Okay I’ve been trying to find videos on these diapers because I HATE them. I bought them at full price 3 years ago, I tried them at night with my then 8 month old. Soaked. So I’ve tried them now on my third kid just for the day and they last less than my regular day diapers. They are awful!!! A new record was set by my 4 month old who peed out of this exact diaper in 15 minutes. And yes it fits, I had it on correctly. None of my other diapers do this. It’s insane. I just don’t understand how I seem to be the only person on the internet who has issues with these diapers.

The snaps are most likely size 20. The hip snap stud can be covered with a corresponding socket so that it won't irritate your baby, You can buy small packages of plastic snap sockets from the Kamsnap company. kamsnaps.com/

Great first tip. A lot of parenting is just diving right in. There's no way to know it all or prepare enough, even with tons of research. Tip from me? Ask loved ones to gift your baby cloth. I do it all the time. It keeps the cost more affordable for us.

Does the velour get fuzzy from washing with your absorbent materials?

Love your videos, I even followed you on instagram too! I completely agree with these points! I currently use microfiber with a natural fiber insert underneath because natural fiber inserts have increased in price. I don’t have enough natural fiber for my diapers.

RB made up a large part of my stash (not all - but plenty) from 6 mo to 20ish months when my daughter potty trained. Just a couple of notes for folks looking to try -- 1) I find they work better directly against the skin , in a cover or using a pocket like a cover instead of a pocket. I only ever had to double them at night, so I'd try this before resorting to doubling. This also makes it really easy to check and tell if they're wet. I always changed when I noticed my daughter was wet vs. after some period of time and that might be part of why I could get away with 1 at a time. 2) You might want to try water on them before using them as diapers -- if they repel, they have some sort of fabric softener on them that needs to be washed or maybe even stripped out. I feel like new they have something on them, and if you buy at the thrift store there's a chance of softeners 3) Don't use poly blends. 100% cotton is where it's at. Also the ones with embroidery are usable if you have them (fold the embroidery so it's not again your baby's bum or the diaper cover) but not the best option. I could find them at thrift stores for 25cents - $1 at most. So... yeah... cheaper and probably more ecologically friendly than pre-folds. But not quite as convenient because of the folding. (I do think they dry faster, though, so that's another plus.

I just ordered a similar machine that’s a little smaller at 0.9cu.ft. I personally use tide powder but struggling to figure out how much to put in it without too many suds. How can I figure out how much to use?

So true - everyone has their own favourites and you don't know what you'll like until you try it. I say this in my own video but it's a matter of trailing and testing before splashing out (as it can get expensive) so I totally recommend buying second hand first. I also agree with your 'do your own thing', definitely makes sense!

I love that you give advice to your past self, too! One thing you said that I love is don’t just go with what other people say. That’s a huge one! Some people won’t try diapers until I review them and I’m like NooOoO lolol. All of our experiences are so unique and we like different brands and systems for different reasons.

I hate that people claim the only good detergents for these are tide & ALL powder. 🙄 foca did not work for my in my twin tub ( too many suds with even half a tsp. I have 0 ppm soft water) I tried persil proclean after everyone in the group's told me not to. It's what has worked for us! The only thing. Lol.

Lol yes. I've noticed people get so freaking angry over wash routines for diapers. Everyones is different! & that is okay 😊
