Jaecoo J7 Obstacle Challenge - Is It All Just Marketing Hype Or Is It Actually Any Good?
Jaecoo organized an obstacle challenge to showcase some of the J7's off-road credentials.
We already know it can wade in 60cm of water, it can tow 1300kg and its roof can take 75kg. It also has impact bars for additional safety. It also comes complete with ADAS 2.5 safety features.
In this video, we find out if the average driver can manoeuvre the J7 albeit with a bit of help from an instructor.
We also risk our lives as Jolin's passengers as she takes on the obstacle challenge.

Jaecoo J7 - Stylish Soft-Roader With A Built In Feature You MUST Know About
Просмотров 9 тыс.14 дней назад
Let's start with the obvious. The outside of the Jaecoo J7 looks like a Range Rover - this is because Chery, Jaecoo's parent company, has been assembling Land Rover vehicles in China for over a decade. So you might say that there were some exchange of tech and design ideas between the two companies. Apparently, Jaecoo, is a combination of the German word 'jager', which means hunter, and the Eng...

Notable changes were the inclusion of Cosmos Black as a colour option, removal of chrome side trims, improved range from 410km to 480km (NEDC), darker interior finishes, electronic tailgate, bigger wheels, better tires - Continental EcoContact 6Q tyres instead of Atlas Batman A51, number of speakers increa...
BYD Seal Dynamic - Same Good Looks But Cheaper ... With A Couple Of Features Missing

The BYD Seal Dynamic model just launched in Malaysia today - 6 September, 2024. From the outside, the only difference between the Dynamic and the Premium model are size of the rims. The Dynamic gets 18" instead of 19" wheels. It's also available in 2 colours - Cosmos Black and Aurora White. Personally, we prefer the Cosmos Black. Missing is the HUD unit but it still gets the screen for the mete...

Hyundai Ioniq 5 | We Took It For A Test Drive And Were Pleasantly Surprised

Although we liked the design of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, admittedly we judged a book by it's cover because of it's size mainly because I personally did not enjoy my past experience with bigger cars. Lyna had better luck with the Lamborghini Urus but that's in another league altogether. We were pleasantly surprised with the acceleration and the stability on offer. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 Max variant is a spacious CUV that easily turns heads. It's either you like the look of it or you don't. It's that polarizing. It's got features rarely found in cars at this price bracket. BYD Seal | Luxury Car Specs With Supercar Performance

We got invited by Denver Auto to come and have a look at the BYD Seal at their spanking new showroom. They only had the Premium model on display but that's ok because looks wise, the Premium model is only missing the 3.8s badge. Spec wise, both come with the advanced Blade battery pack, but since the Performance model has a motor each at the front and at the back, it can shoot to from 0 to 100 ...

