I just wanted to thank you, I was sick, not with the virus but with my conscience, because I didn't want to consume nihei's works through other media and just through reading. and it ended up that I was becoming more and more isolated and alone. There was a night when I even cried from loneliness But when I saw your channel I saw that I can consume this content not to clear up doubts about Nihei's works, because I like them, but to share and talk to people who also love Nihei as much as I love him. The beginning of volume 1 is in fact the end of the manga, it's the continuation of volume 6, Cibo and the dog (which is indeed Cibo as indicated in an OVA that simplified the story) corresponds to the last version of Cibo that was in the netsphere at the end of volume 6, we're in a more distant era, at least 12 years according to the kid's age (but since Killy traveled with the sphere, we could add decades), so it's logical that Cibo is an adult again, and different (we saw that with the alterations, her version from volume 6 reappeared with differences due to her memory loss). For the dog, for me it's the puppet that welcomed her when she was in the netsphere, she was a recreational AI and no longer had a purpose as she was the last human, the others being in eternal sleep. The wolf is modified, so it would be logical to think that it's a creation into which the recreational AI program has been placed, which would explain why the wolf behaves like a human, and why it's Cibo's companion, dog = new puppet recreational ai.

What about the Nihei entry into the Halo Graphic Novel? That's how I found him anyway. His paintings of the flood are insane

1) Elevator guy says they're traveling 6,780 kilometers, which is the diameter of Mars. That's what freaked out the builders to make that rogue area that Dhomochevsky is in. They builders were only prepared to build in empty space, so they freaked out when they hit Mars & created that weird pseudo area that Dhomochevsky's in, which is why it has all these halfway measures everywhere. Halfway connections to the rest of the city, but also halfway security, which is what the silicon life in that area are trying to exploit. 2) Nihei's notes say that Killy's partner is a woman (the wolf lady) who has an animal companion (the wolf). Dhomochevsky has a partner that is a woman (Iko) who has an animal companion (the fish). They are something of parallels in that regard

Chapter 7 is a weird interpretation of the real life reproduction cycle of the deep sea Lantern Fish (fish in the deep sea are weird & practically like from another planet). For YEARS the lantern fish had confused scientists because every specimen they captured was female, but some had some weird bumps on them. They kept searching for male species of the Lantern Fish until one day a scientist made the shocking discovery, the little bumps WERE the males of the species. When spawned the baby fish are like tadpoles, very small & easily eaten by predators. Eventually the female tadpoles grow into large lantern fish, but the males stay small. So how do they procreate? What happens is the males fuse their entire bodies into the females, and that's how they share their genetic information somehow, the females spawn tons of eggs & the cycle begins again. It's very off putting to realize it happens in these weird deep sea fish, but in this chapter Nihei draws a story where the same life cycle is repeated but the fish are depicted as human like (and the female is a giant), it is even more disturbing.

The Gravity Engine in Toha Heavy Industries was weird. You thought that parallel dimensions just exist everywhere, and that's how you meet alternate dimension Cibo, but Toha has a portal to them but that is not the case. Toha's broken Gravity Engine is CREATING alternate dimensions (along with warping time & space), alternate dimensions exist nowhere else besides it's giant engine room area. Once Killy fixes the Gravity Engine with his Gravity Beam Emitter, resetting it to default settings, everything in the engine room gets pushed out and no more alternate dimensions. It was quite interesting. Also AI programs, like Sanakan and some authority figures, would gain personality over time and just become more human. The main authority that allows Sanakan to come back one more time only gave her this permission because it had become more human with its advanced personality. It was also interesting to see that the Safeguards were doing their best to copy Cibo & Killy, creating agents that look just like them, in an effort to stop Killy, and obviously making their own personalities.

Chained up old guy with little girl Sanakan was probably the only "survivor" of the tribe of people that Sanakan left alive after she killed the rest of the tribe, to use him as bait to lure Killy / Cibo. It turns out that at this point Sanakan's goal was to kill the master AI inside Toha Heavy Industries to allow safeguards inside to kill the people inside Toha's many caves. He has a heart attack & dies after seeing Sanakan again because he knows she's a monster that killed his tribe.

1) Child at very beginning was said to have clean genes except chromosomes 9 & 10 (humans have 23 chromosomes), so he was a "close but not quite" match. 2) "Silicone life" are called that because they are also silicone based life forms, as opposed to humans (and all other organic life on earth) which are carbon based. In reality any silicon based life would be kind of weak, as the bonds formed with silicon are like cardboard compared to the bonds made by carbon which are strong like steel. The reason for life being carbon/silicon based is because they can make FOUR strong bonds, much more so than other elements. This allows carbon/silicone to be the basis of complex molecules and therefore life. 3) Killy is seen "hacking" that bug / vehicle, and later uses it as a distraction to rescue the kid, in the same way that Killy hacks builders and has control over them. 4) Girl with the wolf is said to be another high level agent of the authority like Killy or Sanakan 5) In one of the side comics that is recreation of 2017 Netflix movie, Sanakan scans killy and identifies his body as "megastructure", which is the super hard shell between levels of the city that can't be penetrated without GBE. Killy was said to be created/modified so long ago that he's not even in the current database of the Netsphere, created by systems that are no longer even there. 6) Chapter 6, right around when you see the first builder, lady mentions that people don't even know what the words that appear in their retinas are. This implies that these people have heads up displays in their eyes, but have long since lost the ability to even read what is written. Later you meet Kumoi and Yaki, and Kumoi says he never sees letters in his eyes, implying he comes from a people who were never modified to have HUDs in their eyes. In the next chapter it is established that those who do carry Net Terminal Genes CAN see these letters in their eyes, though Killy is looking for somebody with untainted Net Terminal Genes he also meets several people who don't even have these genes. 7) Killy's machine to communicate with the builders seems to use binary Code. Later Cibo wants to know what language Killy uses to communicate with the builders, so she can control them too, implying everybody has forgotten about binary coding since then. 8) The girl with the third eye tattoo Killy saves in Chapter 8 is one of the of the Dry Bodies tribe, later in the same chapter you see she is one of the bodies being smuggled. It is also thought that the Dry Bodies tribe may be an offshoot of silicone life, or perhaps an humans modified by silicon life, as the eye tattoo of the girl resembles the silicone life eye symbol.

not bad. need one single live action that recaps all the works of nihei in one opera. to simple it up and make it accessible

Texhnolyze is probably the most literary anime that has come out of Japan. At least to my knowledge.

i really liked Ubel Blatt even tho some think it's less great than Berserk or Claymore the interesting thing is it don't shy away from treating other humans as more messed up and monstrious than monsters themselves, while Berserk might play with the idea of that whoever fight monsters should be wary of turning into one, actually in Ubel Blatt it shows that humanity is already messed up before even fighting monsters.

Oh no i was so excited for part 3 and ...there is none. sadge but thanks anyway for the two parts.

The Transporter battle right after this one is the best scene in the entire Manga for me.

I like seeing her as a kinda anti hero now. Interesting that her eyes are different than when we first see her. Fav moment is her looking at all the robed men and throwing their soldier's corpse back at them
