Palazzo Ventimiglia Suites is on Via Vittorio Emanuele, one of Palermo's main streets. It’s a great spot to stay - a beautiful pedestrian street that’s lively day and night, with people walking around constantly. It’s safe, no worries there. As for the place itself, I’ve never stayed there, but I’ve visited it. A lot of people from the WeArePalermo community have stayed and told me they had a great time. The only thing I’ve heard is that the Wi-Fi isn’t the best - but honestly, that’s pretty common in hotels here in Italy. Hope this helps, and thanks for the love on the videos!

Unfortunately, most apartments in Palermo are managed by real estate agencies, and the only way to find long-term rentals is through sites like Idealista or Subito.com. The problem is, not all agents speak English, so when they see a message in English, they often just don’t reply. I totally get how frustrating this is - I’m on your side, and yeah, it sucks, but that's just how it is here. What I’d recommend is calling them directly. Sometimes, they’ll put someone on the phone who speaks English, or you can at least set up an appointment to view the apartment. Locals here usually call, check out the apartment, and if they're interested, go to the agency to make an offer. It’s a hassle, I know, but calling might be your best shot. Good luck!

Ciao! Ostello Bello Palermo is definitely in a safe area. If you don’t mind walking, you can easily reach the major attractions on foot. The epicenter of the historic center is Quattro Canti (The Four Corners), and Ostello Bello is just a 15-minute walk from there

Ciao! Balestrate is a really small seaside town. In the summer, it’s pretty lively with a nice beach vibe, but in the winter, there’s honestly not much going on. There’s not a ton to do, especially during the off-season, so it really depends on the kind of lifestyle you want. It’s also about an hour’s drive from Palermo, and public transportation isn’t super frequent, especially in the winter. It’s a cute place, but maybe a little too quiet for some people!

Linen could work just fine for daytime, especially if you’re coming from somewhere cooler-it’ll give you that light, breathable feel while it's still warm. In the evening, though, it might feel a little chilly for linen. Just so you know, linen is usually seen as more of a spring-summer fabric in Italy, so locals don’t often wear it in autumn. Yeah, unfortunately, the whole random fireworks thing is a phenomenon that affects much of Italy from Rome down. There have been numerous police investigations trying to figure out why it happens, and the truth is, not much is clear. Some say it’s a form of communication between criminals, other times it’s for prisoners’ birthdays, or even just for neighborhood parties. The frustrating part is that not much is being done to stop this annoying practice, which causes a lot of stress for locals, especially elderly people and pets. There have been calls to the government to toughen the penalties for those setting off these fireworks and for those illegally selling them, but of course, nothing has really changed. So even if they catch people shooting them off or selling them in shady ways, the law doesn’t allow for harsh punishment. Italy’s an amazing country with a lot of incredible things, but like every place, it has its flaws and some inexplicable stuff that drives you nuts-this is one of those things. It’s been a problem for decades, and like many other issues, it seems like nobody really wants to solve it. Unfortunately, we locals have just learned to live with it. I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. The best solution is usually earplugs and keeping the windows shut. Most locals install double-pane windows to reduce outside noise, but I’m not sure if the place you’re staying in has enough soundproofing to prevent those middle-of-the-night wake-ups

I'm totally with you on this one-couldn't have said it better myself. I've traveled a lot for work and spent tons of time in places that are technically considered dangerous, like Lebanon, Brazil, Mexico, and so many others, and honestly, I've had some of the happiest days of my life there. Like you said, it’s all about respecting the place and the people, not acting like an idiot. Sometimes we think that just because we can get away with acting a certain way at home, we can do the same everywhere we go, but that’s not how it works. Every place is different, and it's on us to adapt, show some respect, and just be aware of the culture we're in. It’s not the place that has to adjust to us. Keep your head straight, and you'll be fine anywhere

Ciao! Unfortunately, the shared taxi doesn't go all the way to Mondello. It follows the same route as the Prestia e Comandè shuttle bus. You can check the stops for both the shared taxi and the shuttle here: www.prestiaecomande.it/orari-e-linee/. To get to Mondello, you'll need to get into the city first, then take bus 806, or you can explore other routes from the city depending on where you get off using this site: www.moovitapp.com/palermo-2804/poi/en. The only way to go directly from the airport to Mondello is by taking a regular taxi.