Looks cool and interesting. But definitely not for me as i feel not comfortable seeing the cabin. I like sleek and soft….
What you mean by sleek and soft mate?
So jaecoo interior is?
Hi! Thanks for sharing your opinion. It's good to see that our viewers have a variety of tastes be it interior or exterior of a vehicle. Even Lyna and I don't see eye to eye when we review vehicles and we sometimes point the differences out in our videos. Some viewers might share her opinion and some might share mine. Hey, thanks for your opinion. It is good to have different opinions otherwise life would be boring without variety.
No 360 camera on any spec?
For the models sold in Malaysia, there's no 360 camera. There could be for models in other countries.
@@LynaVasyVoyage that's pity. This is a big suv. 360 should be mandatory. Turn me off.
@@nashk935 It certainly is. We're really not sure why they omitted this feature.
Must launch exterior white paint too..
Hii!! Thanks for taking the time to comment. Actually four colours are available ( in Malaysia ) - Cosmos Black, Surf Blue, Boulder Grey and Ski White. Is white your favourite colour for this car?
@@LynaVasyVoyage yes, white looks neat, don't have to clean it all the time.
Hi!!! Thanks for the video. Do you know when it will arrive in Europe?
Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment. As far as we know the Atto 3 with abbreviated BYD badging was launched in Europe last year. We're actually getting the changes over here late... as usual.
Thanks for the video. Do you have any possible hints on a 4WD version of atto 3? How did they achieve to increase the range limit?
Hi Peter. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. If we're not mistaken, the increase in range could be due to the increase in battery capacity. The Facelift has a 60 kWh battery, same as the Extended Range (ER) variant, while the standard variant came with a 50 kWh battery. Note: The Facelift model is the same price as the Standard range variant at RM149,800. The ER variant costs RM167,800. Although the Atto 3 has the potential to be AWD, there's still no concrete news on that. The only news we got is that BYD Malaysia will be bringing something new to their lineup for a different segment very soon. All we can say is that if they get the pricing right, they're going to disrupt the market for that segment.
This is not a facelift. This is a small update. Some features (such as electric tailgate and 15,6 inch screen) in this video had already been in the car before the update. The only significant change is the tyre brand, nothing else. Unless there is an improvement in the charging speed, it is not worth considering.
Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion. With that in mind, you can understand why we put "Small changes" in the thumbnail. We were hoping that the AC charging would go up to 22kW like that on the Smart # models. Maybe when the new model comes along.
The only significant change is the tyre brand, nothing else. you are right. BUY the OLD VERSIOn UPGARDE Screen RM 1000 SAVE your MONEY!!! COS Nest YeAR THIS Rebure 40K Same like this year
You have a point .
good overview and explanation of the features! Note with the regenerative breaking the break pads are not going to wear out very soon ;). In some countries service is included for the first few years. My maintenance interval in 2 years in The Netherlands.
Hi there. Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, regenerative braking does not wear the pads. It's like using lower gear to slow down a vehicle when descending an incline in ICE vehicles. Thanks also for sharing your service and maintenance schedule. They seem to differ from country to country. Even vehicle specs differ. Sometimes we wish we have the specs our neighbours get.
i wonder how hot it will be in summer without any cover for the panoramic glass, saw some tiktoks video from china with car using similar setup, they put umbrella inside
Hey there. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Fortunately, the weather has cooled down a bit here but owners of cars with panoramic sunroofs have been known to place an additional layer of tint or sunroof cover if it gets too hot. That said, while shooting the Hyundai Palisade test drive video on a very hot day a while back, we had no issues with heat, surprisingly.
Is the AWD version available for test drive?
