Heater core hot water return kit
The original design has the hot water from the heater core going right back to the cold side of the radiator. Meaning that hot water is going right back to the engine without being cooled first!
With this kit the hot water from heater core goes back through the hot side of radiator which means it will be cooled by the radiator before the water pump picks it up again for circulation through the engine.
Go to my cooling page on www.leroydiesel.com to purchase this or get more information.

The Stanadyne bottle treats 60 gal. Available at AutoZones. The Power Service treats 100. Available at Autoparts and Walmart. These are the only two I know that we're tested among many other to add lubrication to the fuel. Our old trucks were meant to run on high Sulphur diesel. We now get Ultra Low Sulphur. Run one of the two additives in every tank. Running Trans fluid or 2 stroke oil does no...

I appreciate you getting things for these trucks as they are getting older and this stuff is unavailable to us. You've helped keep my old truck alive for years.
This is great. Do you happen to have a breakdown of all the parts and fittings? Thanks in advance
The betas have taken over.
I’m in South Carolina. It’s the same way here. My grandmother was from Texas and I like the snowman
@@garynapoli3042 thank you. I was shocked that it was all across the South United States
Big 4x4 truck's and cant handle an inch of snow. And thats why i hang my hat in Tennessee
@@randomguy1371 yeah 1 in of snow and it all shuts down
I don’t look like that much snow to me maybe an inch or two we get a lot more than that up here in Albuquerque, New Mexico at times I’ve had 8 inches here at my house and out in the streets and the mail service still works even UPS and FedEx granite doesn’t happen all the time Just every now and then but it does happen but for us everybody still works snow or no snow anyway happy new year Leroy happy new year.
@jerrydlaughrin2880 Everything around here grinds to a halt when there is snow or ice.
Whats your thought on scat cranks for the 6.5 ? Scat says they dont recomend liquid damper but I think ill run one anyway cause im not changing that ballancer every year
@@taylorh3930 I've sold many over the years without any reported problems and yes you can run a fluid damper on one
if i got a 92 manual trans, would i not use any of the cooler ports? my oil cooler is mouted on the front and had its own rad. and nothing is plugged into the 4 ports facing the cab. is that cus the manual trans dont need it ? confused.
On a 92 and 93 you fill the coolant through the radiator on 94 and newer you fill it through the bottle on the firewall. You could make this radiator work with a new lower radiator hose and my expansion tank kit on the website
how do you like your generator? can you lift it okay? how is the remote start?
So far I like it a lot can't beat it for the price. Everything still works and we may get to test it out tomorrow and Wednesday with this ice and snow we're getting ready to have
That's a 30A RV receptacle, used for plugging your RV in.
Fantastic! Never stop pushing the envelope to keep our trucks on the road. I appreciate you keeping mine alive for 10 plus years!
Thank you I very much appreciate the comment and your support
Greetings from Ukraine! Pleasure doing business with you Leroy❤
Thank you! If you need anything else just let me know
I have a gas 1986 454
@lancelovell4942 yes it will work on that
Where do I buy this?
See the description for a link. Leroydiesel.com
Are the replacement tanks available? What other vehicles do they fit?
what port is the in and out on the side of the block
So I realize that you definitely need the Teflon tape for the fittings going into the adapter itself however do you need Teflon tape on the rest since they all seem to be tapered?
Sealants are only needed on pipe thread. Anytime you have flare fittings you do not need sealant. You could put some anti-seize on the threads if you like
nice work
Thank you!
What is the name of the sensor that goes on the passenger side of the 6.5
Engine coolant sensor?
Bad ass
This is excellent
Thank you!
Do these work in the 6.5 vans?
No these kits do not work on the Vans but I have built them for Vans before you would need to contact me and give me the details so I can make a set for you if you like
Great video, Leroy. I will purchase one of your hose kits for my 95 K1500 6.5 TD. The question is, the oil cooler OEM setup is a straight metal tube from the oil filter adapter to the rubber hose, are there straight fittings in the kit also?
Whats the downside to not running one? I bought a truck and the pmd failed on the drive home. Was able to get a replacement the next day but the old one did not have a resistor in it. Its been a month/2k mikes and i perspnally havnt noticed anything but im new to 6.5s
You might get away with not running one but then again the ECM when just the right conditions are met can flake out on you if you don't run one. So just to make it simple I would run one. They're only $20 on the website
@@leroydiesel5647 Fair enough, Ill just order one. I have a flu damper on the way and i just got your oil cooler lines in the mail. My 6.5 only has 17k miles on it so i wanna treat it right.

