Tama river (#多摩川) commute 🌅🚴
The extended Tamagawa and Arakawa river commutes became my standard commutes in the morning this year. Those commutes extend my commute from 21km to 42km each morning. We humans are such creatures of habit. While at the beginning it took me quite a bit of a psychological adjustment, now it's strange if I take the straight way through the city if I have to.
See you next time.
Stay safe, stay strong.
Get on your bike and be AWESOME !!!

English follows: (unfortunately,the last lap wasn't recorded 😞)

Gladly I managed to hand on and recover and actually started to begin feeling very strong. There have been many attempts for a breakaway many of which I actively disrupted. Big mistake, they would have been caught anyway. Big waste of energy. in...

      Yeah, the child is not to blame at all. 100% agree. We need to do 'bad things' in order to develop empathy, as you already pointed out. But I would have expected the father (let's assume it was the father) to anticipate the second 'assault' 😉

    If you follow dfaa1 the day after a hard session will always be easy.The only time i do hard sessions is when i struggle to get my dfaa1 below 0.75 and with me being over 60yrs that's usually once every 10 days or so ,even less if I'm running more than 7 hrs a week.The days I can easily get my number below 0.75 are the days I wouldn't dare/care to do a hard session.So you picked a good day for the intervals.Keep these coming please,excellent info

    • @MYprefrontalRIDES
      @MYprefrontalRIDES 2 года назад

      Very good way to look at it! Just checked my training log and saw that I had a VO2max workout the day before. So I wasn't really fresh for this workout and I would have expected my DFAa1 to drop easier. But I am usually very fit at that time of the year (September). This time of the year it's much easier for me to drop DFAa1. Would be interesting to track DFAa1 systematically over the season.

    • @LeoShoSilva
      @LeoShoSilva 2 года назад

      @@MYprefrontalRIDES Obviously the VO2Max workout couldn't have taken that much out of you otherwise your DFA Alpha-1 would have easily dropped and you wouldn't have felt like doing an interval session the next day.

    There are new versions of AlphaHRV, the Alpha calculation signature is somewhat different, it would be necessary to do a plotting to see how the measurements have gone. AlphaHRV produces practically no artefacts in ant+ because some parameters of the connection were changed.

    • @luiscolon921
      @luiscolon921 Год назад

      My understanding is that ANT+ lacks the granularity that BLE has and is not the recommended connection method for HRV collection/analysis.

  • @LeoShoSilva
    @LeoShoSilva 2 года назад

    Thanks for that,although you could say AlphaHRV has less lag and who is to say which is more accurate? I use fatmaxxer

    • @MYprefrontalRIDES
      @MYprefrontalRIDES 2 года назад

      Good point. However, the fact that AlphaHRV was still in development at this point, at least according to the developer, and that I am using ANT+ instead of BLE makes me believe that Fatmaxxer was the more accurate one. Having said that I was very surprised that, despite prolonging the ramp, I wasn't able to pull DFAa1 below 0.5. Fatmaxxer seems to be very, very battery sensitive. Once battery of my Polar H10 drops below 50% I lose trust into the readings.

    • @LeoShoSilva
      @LeoShoSilva 2 года назад

      @@MYprefrontalRIDESMy hunch is also for fatmaxxer being more accurate.One thing it has never made me do is 2 hard sessions back to back .On certain days when I need to really up the tempo to get the alpha close to 0.75 my warm down recovery is always very good and the next day the pace/HR is always lower close to .75,so it's doing something right.

    • @MYprefrontalRIDES
      @MYprefrontalRIDES 2 года назад

      Yes, I experience the same. HRV/DFAa1 is very sensitive and a good predictor of how you did in your last session. But recently my Fatmaxxer produces a lot of artefacts during the ride. I already have shifted the sensor more towards the left on my chest but still... Not sure what's going on.

    Can't get it to work on my tactix Delta Solar with Polar's H10... The setup is very convoluted and hard to figure out as well... abandoning...

    • @MYprefrontalRIDES
      @MYprefrontalRIDES 2 года назад

      Yeah, setup is not very straight forward. I agree. But it's manageable. According to the developer the app should be compatible with your Garmin watch. Have you checked that your H10 has activate 2 BLE channels? Also, you have to make sure that you delete the BLE pairing with your watch if you want to use the app with BLE. You can than still record HR with your watch using ANT+. If you want to use ANT+ you have to delete the ANT+ pairing of your watch and activate BLE instead. In the app settings you have then to use ANT+ connection settings

      Just went back in history. The two weeks before included some tough workouts. The week in which I've recorded the video was an off-week and I took it easy. Not much riding and only yoga. The actual ride in the video was a 2 hour recovery ride at 150w. So you see, having an easy ride after 1 week of easy riding is not as easy as it looks. I was still pretty fatigued.
