Sony SLO-1700 testing in the workshop
This is a Sony Betamax PAL SLO-1700 duplicator machine playing a tape recorded in 1994 off air. The VCR is connected to a scope displaying the video RF showing (it's a bit difficult to see) output from one head is a bit lower than the other. There's also a band nearer the top of the picture with reduced chroma output, which could be the recording made on a Sony C7.
This is an experimental video of a short test only.
We plan to do many more videos soon with different types of old tech including broadcast gear with in depth testing, diagnosis and talking on camera about this fascinating stuff!
More will be announced soon!
