The September House by Carissa Orlando Review-- Family drama in a haunted house

This review forcuses more on the Hartman family, particularly the relationship between Margaret and her daughter Katherine.
Margaret Hartman's husband, Hal, has been missing for more than a month. She's not worried about it, but their daughter Katherine is. From there, "The September House" comes into its own as a mother-daughter drama with haunted house elements.
"The September House" is Orlando's debut novel. It combines pyschology, marital issues, parent-child troubles, and the supernatural.
It's recommended for fans of psychological horror with light body gore.

Welcome to Heroine Chic Reviews. In this video, I share the goal of the channel and three recent releases ("The Drowning Woman" by Robyn Harding, "My Murder" by Katie Williams, and "The Glow" by Jesse Gaynor) on my TBR. I hope you will join me as I read women written by women and analyze them and their conflicts.
I couldn't understand why people are hyping this when the end makes everything pointless. It's just misery dressed up. The trauma exploration was not done well in my opinion, the author had the chance to make something really compelling, and it ended "realistic" and that's a waste of a good story.
The most honest review of this book. I couldn't really connect with the book and didn't really understand the hype around it.
