    Hi Alice! I'm from America and I got tinnitus about 7 months ago. It was extremely difficult during those months and I often thought death would be quieter. Every day I would wake up shaking and hoping all day that I might have even a few moments of silence. I started watching your videos about a month in and they were so helpful. Whenever I watched them I found that I didn't feel as tense as I normally did. The nights were the worst but I made it through them. I'm doing so much better now! I barely hear my tinnitus and when I do I've noticed that I don't care about it anymore. I've found reasons to stay alive and actually find beauty in things regardless of the noise. I just want to say that I'm so grateful for you and your videos. They have been such a huge help to me. Having tinnitus is very hard and I'm proud of myself for surviving the difficult beginnings so that I can live a beautiful life. Thank you <3

    After 5 years of tinnitus habituation I woke up 3 months ago with a new morse code sound. I was instantly transported back to those first few weeks, like all the progress I'd made was gone. Thankfully I've made it back to where I was, no, I'm Bette than ever! The sound is mostly gone again and videos like yours helped immensely

    I'm sure it will fade! Our bodies make all kinds of noises and as you and joey explained that it's nothing to worry about. I'm practising the "no big deal" approach towards my body sounds. And it's working! My sounds change all the time, I think it's just natural. And dependant on what you're going through. I know so many people who also hear sounds or static that changes. And they don't worry about it. It's scary at first when you first notice it. But practising curiosity and selfcompassion is the key! I learned that from Rock Steady and you! I even had T as a kid, never worried about it. I called it the "TV" in my head haha! Turns out a LOT of people also experience this including my mom.

    Hi Alice. I truly admire your honesty and the reality of life that you experience. You tell it as it is and I admire that of you. I can relate to much of what you say because I go through the same kind of challenges everyday. You being open and sincere demonstrates how human you and we are. I'm grateful for that. We don't understand why life is like that for us but the compassion that we have seems to lighten the load somewhat on this lonely journey. Thank you Alice.

    Thank you so much for these videos. It's been almost a year since I got exposed to loud music and experienced tinnitus + sharp pain in both ears ever since. The path of realising what had happen, searching for answers, being overwhelmed by the thought of the symptoms never leaving, and trying to keep living despite it all is such an incredibly hard challenge. (not even mentionning the fact that ENT specialists are clueless about ways to cope with ringing) Feeling like I'm not actually alone in this jounrey is currently my only source of hope to get better over time. This is priceless. 🙏

    hey alice, sorry to hear you've been having a harder time lately… I just wanted to remind you to be gentle and patient with yourself. I know I always set high standards for myself, even when it comes to improving my mental health, and the motivation to get better can sometimes turn into placing even more undue pressure and stress on myself. focusing on letting things go rather than attempting to gain control during periods of stress has been the most helpful for me - minimising my to-do lists and prioritising rest and whatever makes me feel me feel better in the moment. take care <3

      alice, i do not recommend you take this advice. I smoked mary J for 35 years and tried to quite for over 20. as soon as the tinnitus hit the weed was causing insane panic attacks which enabled me to finally quit because the nights became so scary, I thought my heart was going to explode. Keep the faith.

    • @caferacer873
      @caferacer873 4 дня назад

      @jasonmaylor8100 for me, it worked, but I could only smoke indica strains. No sativa or hybrids. The indica slows down the CNS thus calming the tinnitus. Sure, for the first week of starting to smoke it will increase your perception of the noise but only for about 20 mins and then it goes down. This not only worked for me but for many others I have spoken with. Of course, I'm coming from a place where it's legal and it looks like you would have to seek permission from a doctor in Australia.

    I think your nervous system is on the verge of resetting itself. So it's telling you hey, I'm still here. I think you need me. But no doubt you don't. I still get sound based Tinnitus a few days a week sometimes more. Any sound makes the Tinnitus get louder then what I'm hearing. Just my nervous system still on alert IMO... I stopped Yoga and need to go back. When I exercise, I tend to have more great days.

    I experienced my first spike after a few months that were relatively good. It was hard, because while I had had bad days before, this was on an entirely new level: louder tinnitus, new sounds... I also felt like I had lost all my habituation. I got back to meditation, trying to calm myself and trying to just live my life. Not let my tinnitus make me miss out on experiences. And after two weeks, my tinnitus calmed down again. Three steps forward, two steps backwards. It's all part of the healing process!

    Hi Alice I habituated to my tinnitus for quite a few years but it has been a month that I'm struggling with a new high pitch sound. Last night I woken up around midnight and had a meltdown. I spent my night awake with a couple of panic attacks. I slept maybe 2 hours with a bit of meditation.. You've helped me enormously so let me help you. I've been there. In fact right now my tinnitus suddenly spiked higher. But unless you have suddenly sustained permanent hearing loss (highly unlikely), it's highly likely to go back to your baseline. Tinnitus is neurological. And even in the 0.1% chance this stays with you, you're still going to be ok. I've lived with this for 25 years and it can still fade into the background. On another note...the cure is coming. Bunch of guys DIY'ing Susan Shore's device.
