That would be an ordinary even for him. Zod was always portrayed as a little more than just a strong demon. His backstory must be complex and integral to the story. I guess we have seen that in the recent chapters where the people seems to live in peace in Falconia while at the same time everyone else outside it lives in fear. I doubt it would be in his favor to against the plans of the Godhand. 2. He’s clearly seen eclipses for previous Godhand members given how long he lived so he knew that once Griffith was at his lowest point, it would mean that everyone close to him would end up dying in the eclipse including Guts. Killing them now would be pointless because now he knows where fate is leading them all.

Memorial edition made this scene amazing actually. They left a few things out but overall they did a amazing job with memorial edition.
