Probably a stupid question, but since they’re reusable, how would you go about washing them
I taught myself everything I needed to know, I had to learn to take care of myself and use google to figure out what was going on with me😭 mama kept leaving me and didn’t teach me shi
I got the mirena coil in because my periods were so heavy I was anemic. I would totally recommend
This is adorable
Cups, disks, or tampons. The only time I'm sitting in blood is after I give birth!
My mom told me if it happens, even if shes asleep, to come tell her and shed help me Well she was asleep. And i got told to put a bandaid on it. I tried to repeat myself. But she didnt care or remember. I went probably ober a year or two raw doggin it without pads bc of that. I got mine earlier than most did around me too
Using a disposable one right now. Personally in my opinion they’re comfy but I respect anyone looking for other options!
I would find the reusables more uncomfortable because of the process of cleaning them. Feels less sanitary. Thank god for disposable flex discs.
I need one or 3
But what about the damp feeling. I change my disposables every 1-2 hours to feel dry. I would need so many cloth pads
When I got mine, I was like, "mom I'm bleeding" and she was like "I've got stuff for that" and yeah
Personally, I could never, I know it's natural bur I still find it disgusting, but respect those who use cloth
I lowk like the pads i use👀🙇♀️
Trust me y'all, cloth pads are more comfortable abd less itchy, you dont even wake up at night due to irritation if you wear one
I hate disposables and I’m sure I’m going to hate reusable because they feel like a diaper.
No. Just no.
My mom never told me about periods, she just left it up to public school education-my male gym teacher who told us periods last 3 days and you loose 1 tsp of blood🤦🏼♀️
I use disposable ones, its more convient for me, i have one underwear for period times but it really just doesnt feel clean so i dont really like it 😭 to me id rather dispose and get another one and not t more work washing it out and tosding it in the washer when im in pain lol /opinion
I couldn't use a tampon until after I had sex for the first time. It was too painful, but I hated pads. Once deflowered, I tried one and I loved that I didn't need to have ail the mess. I used them almost exclusively until my hysterectomy. Periods may be natural, but so is taking a dump. They're both inevitable, necessary and disgusting. It's nothing to celebrate.
I use a menstrual cup to cut back on waste, I've never liked pads, and since more and more metals and plastics have been found in cotton tanpons, I've cut them completely out. There's zero/minimal waste options for every preference of fhp :)
I wish I could use these but we have limited laundry service in the apartment building I live in so I can’t 😭 plus I my skin is really sensitive.
Gross....
Something made to help someone with a natural bodily function is gross? Nice of you to tell people what kind of person you are..
my mom didn’t tell me anything and since i don’t like her i didn’t let her see me so i just took one of her pads
I have a bunch in my closet for my kiddo. She will not suffer like we have suffered 😂❤
Love how you said child and not daughter :D
as a neurodivergent, i’m pretty sure a cloth pad would make me even more uncomfortable since i got used with pads. My brain would like…LAG feeling a texture on my 🐱 that’s not my disposable pads and usual panties.
Same bro 😭🙏
As a neurodivergent I prefer reusable ones since they are more comfortable, don't get itchy and they don't contain perfume. The underwear is the best tho
@@Carlo268Totally agree! As a neurodivergent, I like feeling it close to me so I feel protected/secure. Also why I sometimes wear tights under pants lol. I like the security of it
I hate them
THANK YOU! This is my biggest issue with reusable period products! I’m gonna need to snag some of these…
Thank god for my parents They gave me a book (BEFORE i started menstruating) and told me to come to them with any questions which i LOVED because i got the basics and if i needed anymore info i could come to them but it wasn’t super awkward When i started my period my parents were chill about it and got me what i needed 🤗
I had sixth grade health sex.Ed class so I knew what was coming but my mom never talked to me.. My daughters are six and four and don't know alot yet obs, but they know mommy bleeds every month and that it's okay and it's not dangerous
LMOA THE FACT THAT THIS IS THE FIRST THING ON MY FYP AND IM ON MY PERIOD 😭🙏🙏🙏
How are these for heavy flow? And are they comfortable if you’re an active person?
I prefer reusable ones. They're defenitely more comfortable and it prevents leaking(depending on which ones you buy). I would say reusable period underwear is the best invention ever for being active
i use padded underwear and its such a lifesaver 😭😭 SO much more comfy than pads + it's sustainable!
FYI cloth can be VERY VERY irritating. I tried using cloth but I had to stop and free bleed during the middle of the school day because the cloth was SO irritating to my skin.
