That happens all the time where I work. We have a table with our opening and closing times right on the door. We start work an hour an an half before opening and you get people pressing their faces against the door asking us if we are open. How stupid do you have to be?
I don't know why people don't understand that Bernard runs the book store to pay for his wine and cigarettes. The abuse is a freebie for the customers. I would love to shop at his store, the challenge would be will I get to buy a book today? I would rather have him than an annoying suck up trying to sell me everything in the store.
I read 'Bernard Hates Black People' and thought,' No, that's not right; he's a lazy, selfish, self-loathing, angry man with precious little decorum or empathy or any desire to conquer his addiction to several substances such as nicotine and sloth, and he has trouble bringing himself to wear colours as he'd be forced to wash his clothes, but I certainly don't remember any black people on this programme.'
its obvious isn't it he treats it like his own personal library and the whole show revolved around a single idea that people who run second hand bookshops are often exactly like Bernard
I've had this question that I've been asking myself since the day I started watching this show. "If Burnard doesn't like people, why then he run a book shop in the first place?!"
Bernard Black hates people.
2:19 love this part
2:15 this is my father in a nutshell 😂
I keep reading the video title as "Bernard hates black people".
I'm dyslexic and read this is Bernard hates black people
That title could have meant something way different.

I read the title wrong
I misread the title as Bernard hates black people for a sec 😵💫
I'm an asshole like this at my job, especially to fucking assholes causing problems. How I haven't been fired is beyond me.
Oh my goodness... I read the title as 'Bernard hates black people' Well done, very good advertising.
Me too man. I was so confused.
Bernard Black is my spirit animal.
Agreed!
I am bernard but without the alcoholism, and I don't know if that makes it better or worse.
I read the title too fast and thought it said “Bernard hates Black people” Freudian slip
Lmao I thought the same. Thought I’d forgot a really racist episode of the show.
my headcanon for why the shop was still going despite bernard and why people browse there is because bernard has the best selection of books
I thought this said Bernard Hates Black People

I relate to Bernard far more than any healthy, intelligent human being should.
Well what a special little snowflake you are! Imagine relating to a character, you must be truly special.
I think there is a bit of Bernard in all of us. 🙃
are you a snarky bastard alcoholic man? hahahahahahha
Same honestly
Same
2:15 Saying it how it is! Absolute legend.
I can understand his sentiment, but speaking like that to an employee makes one a cunt.
@@fadetoblack1026 On one hand, yes. On the other, sales people can be like that just as well!

My bet is the 2:12 guy is the person he hates the least
I read the title of this video with two words switched that made the meaning very, very different.

@@peterdavies2960 Thank you very much, apparently i have pondered this for 7 years :D
I read this as Bernard hates black people xD
Them too)
they aren't excluded from his hate
Me too
The title is almost as obvious as 'The Sky is Blue'.
Being from England, that is hardly obvious.
is it possible Bernard Black is blind?
"CLOSED"
Definitely my favorite line. Wish I could use that.
Maureen Johnson you.... you.... *stare*
missread the title, thought it said "Bernard hates black people"
This is still my favourite TV show of all time!
could not stop laughing because that's what I always want to tell people when I walk into a store.
Lol yes
"Now go there and await my instructions." ^^
Touche!
how is Bernard people hates black racist? lmfao
its obvious isn't it he treats it like his own personal library and the whole show revolved around a single idea that people who run second hand bookshops are often exactly like Bernard
Hahaha! I read the title of this very wrongly. I was confused about it until I reread the title and realised I mixed up 'Black' and 'hates'.
That's brilliant! I've always loved the British sense of humor.
I've had this question that I've been asking myself since the day I started watching this show. "If Burnard doesn't like people, why then he run a book shop in the first place?!"
Why does he ever leave his home if he hates people? Because we all have to do things we don't like.
