what gear 2-3 ?
Scary moment when you start the engine and there's no oil in the sight glass! You must have put the bike on the side stand off camera
감사합니다
I wonder what the purpose is of the cable hose thing that goes from the right side oil filter to a electric valve ? Great video thanks
It provides oil to the top end.
My granny rides better on the back wheel
Thanks amigo!! Back rippin, Braaaap!
Picked up the 2012 model under 4k tricked it out cracking motors 👍

Which yoshimura did you get?
They should make a tether kill switch option for water crossings to prevent hydro lock.
Q
Vs ?????????????
Thanks
What part of Indiana are you in? I'm about to purchase an 1190 myself
Your procedure is slightly incorrect, follow the owners manual and remove all filters and screens leaving the drain plug out. You'll end up with more residual dirty oil in the engine by reinstalling the drain plug when you did. On my stock 2012 Duke I drop the centre box off to change the oil.I found KTM genuine filters are no more expensive, possibly even cheaper than hiflo in the UK.
Hiflo is better ;) also it is one of first steps to replace the stock air filter with k&n. You are right about the drain. I lock it always after everything is ready, then addup 0,5l of pre-heated fresh oil as a flush and drain it once more. This allows all the junk from the bottom to flow out. Also i always start changing the oil when its hot (not warm). This gives much better results.
@@boguslav1479 I disagree hiflo is any better than KTM genuine filters. I've had both but would chose factory over hiflo. K&N is a waste of time and money on the airfilter in my opinion.
Hi, did you have it remap? or did any other mods? no backfires? thanks :)
Joseph Santos no remapping, and the exhaust is the only mod. And I have had no backfires. It sounds a lot better in person.
awesome!!!
How much oil/what kind and man I was waiting for you to drop a screw into the fill hole😂
Kerry King I believe it is 1.8 qt. And I use motrex 10w50 or 10w60
How often do you have to do this ?
R Ahmed I change the oil at the beginning of every riding season and again if I go over 5,000 miles
Hey bro would it be cool with you if I use this for one of our compilations? I'll credit you and add a link to your video in the description. Thanks.
Yeah that would be great!
Thanks man :)
Stay Out, Stay Alive. Mine sites are very dangerous territory. Learn the facts, below: arlweb.msha.gov/SOSA/facts.asp
Did you replace, or clean the screens?
i cleaned mine, i inspect them and make sure they look good before putting them back in.
Thanks for sharing, and keep posting, as I too am planning to embark on ADV riding like you. Many have warned me of the pitfalls not too dis-similar to what having to go through, now I understand. Will like to track your progress so keep at it.
Thanks and good luck with your ADV riding!
Hey man. Would be cool use this video in my new Compilation Video? i will give you full credit in my description! You like this?
Yeah sure!
Hi Barney Ross, your video is uploaded for my Channel. Thanks alot for letting use me. Check video! - Kawasaki Ninja 300 On Flooded Streets & Flood Water Crossing Fails!
Are those filters the same part #'s? I wish you had the stock exhaust on there its way more of a pain in the ass.
No, they are different part numbers. When i get a chance ill find and post the part numbers. I have changed the oil twice with the stock exhaust and your right it is a pain in the ass!
@@TheBarneyRoss Yes they are same part numbers.
What wax did you use?
Eagle One NanoWax
Does it use one tall and one short filter?
yes it does.
would you recommend the 1190 adventure to someone who has only ridden a maxi scooter before for 4 years? im so in love with this bike (the 1190 not the duke^^)
i would recommend the 1190 adventure to almost anyone, its a great bike! One of its downfalls is its seat hight. If your a shorter ride, it can be challenging at stops and on off road sections ( if you choose to take it off road).
im 1.86m so this shouldnt be too much a problem... my only concern is its rideability in city traffic; how does it handle low speed situations? jerky, smooth? does rain mode work in reducing the engines jerkiness?
its pretty smooth at low rpm. and I've only had it in rain mode once and it was on the freeway at high rpm, so I'm not sure how much it changes at low rpm.
stand up a little more. foot pegs to shift you waight about. but still good effort. still a 990 fan. dont think i could jump to the 1190....but have you seen the new 1290r 2017 model....ohhhhh 😊. i love the 990 as its on off and ruf ready.. the newer 1190 and 1290 super and the new new 1290r are to shiny and ££££££££. keep it up get the adventure used to the full
Good advice! As soon as the weather is better i plan on doing some more adventuring and i will try and get better. and i have seen the new 1290r and it looks amazing!
Was there any way of preventing the front to slide out?
Im not sure on how to prevent it but i know why my front end washed out. I was in too low of a gear and my rear wheel started to spin out and when i went to correct it the front end slid out.
First let me say that I am a BMW GS rider so I can relate to why you guys are doing this, however, I also am a member of the Madison Port Authority. We Own and Operate the Madison Railroad and as such, own this property you are seen here riding upon. This video was actually called to the attention of our Board by Railroad Management during today's Board meeting! You need to know that the Board didn't think this was very "Cool" at all. Let me say we have NOT abandoned this trackage as you say and although we have approved a hiking trail along the lower part of the trackage, it is also posted with much signage stating that motorized vehicles are not allowed. As we are very concerned about the safety of persons trespassing on our trackage, we must and do take all trespass situations on our property very seriously. Riding on this specific trackage, or any railroad trackage, even if it should happen to be abandoned as ours IS NOT, can be very dangerous as was proven by the guy that dumped his KTM.. He is very lucky that he didn't significantly injure himself and/or damage his bike. If he had broken his leg, as you guys thought, that location the "Hill" requires a lot of time for medical first responders to get to... NOT GOOD! And filming a Trespass!!! What were you guys thinking? At any rate, you three OR anyone that sees this video...please respect the Railroad's property...do not ride on the Property of the Madison Railroad again. If caught, it could mean an immediate charge of Trespass and your bikes could be impounded... Just pointing out the obvious!
What crash bars are those? Any damage to the bike in the fall? I am trying to decide what set of crash bars to get for my 1190. Cheers!
Jeremy Sawatzky They are the KTM crash bars that are made for the 1190, And they work great. I have dropped my bike several times and only the hand guards have been scuffed up.
Thanks for the reply!! Good to know, I have been debating on the ktm bars vs the HEED bars. The heed ones go so much higher but I likely dont need the protection so high up.
Nice Videos Barney
Thanks. hopefully i can make some more here soon.
You should have bought an 1190r that way you wouldn't have been pumped by a bmw GS lol
Lol yeah it would have helped but I'm sure i still would have had trouble, cause I'm not that skilled off road.
Lol fair play to you for admitting it
mc d there is one more problem, the elecreonic suspension.... the R model has a manuel adjustable susp that you can modify to your personal preferences like weight, hight, etc... and yeah the 21" front wheel would have helped to 🔥 but stil good video and good use of the bike. They are made to work hard on difficult terrains
I subbed your nice channel! HUGS
Thank you!
Yey like 1 !!!
What a handsome dog! Looks like he had a blast! My dog, Missy, loves running really fast next to my bike. :)
Thank you! She's my girlfriends dog.

Whoa! Well I hope it was refreshing. :)
I'm just glad it was really hot that day!

Thanks, i try.
