Quick and Easy Steak Quesadilla with twist.

Just me making a steak quesadilla, gringo style. I’ve had a bunch of life stuff going on and haven’t been able to record any videos for a bit. I somehow found myself alone and decided to shoot a quick video. Nothing authentic about this meal. In fact, I probably managed to even confuse other gringos with the mayo. I’m tempted to turn comments off.

I didn’t know frozen tater tots could taste this good.

One of my favorite tater tot recipes involves using ground beef to make Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole. But this isn’t the recipe you are used to seeing. We’re making an upgraded version of that viral recipe and I think you’ll love it. No canned “cream of whatever” soup, no canned “cheese soup”, a beef mixture that actually tastes like cheeseburger and crispy tots instead of a potato mush.

I am lactose intolerant and I am going to try this to make the fiid I miss, mac and cheese, without milk. The lactose I in sharp cheese should be fine. I will start woththe water, alka seltzer, butter and cheese, and I will probably add it to a roux, add ingredients to adjust thickness, add pasta water, bread crubs bacon and jalapeños.
Gourmet is a loose term these days
Put a tablespoon of your favorite BBQ sauce in... 😉
That's a great idea! Can't wait to give that a try next time. Thanks for watching.
thank you so much for this video and recipe what a great presentation and clear directions, i will be soon to try this amazing recipe thank you so much!
Thank you for the very kind words! I really appreciate it. Glad you liked the video.
Nice looking recipe... But the video ended suddenly, before we got a chance to put on cheese and sour cream.. (Maybe that's just me)
😀 Cheese and Sour cream would be great in these tacos! Thanks for watching.
great vid man
Thanks for the kind words!
I don't know why the algorithm suggested this video, but I'm glad it did! Looks good!

Such nice words! Thank you!
I should point out that Tony Chachere's is probably pronounced "shah-SHARE."
I’ve never thought of that, but you’re probably right!
Before uploading your video play it on your tv to check the volume level. Mix the oil on the tater tot’s before adding seasoning so they stick better ( spray butter works better and has a better taste ) and line your land with aluminum foil to make it easy cleanup. Hope those tips help! P.s I movie has great editing tools for free!
Thanks for the tips! I edited on my laptop and then played it on my phone. Was it too loud or too quiet?
My love for pizza is unconditional😋😋, thank you for this amazing video ❤

Couldn't hear your commentary over the loud music 0:50 - 1:30. Or is that intentional?
Thanks for reaching out! That was one of my first videos and I was very much in the learning phase (I still am) and would definitely edit differently now. At this point I don’t have the original video anymore so I could either delete it or leave it up, so I just leave it up.
Including the recipe in the description box would be appreciated.
I’ll work on this. It may take a week or two though.
I like to air fry tater tots and stir them in. Or air fry a hash brown and put them over the top about mid way through cooking
That sounds amazing! Thanks for the great tip.
Disgusting. Keep your nasty recipe to yourself
Great comment.
that looked amazing
Thanks for the kind words!
Americans eat some weird shit.
1. all cultures eat some weird shit- want to talk bulat in the Pacifics, fermented shark in Iceland and Greenalnd, ant larvae in Mexico, fried spider in Cambodia? 2, if you removed the saltines (which this could still work with- i mean saltines aren't that distant from a bread and breads are used by many cultures in casseroles) this would be extremely typical in a lot of countries- eggs, cheese, sausage and very normal spices/vegetables 3. most homes wouldn't use saltines like this to begin with but again actually might work- havent tried it. different? yeah. weird? no
My family puts a can of croissants on the bottom, sausage, bacon, cheese then eggs poured in. Serve with maple syrup. Me and my sister would eat until sick!
It’s based off of this type of dish: g.co/kgs/bzB513J One time I didn’t have any stale bread so I used saltines instead. The saltines soak up all the liquid and acted just like the bread did.
Here's the recipe: Ingredients: 1 med onion, diced 3-4 garlic cloves minced 1 Jalepeno, diced Tablespoon oil (canola) 1lb ground beef Salt Tablespoon of flour 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp chili powder 1/2 tsp ground oregano 1 can diced tomatoes 12-14 corn tortillas 1.5-2 cups of shredded cheddar or similar cheese. Optional for serving: Pickled Jalapenos Crema or Sour Cream Salsa Hot Sauce Heat a medium-large skillet over medium high heat. Add the tablespoon of oil. Brown the ground beef, add ingredients the tablespoon of flour and a pinch of salt about halfway through. Total time will be about 5-7 minutes. Once the ground beef is browned, remove from the skillet and into a bowl. Set aside for now. Next, in the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil and bring back up to temp over medium-high heat. Sauté the diced onion and jalapeño, reserving 1/4 cup of ONION for serving. Add a pinch of salt. After sautéing for 3-5 minutes, add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute or so until fragrant. Add the ground beef back to the skillet with the onions, jalapeño and garlic. Then add the cumin, chili powder, and ground oregano. Stir to combine everything. Then add the can of diced tomatoes (no need to drain), and stir to combine. Taste everything and add more salt or spices if needed. Next add 1/4 cup of water and let simmer until reduced and most liquid is evaporated. Pour the mixture back into the bowl. Get a casserole dish or oven proof skillet ready. Spread a small amount of the beef mixture in the bottom of the dish (about 1/4 cup). In a separate pan, warm a corn tortilla over high heat for just 5-10 seconds and place in the bottom of the casserole dish, repeat process, covering the bottom of the dish. Overlap of tortillas is fine. Cover that with about 1/3 of the beef mixture. Spread about 1/2 a cup of cheese over that. Then repeat this process 1 or 2 more times, depending on how many layers you want in your lasagna. But on the final layer, be sure to add extra cheese! Bake in a 425 degree oven until cheese is melted and the lasagna is heated through, which will be about 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven and top with whatever you'd like. Raw onions, pickled jalapenos, salsa and crema are all great options. Then serve and eat!
holy fuck.
wonderful
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks delicious!
Thanks!