I am 65.My mother never said a word to me about what to expect at 12.I knew things from reading and sex ed class but never actually related that to happening to me.I knew my mother used tampons..I just didnt focus on it at all. When it came ,I was on a split school shift ,12 to 6,and right before I left to catch the bus....I was kind of scared at first! I had nothing there at home and did not know how to use a tampon and so I wadded up tp and wore that to the bus stop.Thankfully a friend at the bus stop tooke to the school gym and we got a pad with safety pins for 10 cents. My point?..Lafies with daughters nearing this time...please keep supplies for them and be there to help them, if they need you.
Thank you!!! I have been looking for a sustainable period option that isn’t cups bc I’m nervous about storage and such. Thank you thank you thank you.
I thought that menstruating said masturbating
How do u use those???????
I'm gonna start this off this is no hate I'm just concerned and curious. How are these sanitary? Like can you wear it for hours without giving yourself a UTI? Or do you have to switch it out often? If that's the case how are you supposed to keep the dirty pad with you? I'm asking cause when I used pads I had to change them frequently or I would get infections and ngl the idea of carrying a bloody pad around sounds awkward. Again this is no hate I am just curious!
disposables aren't uncomfortable. Don't lie to sell your product. They are comfortable, convenient and clean.
Meh. People have preferences. But I know a lot of people who have a strong dislike against disposable pads, but haven't tried cloth pads for whatever reason. I do think there should be a wider variety of period products readily available to girls, including when they only first start their periods
How often do you need to wash them?
Can’t use this :’> coming from someone who bleeds a LOT (literally prescribed to STOP bleeding) and my mother even more so- it’s nice to see a comfy alternative but I’m stuck to disposable so I dont bleed through it within the next hour 😭
My people! 😅
Since when were disposable pads uncomfortable? I guess they are when it sticks on you but other than that…?
I never really knew abt periods until I was like 9 and got mine and was like “oh. “ and went on with my day
Hey! Does anyone know if cloth pads work well with a heavy (extra heavy) flow? My daughter is so young and just starting her journey. I’m not sure if these would be suitable for school or heavy flow days. Any advice is much appreciated!
Hi! I’m in 10th grade (got my period is 6th) and I only use period underwear. I’m not sure how similar they are to cloth pads, but they are reusable and are super helpful at school!! I have a very heavy period and unless I am staying after school for something I don’t ever need to change into a new pair! This is a game changer, especially when I was young and very embarrassed about being pads to the bathroom! Plus you can swim with them! I would definitely recommend looking into them for your daughter!! Hope this helps!
@ it helps a ton! Thank you so much! She is only 10 and it a lot for her to navigate. I looked at the thinx brand (I think it was called) next to the diva cups the other day and wondered about them. I’m definitely going to give them a try. God bless honey! Thanks for sharing❤️
Yes but I would look into period underwear, it's the most comfortable option
@@RestNhim That’s the brand I use! Glad I could be of help! Tell her I wish her the best of luck and that chocolate always helps!
Why would they think the smell is worse than with regular pads? Too many people have such willfully ignorant opinions.
How do they stay in place? Can you wash them in the regular laundry and dry cycle? Do they come in different sizes and lenghts or flow levels? Do they make cloth pads for postpartum? (You should add a pocket for a cooling pack if you make them) do they come in different styles like with wings or not?
I've got one from a different brand, but how mine works is that it has a button on the wings, connecting them together on the underside of my underwear. This is an absolute deal maker for me as it means the sides of the pads won't shift inwards, so blood won't get to my underwear. For mine, I can do it with regular laundry, but you do have to hand wash it first to get out a lot of the blood. And that's about as far as I know, only having one brand!
I don't know about this, like part of me doesn't want my kiddo to have to deal with bringing it back from school and then learning to clean it
Am I stupid because I didn’t even know this was an option
I can't get past the ick factor of reusable ones myself but I respect those who can do it.
@@mariahsj689 fr and also I would need sooo many bc normally with a tampon and pad I change about every 2 hours (endometriosis, I know what the issue is) so yeah I would need a billion of these lmao and I don’t have time to wash them all the time either it would just feel unhygienic for me to not wash them right away idk.
Same, just having to wash them etc I'd need 5 a day and wash daily for atleast two days of cycle haha
Nah I dont think im gonna wanna use reusable ones snytime soon
Yeah like… how do you wash them?😭
@@lulubellsteiho6306right, it’s about the frequency of having to wash and change them to me. I cant handwash my pads 3-4 times a day, and I can’t carry a soiled pad around all day either, and I can’t run a cycle each time at the end of the day just for a load of 4 pads. It seems like a good alternative for people who maybe work from home though? Or stay at home parents?