Thanks for your question. Only the RWD version was available at the time of the test drive.
Did you manage to get full service price for all 5 years?
Hi Timothy, that's a good question. We'll contact Dexter and update you as soon as we have the info.
Hi Timothy. Dexter has informed us that the total service cost for 5 years is about RM4500, averaging RM900 a year.

Price?
The OTR prices of all 3 variants were just released a few minutes ago. Here they are: smart #3 Pro RM175,000 smart #3 Premium RM215,000 smart #3 Brabus RM255,000 We've pinned the link to the launch video at the top of the comments sections. There's more information in the video about features and complimentary goodies buyers will get if they book before 31 July 2024.
Very detailed video. So, the feature that the Tesla does not have is the Pet Mode or is it something else?
I think it's the AC charging. Tesla can do 11 but the top 2 variants of the #3 can do 22. I think Premium is the better buy. Don't really need the 3.7s 0-100, only useful for bragging rights. With our jams, can hardly use. But otherwise, nice looking car.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Anna & Romario. The feature we're referring to is in fact the 22kw AC charging. So sorry for the confusion.
This is called the ULTIMATE trim in Canada, LIMITED trim in US. Your country is behind the times with this trim.
Lucky you. Unfortunately we can't control when car makers decide to launch their models here. Of course, we'd love it if they'd launch it sooner rather than later.
Already booked test drive, looking forward to drive it🎉
Hey, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Let us know which model you're going test drive and how you find the car.😃
The Mrs has a Model 3, I have the AWD Ioniq 6. She says the Ioniq 6's interior is too busy and prefers the simplicity of the Model 3's interior. The Model 3 is smaller and easier to park too. That said, she does admit that she appreciates the features and space of the Ioniq 6 on longer journeys, and so do the kids.
Variety is a good thing. If everyone had the same tastes, it would be a boring world.
I love this car but don't have the confidence to drive it. I'm 4'11".
I know someone who is about your height and she drives a Toyota Fortuner. You should seriously take the Ioniq 5 for a test drive. Who knows, it might surprise you.
You really should give the Ioniq 5 a try. Who knows, you might not find the size being such important factor in your driving experience. I still remember driving a pickup for the first time. I got used to it after half an hour.
bro how to activate wireless charging
Hi bruh. I hope I don't mix this up with another car's setting. At the touch screen, go to Basic Vehicle Information. Then, scroll down to Wireless Charging Settings. It should be below the tailgate height setting. You can toggle the wireless charging on/off there. Below it is the Forget Reminder Function. If that setting is on, the car will 'notify' you if you try to leave the car and your phone is still in the car being charged. Hope that helps.
Nice video but could you do one for the Ioniq 6...the dual motor one if possible, please. That's more my taste as it looks more like a Porsche.
Thank you for your comment. We tried to book the Ioniq 6 for test drive but were told that the test unit just been sold. BTW that was a rear wheel drive model.
nice!! greetings from chery indonesian🙏
Welcome! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. 🙏 What is the most popular Chery model in Indonesia?
P R O M O S M
Updated model launched in South Korea recently. Bigger battery, USB C, rear wiper and a couple more features added. Not sure if Malaysia will get all the bells and whistles when/if it reaches here.
Good to know Hyundai listens to feedback.
I saw the new N variant at the Bangkok Motor Show. Killer looks, powerful but at the expense of range. Can't wait to see your closeup shots when you cover this. Btw, please use more lighting when you shoot in darker areas. Your shots in well lit areas are bloody good but not so much when shooting dark interiors in low light.
The N Variant only good for track days and town driving. Won't help with range anxiety. 😜
We could not make it to the Bangkok Motor Show but hopefully the 'N' will make an appearance here soon. We'll bring more lighting next time 😀
@@paulcottrell1991 Looks so good, though.

