It's far larger than I expected. Running thru at full speed is not a problem. But make sure if your boat is setup for sea level running you need a prop a few sizes of pitch smaller. Lake Powell is 5000ft elev. We lost about 20 mph top speed and struggled to get on plane with a full boat. But this was the best trip Ive done with my boat.

    • @FREEHAND.WETGRINDER

Good question. I did this with my first sib as well. But when I was 20 I prebuilt it on a trailer only if the weather was very hot or if I was hitting several diffrent bodys of water. But now the reason is Im almost 70 years old and the location I boat in is about 110 to 125 deg. And if you didn't do the math the motor weighs 250 lbs. I can't lift it. Now the next question to why I have a sib? I hate paying for boat storage and I sold my last boat because of the storage cost. but this small boat just fits in my garage and spends much of the time folded up in the small shed I have. How much could storage be your now thinking? for my last boat a 19' I/O was $2400 per year. And you had to give 36 hr lead time to pull it out of storage. Life sometimes is a compromize. Now your probably asking yourself why even bother if I have to compromise so much? Because I like BEER and the lake makes the beer even better!

After many failed attempts to repair the air leaks in both of my Zodiac MkIII speed tubes, I finally came to the conclusion they cannot be fixed. I have tried patches, seam sealer from the inside, aqua seal and just pumping them up every single day. ENOUGH! I ordered some 2 part foam and decided to fill them with closed cell foam. This was not easy, but I found a technique that was successful. Tools: knife or scissors to cut tube material, I used a victornox fixed blade knife. Very sharp. Plastic paint mixing cups at least 28 oz quart or liter sized, have at least 6 on hand Paint mixing paddles and a drill (amazon $10 for a dozen) A plastic 1 quart milk jug cut in half to make a sort of funnel. 4 flimsy plastic bags like what you use at the market for veggies 2 people A large bin for accidents (you will understand in time) thin rope or twine First, I cut around the patch where the inflation tubes connect to the speed tubes and drain any water out Using the rope or twine, hang the tube up with the fat end at the top and this is where you will be working from. The tube must be vertical for this to work. The goal here is to get the plastic bag in the tube but fill it from the outside of the tube. insert the open end of the flimsy plastic bag, up through the milk jug small hole, bring it through and over the cut edges of the milk jug, like it's a trash bag liner, but now it's lining the funnel. Stuff the closed end of the bag into the hole in the speed tube and by blowing in the open end, you can inflate the bag a bit and also be sure the throat is clear to pour the foaming mix through. mix the 2 part foam according to the directions on the package, mine said pour the clear part into the mixing cup first, then the dark part. I would make no more than ~28oz at a time, very important. If you have never used this stuff before, I suggest you do a tiny batch to see how it reacts, maybe a 4oz +4oz batch and watch it go so you understand how much time you have. Mix for exactly 20 seconds, no more, and try to get it a uniform yellow color in that time. Pour the mix through your plastic bag lined funnel into the bag which should be inside the tube and once it's all in there, drop the bag to the bottom of the tube, where it will expand and fill the tube from the bottom. You might ask why all this effort and plastic bag nonsense? If you just pour the mix in, it will stick to the insides of the tube and start expanding and block off your ability to get the bottom filled. By dropping the plastic bag to the bottom, it will all expand down there from the bottom and foam upwards. You will have to do this at least twice and then after the two bag drops, you can just make smaller batches and fill the rest up just by pouring it in. Tips, mix 20 seconds and POUR, fast, have someone holding the funnel in place and ready to go. Wait about 5-10 minutes between pours. Make sure everything is at least 70 deg F to start, the foam won't expand well if colder. You will need more than the product suggests, the inner volume of the MK3 speed tubes is 1.8 cubic feet each. I used almost 3/4 of the "2lb" kit on one tube. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RP8DNDB foam www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHS4HS5Z mixers www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VUNXIA/ cups When you want to put the tubes in place, try and elevate the boat and support it maybe on the trailer, or hang it, but get it up higher than sitting on the deck, I hung mine from the ships crane. get a bucket with warm water and squirt some dish soap in it to make a super soapy mix, slather it all over the tube and have someone keep slathering as you slip the tube into the sleeves under the boat, I used a 4x4 as a hammer to smack the tube in the last foot or so, it was tight. If you do this, remember you will not be able to fold these tubes up ever again, so understand that. You may not be able to get them out of the sleeves again either, I make no promises. I have had this boat for 10 years and only rolled it up once. My next one will be a hard bottom RIB. Good luck.

I'd rather make a trailer out of aluminum and at least I'll have a stop light and turn signals and at least my trailer will cling to the trunk and not to the wheels because if the Trailer clings to the wheels then the wheel will be broken and the wheel will break and you don't have to write that you can't put a stop light on a bike and the turn signals are still as far as possible on a regular high-speed bike and on a fatbike, not on an electric bike and not on an electric fatbike, and I also forgot to write that my trailer will be closed for all countries and also made of aluminum First, we buy aum from electro great Secondly, we buy a headlight in front with a signal from an electric bike And thirdly, we buy a stop signal and turn signals from an electric bike And fourthly, we buy a handlebar extension on a bike And fifth, we buy turn signals from moto to put in front And sixth, we buy a 12 volt converter in order for the turn signals from the moto to work both in front and on the trailer and a stop signal And in the saddle, we buy an outlet for the trailer And in addition, we buy a turn signal from moto on the trailer, as well as a stop signal And at 9 and at the bike Camper, all this will be what I wrote above And at 10 on the Dog Trailer, too, that's all that I wrote above

a trailer that clings to the trunk is a billion times better than a side trailer catch a dislike if you don't know that a passenger trailer for a bicycle is better than a side trailer where only one person can sit is firstly and secondly trailers for a bicycle are a billion times better unhooked Trailer and attached another let's say cargo or let's say a bicycle camper or let's say a carriage for a bicycle where both two people and three can sit, or let's say a dog trailer where at least there will be a stop light and turn signals, unlike your bike

Noting that. I thank you for handling the translation.

Peter, You did a VERY nice job on the build but you’re totally wrong about sidecar geometry. It’s true trike wheels are in line but It’s totally different for a sidecar. Search google for “sidecar geometry diagram”. There will be many results. They will all show the sidecar wheel between 8 and 10 inches ahead of the cycles rear wheel. There are many reasons for this. The main reason is it makes a sidecar rig turn EASIER and keeps the cycle rear wheel on the ground when turning left under braking with a load in a right hand sidecar. Sidecar Bill

  • @indianbill