Hey, Leroy. Will this kit include some sort of a cap for the radiator nipple the feed is being relocated from?
Ya the website says it comes with cap and hardware
What’s the filter next to the AC compressor
@@willwalker5594that’s his fuel filter
Hi, yes it comes with a block off for the radiator port. Thank you!
Yep, fuel filter. I have a kit for that on my fuel delivery page if interested
Wonder if one would benefit this, if they live in say....Phoenix AZ? Truck only gets driven in the Hottest parts of the year, the rest it gets occasional use as we tow to hunting grounds and camping, during the cooler months.
Yes it would definitely contribute to keeping the engine cool. Leaving at like the factory has it as I shown in the video dumps all that hot water right back into the cold of the radiator. Doesn't make sense to me to do it that way if you're trying to keep an engine cooler
I'm trying something similar but with the AmsOil dual filter w/bypass. However I'm having bit of a problem of where to mount it. Their instructions say it shouldn't have more than four feet of line to/from the block and there just isn't a good place within that distance to mount it well. It seems to me that mounting under the door on the frame rail could cause problems with priming when changing filters (the lines thus draining) since there would be a lot of oil line to fill before it builds pressure. Unless, of course, one prefills the entire system with every filter change, which would be a big hassle. What are your thoughts? With your dual filter set up, how long does it take to prime everything on start-up? Would you be willing to show where you tend to mount it?
Just prefill the oil filters if you are worried. Mine mount close to the lift pump, I don't have a picture as on my truck that space is taken by an oil cooler.
Looks like another quality kit keeping these trucks on the road by Leroy diesel
Thank you!
That’s a nice product Leroy. Mine is so dirty I can’t see the coolant. Looks like you have some pine trees too
Thank you, and yes the pine trees cover everything! Oak trees also!
Busting nuts and tiny wrenches. Got a laugh at that.
Thank you.
Great idea!
Do you know someone in Los Angeles county California who can do a decent job is installing your harmonic balancer and pulley for my 6.5 L 1998 GMC? Thanks
Good to talk to you on the phone earlier. I don't know any mechanic in your area but this is a simple job with the proper tool which is available on my website. Most people could do this on their own. Annie mechanic with the proper tool can do this job also
RUclips did me that exact way years ago and it made me made especially when RUclips refused to pay me my money that my videos made. Regardless if you’re making money or not I sure enjoy your videos.
Thank you have a good day
I'm upgrading to an electric carter lift pump on my 6.5l turbo diesel, do I need to remove the mechanical pump and plate the block?
Not required to do that
I need an optical sensor how much for one I didn’t see it on your website
Best to email me. OS is right at $399
Yeah almost ordered that but my mechanic can't figure out how to mount my starter after threads stripped so now I'm looking for the plate adapter for manual.
I am working on a plate for the manual transmission also and coincidentally might have the Prototype back this week
Yeah I'm probably going to be buying one from you soon as you get that figured out although I got to make sure that's the transmission that I have and I took my truck in in mid May and I just got it back from the shop for the fourth time and they said now that they can't do the starter for it was all what we need part so we'll this and that and the other anyway long story short they can't do it and I like the idea of this more anyway cuz even just the pet shop on a starter not going to last forever so this plate seems a lot more worthwhile but I do have a manual so I still got to figure out what transmission I have in there that'll have to wait till my lift is open to be used for a while that way the truck can just sit there but I'll be contacting you as soon as I get things figured out.
I should have a prototype plate for the manual transmission this week. Then doing Productions soon after
@@blade5054 thanks let me know if I can help
Hell, that’s a perfect idea. Great, thinking Leroy great thinking.
@@jerrydlaughrin2880 thank you but it's not totally a new idea engines have run on natural gas for a long time I just got it to work on this engine. The needle valve I believe is the key
@@leroydiesel5647 I know that Leroy I was referring to the electrical box idea to hide your gas hook up there at your chimney. That’s what I was referring to at the side of your house. Like my house here in Albuquerque I have a gas line as well and I thought about putting a big generator in the backyard to hook up to the electrical panel and hook it to the natural gas line and that’s a great idea. That’s what I was referring to the electrical box hook up like you did, perfect they sell generators that run on natural gas as well.