Glad you liked the video❤
Thank you for a really comprehensive first look video of the OMODA E5 - it’s great you show the detail - vanity mirrors, door cards, arm rest, centre console in detail, sunroof opening, glove box all really useful and interesting details of the car - even the close up of the steering column stalks is really useful. Great commentary too and useful comparisons. Top marks. So impressed I’ve liked and subscribed.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and of course liking and subscribing. We're glad you liked the video. We'd like to pick your brain a bit. What do you honestly think about E5? Do you have favourite EV in mind? We'd love to hear your thoughts.
@@LynaVasyVoyage Nice of you to ask my opinion. It’s supposed to be available in the Uk March/April 2024 but seems like the price hasn’t definitively been announced yet. That will be all important. It’ll likely be compared with Kona, MG4, ID 3 and BYD Atto and I think space and specifications wise it compares well and will have appeal to people who want buttons and levers as opposed to a minimalist interior. Indicator/wipers/lights incorporated into a single steering column stalk is a little unusual though, Front wheel drive, a DC fast charge of just 110kW and an LFP battery meaning a slight lower range - these are the l negatives. Other than stalks those other things are similar to the cars it’s competing against. The plus for the OMODA is the level of comfort and practicality compared to its competition; The ID3 has no frunk, the MG has no rear seat lighting, nor cup holders nor USB sockets, the Kona has slightly slower DC peak charging of 100kW. The BYD Atto 3 has even lower peak DC charging speed of 89kW. Boot space of 483L (depending on which source you use) compare to 385L of ID3, 440L of Atto 3, 446L of the Kona. If range is compatible with owners use case and blistering pace is not a requirement then it could be a compelling choice in its category. Premium features of the OMODA ( multi-link rear suspension, two level illuminated vanity mirrors, puddle light “OMODA” projection and one pedal driving (the Kona is the other car that has it in the group mentioned) add to the appeal. I’m a really satisfied and proud owner of 2 years of a fully spec’d GV60 Premium (RWD) but that’s a totally different category of vehicle altogether.
@@Antiguan_Dart Whoa! That's a nice looking car , that GV60. We don't have it over here. What can you tell us about it...from an owners perspective. Btw, sorry to bother you with more questions but we're curious creatures.
The GV60 is a great luxury, tech filled, future proofed Cross-over/SUV. However the best features are additional options - Nappa leather with suede headliner, sunroof, vehicle to load, Innovation pack (for HDA2, HUD, surround cameras, self parking) and Bang and Olufsen stereo with noise cancellation) - these easily add £10k to the base price but worth it in my view. Front heated and ventilated seats, rear heated seats , and heated steering wheel is standard. Its practicality is limited by its relatively short 4.515m length (compared to 4.750m length of Model Y, 4.680m length of Kia EV6 or even the 4.635m of Ionic 5. This gives it a 432L boot space so a family of 4 into outdoor activities would struggle but ideal for a couple or family of three and there is a 52L frunk on the RWD version. The drive is extremely quiet, the ride is firm but comfortable with a good road feel. The features not often mentioned are the projected on road dotted reverse lights (beautifully visible at night) to warn other road users perpendicular to you that you are about to reverse, The self park feature can be done while in or out of the car using the key fob, the paddles behind the steering wheel for Regen are great common to Kia, Hyundai, Genesis EGMP vehicles. The rear passenger window shades are a nice touch, wing mirror puddle lights which project the Genesis logo on the ground look great, massage drivers seat activates automatically after an hour driving and augmented reality to satnav instructions ( arrow graphics are superimposed on the infotainment screen showing a front camera view of the road and which lane or turning to take. ) With a plethora of buttons, switches, jog wheel, switches and screens the car is fantastically ergonomic. 3.4 miles/kWh life time efficiency across 16,000 miles and two summers and two winters is great. 250 miles real world motorway range at 77mph. And crazy charging speeds upto 233kW meaning 10-80% in 18 minutes at a suitably fast DC charger is absolutely achievable. It’s simply a joy. Any negatives - only a few it has no ski pass through, is dual not tri-climate ( though rear passengers do get great vent control).
@@Antiguan_Dart Thank you for another in depth reply. We too like a mix of physical and digital buttons. Some of these vehicles require you to go 3 steps deep into the touch screen panel just to adjust a feature which could have been conveniently accomplished with a physical switch. Have a great weekend!
Nice video. Bro, please cover EVs from Volvo, Hyundai, Mercedes and Lotus...among others as well and not just 1 price segment.
Thanks for your comment. Look out for our reviews on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6, the Volvo C40 and the Smart #1. Already shot the videos but need time to edit. We also did a test drive of the Ioniq 5. We're trying to find the time to do a test drive of the Ioniq 6.
I've played golf at the club next door a couple of times.
And how many balls did you lose again? Hahahah!
I like the interior of the Atto 3, so different but my wife does not like it. Rear passenger space ok, just slightly smaller than the Atto 3. For me range is most important for EV.
I thought you were going for the C40.
Nice review
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Would you choose the Atto 3 or the Omoda E5 and what would be your deciding factor? Some prefer the Atto 3's interior, so different from anything else that's out there. But others prefer the stately looking interior of the E5.
BYD Seal, a better value buy than Tesla... by a mile.
Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment. Many people share that same thought but for different reasons. What were the features that influenced your opinion?
We need two doors model coupe so badly, now there is nothing on the market, one seal coupe it will fit right on the spot especialy with solid state bateries...!!!
Hmm... Didn't think of that. If there's enough demand, a coupe could be a possibility. Fingers crossed.
luckily the boot can fit my golf bag.
Best quality car. I am driving right now. Best best

