watched my episode of shade tree mechanic and afterwards I went out to my driveway finished up all the little things and turned the key and my truck started up immediately just like it used to. I was so excited that I woke my father up and instead of him being mad that I woke him on his only day off he told me he was proud of me for getting that done. After that whole experience there wasn't much that I would not try to fix after that. I started helping other friends that did not know how to work on their cars or did not have the tools to do so. I always remembered how proud my father was of me. That is exactly how I raised both of my sons. To show them that I am proud when they complete something. By the way I must have done something right with my sons. They are 4 years apart in age and both of them straight out of high school join the United States Marine corps. I'm sorry for leaving such a long response. I just wanted to share my experience that I have had in life and to talk about Sam who is a good man that I had the privilege of meeting at a car show a hundred years back -). I also wanted people to know that you can learn to work on your own vehicles. I actually bought my repair manual for my Harley-Davidson right after I ordered it. I knew I was going to work on it and do the maintenance myself. So after placing my order for my bike the salesman asked me if I wanted to pick up other things. I told him I wanted the repair manual the shop version. Since my bike was the next model year and would take 6 months to come they had to order the manual. When it showed up I spent the winter reading through it like someone would read a novel. After taking delivery of my bike I performed all the maintenance on it from day one and to this day continue to work on it whenever it needs to be worked on. Engines no matter what size and shape I'll have the basic principle of air spark and fire. Did the exact same thing when I bought a family boat with inboard motors. I have even learned to work on any piece of lawn equipment out there. Sam and his show and the support of my friends and my father gave me the confidence to go out there and do what needs to be done. I will definitely look into buying one of these lifts once I get some more information on dimensions and see what needs to be done to install one. Again I apologize for such a long response.

With tax and delivery they are over $7k. Look it up. I'd rather have a Chinese product that does the same work that I can afford than one I have to go in debt for just because it's made here.

You may not like the guy or what he says but 40+ years in engineering tells me that this is in fact a superior design to many others on the market, it's good enough for me to use some of the features in my own private lift which is in the design stage now.
