Freshening up a 1971 GTO. Part 1 : Pulling the engine.
This GTO came in the shop to be freshened back up and be road ready. we will be finials the suspension, brakes, leaks etc and it will be getting undercoat, frame will be painted as well. Stay tuned to see the finished product!

How short do you cut the drive shaft
This was a while back so im not 100% sure but I think I cut 16 inches off. I believe I may have mentioned it in one of my videos.
@@musclecustoms1967 ok no worries man I was just wondering if you cut the same off the drive shaft and the frame I’m getting ready to start a small project my self and just want to make sure I have everything down before I start and mess somthing up
@@user-le7ox9vf4w you will have to take the drive shaft to a driveshaft shop they will have to cut and rebalance it for you.

We had the 59. Grille is composed of 300 pieces. Anodized AL. Stayed bright and corrosion free for the 12 years my folks owned it.
About how many hours in removing the front clip ?
I live around lake eufaula ok. You can't find those trucks around here and if you do they are outrageous. I keep looking I would love to have one

4k includes a rebuilt shortened drive shaft, shortened brake line, plus bleeding the brakes, shortened taillight harness, shortened bed, and shortened and reinforced frame.

About to start this… if you measure from inside the header panel to 12” and 28” how did you get the measurements on the outside of the bed since the end of the bed has a factory flare out?

Did you know wich is the size from the chasis in the front shere seat the bumper, i have one like this and belive than is oversized... wanna fix if be wrong

Yes they're not as common as a longbed so a shortbed is worth more.

Yes factory paint. I do not know the name sorry. The front is crown vic suspension.
You have a 390 with an automatic transmission what transmission did you use.
Good job clean work! Question, if you were gonna 4 link and coil over it why not cut the spring perches and 16 inches off the back end... no welding required...
Most people leave the factory suspension on there. Im going independent rear suspension in the near future

Frames are not the same. Plus i enjoyed the process!
@@musclecustoms1967 hay, I know about F 100s I build and modify them I drive a 79 F100 every day and what you did to chassis is totally I'll legal here my engineer would not pass it for on the road, here, ok you did a good job the Mexican put a 79 f100 on a 71 chassis and no cutting off chassis and it looks good nice and neat

Why not use a plasma cutter it's a lot quicker to do the job