Nice vid bro
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Only long range car that you can charge 100% every time. Great for planning long trips
Thanks to the Blade battery tech, of course. Many people don't know that BYD was and still is a battery manufacturer, hence the advantage they have here.
The cars have so much crap that we don't use...
Yeah, we know what you mean. We remember when we first bought flagship smartphones. The first couple of weeks were so exiting playing with all the bells and whistles. After the excitement waned, we just used the basic functions. This was before all the shopping, banking and eWallet apps came along. We also remember when cars first offered AT. People used to say it was for those who don't know how to drive that they needed an AT to change gears for them. Now it's a must have. Can't wait to see how they build on this. Thanks for your comment, btw. We love to hear your views and opinions. It does not matter if you agree with ours or not. It's always enlightening to see another side of things. Out of curiosity, which features do you think the Seal could do without?
Software update can change a lot. Just wait. Things will be interesting. Same goes to our gadget nowadays 😄
Crap comment
what do you mean design not original? you should show some respect to their chief designer Wolfgang Egger who was design head of Alfa Romeo, Audi, Lamborghini
Thanks for your feedback. You've done your homework. Our opinion was not to put down the designer as we did mention we prefer this design over the Tesla Model 3. In fact our opinion is shared by other content creators on other channels. It's just something people noticed. At the launch, potential buyers could be heard saying, "This part reminds me of X car" or "That part looks like the one from Y car" Is it a bad thing? Judging from the sales - certainly not! We still remember the BMW X6 and X4; following it was the Mercedes GLE Coupe and GLC Coupe, which took inspiration from the BMW. That said, after the CLS was launched, a few models from other marques took inspiration from that design. We may even see other cars models take inspiration from BYD designs in the future. BYD brought in this acclaimed designer to give their cars a continental look and feel, and he succeeded. Design cues were inspired by other makes and injected with identity unique to BYD. It takes skill to blend many influences into one complete design package and the Seal is testament to this designer's creativity. Hats off to him. In this market segment, the design has to be 'safer' and appeal to a wider audience, which is why the final design in often the toned down version of the concept. If you're going to design a proper supercar, like the fantastic looking BYD Yangwang U9, you have more possibilities in terms of design. What do you think is the best feature of the Seal?
Do you fancy the BYD Seal? Let us know in the comments.
Good for Europe, drowned in USA. Tesla dominates the charging station market, no one comes close in the US. All other EV makers are begging for charging access.
Thanks for your comment, Jose. We hear Tesla might be opening their chargers for other cars makers. Do keep us informed on what's happening where you are with regards to EV.
My vote and money goes to BYD Seal.
Thanks for commenting. Why did you choose the BYD Seal? What was the deal breaker?
@@LynaVasyVoyage i have been driving Camry Hybrid for the past 7+ years and it is time for change. I started looking for a car since early Oct 2023 with a budget of around RM 200K. Current model of Camry is not in my consideration due to lack of Hybrid powertrain even though Toyota gave massive discount of 15K during year end 2023. Honda gave even bigger discount for Accord but it is the model to be phased out in Malaysia market, so Accord also not my choice. Nissan Teana no longer on sales and i do not feel comfortable with other Japanese maker including Mazda. Forget continental cars as i had bad experience in the past. Unless if i opt for re-conditioned/used car, there are really not that many choices with the budget given. The remaining options are Honda CRV Hybrid and BYD Seal. By early Nov 2023, the final price of Honda CRV Hybrid was still yet to be revealed though SA had informed me about the estimated price which i think is reasonable and BYD Seal launching is still undecided and estimated to be at around RM 200K for Premium variant. i decided to place a booking for Honda CRV Hybrid on 15 Nov 2023. When CRV Hybrid finally launch, I visited and test drove and it was acceptable with minor disappointments (hard plastic rear seat door panel and lack of BSM) but i am ok with it. On the day BYD Seal pricing is announce, i was pleasantly surprised that it is RM 20K cheaper than earlier estimate and i immediately made arrangement for test drive. After the test drive, i cancelled my Honda CRV Hybrid (haven't got the car yet) and go for BYD Seal instead. Yes, that RM 20K lesser made the difference although previously i already know that BYD Seal's exterior, interior, ride comfort and build quality seems to be better after months of surfing the internet for BYD Seal review. I did not consider Tesla Model 3 as in my opinion, it is too simple and the feeling and perceived quality is no match for BYD Seal. I have a feeling that if you change the BYD batch to Merc or BMW, it can easily sell at least 2X the price of BYD Seal and yes, i am taking about E class and 5 series level if not higher.
@@LynaVasyVoyage, exterior, interior, ride comfort and build quality better than many cars that is more expensive. Tesla Model 3 doesn't come close. If you change the BYD badge to Merc or BMW, there will be people who are willing to pay at least 2 times the price. Yes I am talking about E class or 5 series level if not higher.
@boonchewchan8245 Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. We heard similar comments from other car buyers. Do come back and share your feedback about the car with us; the good and the bad.
3.8s to 100 is no joke. But the Premium is good enough for me and much better for my wallet.
same😂, i go for aurora white
@@moncimoov How do you find the car so far?
@@LynaVasyVoyage still waiting to be delivered around april-may
@@moncimoov Can't wait for you to get your new car. Hope you enjoy it. Keep in touch.
I like the space the of the model 3 but I like the design of the Seal better. I think the driver screen, HUD and physical buttons are features I have to consider. I think I need to test drive this before I decide. I've already driven the model 3 and it was pretty good but having to look to the main screen to view your speed takes a bit of getting use to.
I missed out on the free home charger. Only free for 1st 800 buyers.
Please cover BYD Seal. Today is the launch. One tip, don't move so fast. Need time to see all the features.
Suggestion noted, thanks. We'll be having a look at the BYD Seal this weekend.
Nice keep on sharing 😊😊
Thanks, I really Appreciate it! 😃😃
