On the surface, Lance looks very boring and slow, but its actually the most reactive and aggressive weapon, imo. Its not about holding block and being defensive, its about staying in the combat. Every other weapon has longer attack animations/combos, so they have to wait for an opening, land an attack or so, and roll out. Lance stays in there the WHOLE time. The footwork makes the weapon quick and nimble. Like keretaman mentioned, its like boxing. You bob and weave and counter and land quick, precise blows during the smallest openings when other weapons cant. I would 100% recommend trying it, but you have to learn the movement for it, since its unlike any other weapon. It feels slow and clunky at first but once you learn the footwork, it feels more like an actual dance with the monsters.

4:25 actually, Lance is far from passive. In fact, you're always on the offensive to make up for the low damage per hit. Counters are bread and butter. Lance hunts are very fast paced because you never leave the monster's face. It's like like boxing or playing sekiro I wouldn't recommend the lance to a new player because the movement is very different from other weapons. You move around with guard advances, hops, lance charge (and for iceborne, clutch claw counter). Play the other weapons first and then try the lance a bit later.

That dodge move is the Adept dodge from MH Generations or basically the MH World Temporal Mantle but not automatic

DO YOU HEAR THAT? THE HUNTING HORN MAINS ARE COMING! AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

Hunting Horn mains are EATING this game. They added tons of new stuff to the weapon you probably didn't notice but this version is basically a mix of World + Rise + GU. The base moveset is very similar to World's but is significantly faster since the end-lag that made the weapon slow have been basically dumbed down/removed. The moves are the same speed but you can act way sooner out of them, giving you quicker access to notes and combos. The Echo Bubbles are also massive now, they were like a small little circle before but now they're a full-on AOE attack lmao. Doing recital inside of them also seems to do the Wirebug attack Bead Reasonance from rise where it would do sound shockwave attacks whenever you did a move but the damage is waaaaaay higher this time around. That attack where the Hunter slammed the head of the Horn into the Monster's head and did a solo is also another Wirebug move from Rise called the Earthshaker (and its the Horns Focus Strike attack). Was huge in frame commitment but the damage was massive, seems to be even stronger since it's a multi-hit. I have a little theory that using that using the focus strike attack on a monster below an Echo Bubble will cause it to attack just like a recital but unsure, hoping it does. God I need this game NOW lol.
