Teaching in Japan, I discovered that presenting flash cards were an excellent way to build a child's vocabulary, reading, and general knowledge. I've compiled decks of slides that can help our students learn a wide variety of subjects. Simply have your learner listen, repeat, and attempt to say the pictures on their own.

Today I visited Miyagase Lake to see what birds they have. As soon as I parked, I say varied tits, brown-eared bul buls, large-billed crows, and there were two black kites just sitting on the wires overhead. For the winter break we drove to Osaka. I’m a bird watcher now, so I had to go by Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park Lake to see ducks that we don’t have in our area. First I noticed the Eurasian Wigeon. On a visit to the island of Oahu in Hawaii, as a birder, I added about 14 birds to my list. Here is the black-crowned night-heron. The juveniles have brown feathers, while the adults have black and gray feathers.
Eurasian Coots

Last December, at the golf course, was the first time I saw Eurasian coots. It seems they winter here, on the Sagami River. I videoed these two enjoying some breakfast on this day.

Dragonfly for Baby

Went back to check on the barn swallows. Their nest has been moved from the top of the utility box to the top of the light fixture. The barn swallow couple has since laid eggs, and it appears that they have four mouths to feed. I was able to get footage of one of them being fed a dragonfly. Enjoy!