Thank you for the very kind words!!!
Thank you for picking up that piece of onion, I couldn't focus on anything else.
Need way more onion and peppers, different kinds of peppers; bell, poblano, anaheim, as well as jalapeño!
Thanks for the tips! Sounds delicious!
Love the recipe and love the music. The music is motivating to me
Thank you! Glad you liked the food and the music!
Don't like music Don't need it
Thank goodness you found the volume and muted it.
Interesting way to make a burger. Looks good! New subscriber.
Thanks for the sub!
Great video. This looks really delicious.
Thank you 😋
put a wet paper towel under that cutting board so it's not sliding the hell all over the place.
That looks amazing!
What is with the stupid music? Recipe looks ok but the movie soundtrack sucks.
Great comment! This link should help: www.makeuseof.com/tag/3-ways-control-youtube-video-volume/
All you did was make taco'sagna.
The Cumin is a little lite and you need at least a tablespoon of good Chili powder. Also instead of just water use Chicken or Beef broth for your liquid. Flavor man. Other than that, very nice idea.
Thanks for the tips!
Give us the recipie for green chile sauce with pork. Please. I can not find it, and I don't want to order
I’ll post a video, but in the meantime, this is a very “typical” Colorado Green Chile” recipe. www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sams-no3-kickin-green-chili-recipe-1923947 Sam’s No 3 is a diner that’s been around forever. For the cubed pork, most people use tenderloin, but I like pork butt. Either will be great. I’ll get a video with my recipe up in the next couple weeks.
Shouldve added a layer of refried beans and topped with sour cream.
Great suggestion. Will definitely try next time.
Not Mexican style lasagna. More like nachos.
I get where you’re coming from. After you bake it though, everything gets pretty soggy and more “casserole” like.
I'm not mad either way
This looks amazing and i will be making it soon! Also, the music great. It sounds like the song that plays during the montage of a heist scene in a movie😂
Glad you like it!
Wtf? Where is the recipe?
This music makes me feel like I'm watching a spy movie.
😄 Not the intent, but I suppose it could be worse!
so yummy food
Thank you 😋
Wow super tasty yummy yummy recipe nice presentation
Thank you so much
So, you made nachos. Looks good! I can make this on game day!
Hope you enjoy! Once you cook in the oven, the tortillas become much "soggier" than Nachos, fyi. Still delicious though.

Ditch the music, show a written recipe and show a serving…cut it open
Appreciate the feedback! I cut out the part of video where I cut it open because most people left before I got to that point. I'll make a short though where I include that footage and will post a link here.
Should I subscribe and like this video if no written recipe in the description?
I will add this to the description within the next week. Did not know if people would care about that or not. Thanks for the call out.
You are most welcome.@@TheWrappedScallion
Why not, you subscribe to everything else....;-)
NUNYA@@garyhoerner8233There, satisfied Mr. Gary Hoerner? I have subscribed and liked his RUclips video. Hope that makes you happy and able to face another day.
Looks amazing! Would’ve like to have seen a plated piece of it though!
I cut out the footage of serving the "lasagna" because most folks were leaving the video before that happened. I'll post a short with that footage included and will post a link here soon.
I don't need to see you prepping vegetables!! I can do that myself!! Just give me ingredients and show me how to put it together!! Quit milking the thing!!
Thanks for the feedback. I'll post a short with the quick and dirty version. I include link here.
...Just happened to cone across your Channel...funny thing...: I grew up in Denver for part of my life., when it was basically " a small but great City "...population then was 300-350,000. Beautiful, safe , and lots of things to do. This looks like a Dish that I'll have to try making !
Thanks for watching! I moved to Denver in 2000 and it was a MUCH different city. Pretty much as you describe..."small but great". Things certainly have changed! If you ever went to any of the Swifts Diners (Colfax/Santa Fe/Broadway) they made this burrito well known in Denver.
@TheWrappedScallion ...so kind of you to reply... :) The last time I saw Denver on any scale was 2016, I believe...was just passing through ,on the 70,and saw where I used to go,Rocky Mountain Lake Park. I am not sure I ever aye thete, although there are places I do recall certain places... The Denver Tea Room, ... Gaetanos..The Scotchman.A really good Mexican Restaurant...but not sure of the name ( La Posada. Maybe?) There were so many places I went to during the time I lived there. ..I went to West High school, for a short time before moving away. I loved going to the Roller Skating Rink on Friday or Saturday night....shopping at The Denver. Joslin. Going to Trafalgar Square. Elitchs Gardens. So many good memories.
