To be completely honest i can see this fight going the same way it went with ventress I.E yoda toys with kylo and doesn’t take him seriously as a threat i can even see him taking kylo's lightsaber and than handing it back like with ventress

is there any way to react your opponets saber attack then parry? i have 50ms and i rly cant do it without predicting but when i verse germans they are able to parry my every swing and it feels like reacting yk

"tech" is just another name for game bugs being exploited. It would great if all this "tech" were genuine, properly functioning saber combat mechanics the devs put in the game.

Getting hit mid-dodge is the worst feeling in a duel (especially against Vader)

I was trying to practice this in the campaign (im assuming you can do it in the campaign i was just playing to get a feel first and all) Can i get a button combo written out for say xbox or just actions Is it dodge/dash and jump then swing almost all together or in quick sucession or am i missing something. I cant tell if im doing it in campaign so coop ai is next, but still confused somehow. Prob just need to play first and get used to the controls before going straight into tech I usually try to just learn tech off rip so im not super behind as i am already but this may be a first where I have to play the game first to practice tech

So how do you get better

Full matchup analysis below if anyone's interested. ;) 1. Dooku vs. Rey: Very much in favor of dooku, his lightning counters Rey's dash strike unless she can hit multiple perfect dash strike combos (dash strike with 2 or 3 follow-up hits) during one match. Dooku's damage is what really wins him the duel here; optionally, many dooku players run fast recharge lightning, which is even worse for Rey. 2. Maul vs. Rey: Usually Maul is the clear favorite, but Rey's 3 dodges make her significantly more agile, but that's about it. Maul again only has to dodge dash strike combos basically, and he wins due to lightsaber chip damage (always one hit or possibly 2 if he catches Rey in a bad dash strike). Additionally, Rey's dash strike (or any hit really) can be frametraped, and given that you execute the full combo, it is devastating to Rey. 3. Kylo vs. Obi-Wan: Even if you know nothing about actual proper dueling, you can guess this match is unwinnable for Kylo and very challenging to even draw vs. any semi-competent obi. I don't need to go into more depth; obi = op & Kylo = back to the lobby. 4. Vader vs. Luke: Yeah, pretty obvious here as well. The best character by far, even uncarded (Obi is 2nd), wins all matchups. Luke is especially powerless; this is a lost match, almost impossible to draw for Luke given there are battleground boundaries as it is common in every dueling tournament. 5. Maul vs. Anakin: Now in hindsight, for low-level duelists, that matchup favors Maul due to stamina drain pressure, etc. However, given both players are higher-level duelists, this matchup is very even, if not slightly in favor of Anakin. Anakin's damage is devastating to Maul's slow regen and if Anakin hits several knockdowns or even full combos, Maul can't do anything and loses. Anakin's middle and his pull (although I'm not 100% on the latter) can be frametraped, but with the amount of health Anakin has, that's not such a big threat in general. Every spin from Maul can be parried, the lightsaber gets 1 hit maximum, and frame traps can really turn on you if you miss a single choke. Furthermore, Anakin's passionate strike is one of the best finishing moves, guaranteeing a kill if Maul is low. Yes, Maul can run away, but again, boundaries are there, and most maps don't have that much space. 6. Rey vs. Grievous: So the main thing this duel revolves around is Grievous's skill level. His damage is crazy with the right jump swing/stagger or knockdown combos, and just by trading, he can secure an easy victory. However, Rey has again 3 dodges, making her capable of dodging many attacks, and if she's lucky after 2 full dash strike combos, the duel is very even IF she manages to get those. Overall, a win for Grievous, but it's not uncommon for a good Rey player to win vs. sb who maybe hasn't really gotten the hang of Grievous's play style. 7. Obi wan vs. Maul: Very much in favor of Obi wan; he's just one of the best duelists out there with his abilities. That middle denies any pressure or advantages that Maul has in this duel. If used correctly, Maul can do nothing here even if a couple of sabers hit, and he manages to catch Obi in a frame trap after an awful d-rush. The regen is just unparalleled and no match for Maul. 8. Luke vs. Vader: already analyzed above; check matchup no. 4. 9. Rey vs. dooku: already analyzed; check matchup no. 1. 10. Anakin vs. Kylo: Kylo sadly is the worst saber to duel with. Anakin wins here by far, not only due to damage but simply because all of Kylo's abilities can be blocked/denied or even parried by Anakin, which leaves no possibility for Kylo to win. A draw can be achieved, though unlikely, because of passionate, which is a block breaker, and solely by trading Anakin wins due to his damage output. 11. Obi-Wan vs. Dooku: As stated previously, Obi-Wan's kit is almost unmatched for dueling, meaning dooku has very little chance to win this duel, which clearly favors Obi-Wan. However, one thing about dooku is that his comeback potential is not to underestimate. What I mean by this is that his damage output can be insanely high with duelist + exposed weakness active, meaning that you are never fully safe unless you're full hp basically. Unfortunately, dooku heavily relies on his lightning to enable all of this damage to happen, which Obi Wan can denie him, making him far less powerful but still viable. His only hope is to get an insane lightning + duelist + weakness active combo and then pressure/spam the enemy with hooks until something connects to get a hit and win the duel. Skilled obi wan players will most likely never let that happen, so long story short, obi wins or should win 9.5/10 duels. And that was everything, which brings us to an end. Please note that this is mostly a theoretical analysis, and not all things are as black and white as I may have described them in the above. A lot of shit can happen xDD during a duel, to put it lightly. With that, thank you very much for reading.
