New Epic Solo D&D Actual Play For 2024 Ft. A Dragonbane Twist
Hey, Coach Key! I really enjoy your channel. It was one of the reasons I got into ttrpgs. I was wondering if you ever played the game Dark Fort? It is really simple and quick. It's become my favorite game so far, and best of all it's free! Thanks!
Silly question: do you highlight the rules to help you during play or do you do it to help you review? Thanks, really enjoyed your video.
The artwork in that book appears to be outstanding!!
This was great! I didn't realize that there was more to the Loner series. My ears perked up when you talked about the Lantern of Souls, and I was like dang! That sounds D O P E. I just started rolling up a dungeon using Perplexing Ruins' one page dungeon generator. I highly recommend it. Anyway, it sparked the idea for "The Infested Hideout of Forgotten Spirits." It will be an 8 room location with all sorts of un-dead and possibly an evil sorcerer. The lantern was the impetus to the whole thing, which is super cool and thanks for doing it. I hope all is well with you! 👽👍
Nice review. If I only wanted to play in Kwaidani would I still need the Loner solo book or are the express rules enough? I know that Loner has a larger edition that I think adds some sample settings. While you were making your character, I was hoping you’d chose your own and name them Bruce Leeroy, The First Dragon. Looking forward to see how this turns out.
I was just looking at this game. I am thinking now that I should pick it up. Thank you for sharing this. 😊
The most important detail needed to mention, is the small release showing how to use D&D adventures is incredible. Opens a flood gate of new material.
Thank you ☺️.
I've been going down this rabbit hole of solo ttrpg's for the last month and I really really appreciate your channel, I had ker nethalas but your play through vid helped me get a handle on it and find the fun and now I've discovered dragonbane through this vid, much appreciated and all the best!!
Thanks for your contributions to the community. Will you be attending conventions? Would be neat to bump into you and have a chat.
I went to my first conventions this year down in GA ☺️. I loved it and I’m looking forward to visiting others. Which ones do you go to?
@@LegendsDiceCafe I went to gencon way back in 91. PAX is every year here in Seattle and I have attended only once, due to the size of the crowds. I would love to hit up REAPERCON, and other smaller conventions. My first con was in 1984 in Atlanta, and then another in 1985 in Macon. So glad to hear you had a good time. I look forward to all your content. Please keep up the good work, it is appreciated.
I like you coach
Subbed
Thank you ☺️!!!!
Great video!! Where you get the Player Reference?
Thank you ☺️. On their website: Blackoathentertainment.
Hey Coach, thank you for a positive breath of fresh air in RPG RUclips!
Wow such an awesome compliment ☺️!!!! Thank you soooo much 😊!!!!!!!
Congrats on getting the game audio and your mic audio playing evenly in the broadcast (for the most part until the end). While watching you play Ghost of Tsushima did you notice that, while you were running around, the ground highlighted in yellow was an indicator of where the flaming arrows would fall. At least that what it seemed to me. Plus surprised you channeled SLJ near the end of the video. Fun video.
Thanks for tuning it. I eventually learned the area for the flaming arrows, thank you 😊.
Underwater “deep dark blue” by fate
Thank you ☺️.
Hey, hey! I just wanted to hop on and say you and DaniCha give me life! It's so good to see fellow woc gamers in this some so and such kinda space if you know what I mean? I play mostly alone too, because my gal is having none of this "nonsense" so I was looking for some kind of system to use that wasn't so crazy to chill out with and I wanna thank you soooo much for playing this. Bc for cereal, I have been lost looking at all these systems with all these rigid rules. I'm gunna watch your other vids when I am just chilling out but I wanted to thank you again and sending big love!
Thank you sooooo much ☺️. I really appreciate that and I understand 💯!!!!!!! Are you on discord? If so add me ☺️ Coach Key
Coach Key! I've been watching for a couple months or so now, you and the solo rpg community helped me realize that solo RPGs aren't just a "downgrade" of multiplayer RPGs-- There's a lot that's really special to the format! I've been slowly cultivating my own solo playstyle, and I was able to overcome a hurdle that was sorta hindering my fun. I find that I really dislike it when I have to balance a conflict of interest between player knowledge and character knowledge. Like, if I'm playing a D&D module solo and I see that there's a spike trap in the room, does the party see it? Either I say "yes" and I'm pretty much metagaming and breaking immersion, or I say "no" and then I have to roleplay my characters doing something I wouldn't want to do, which ALSO breaks immersion. It took a while, but I actually completed a project that (in my opinion) really solves this issue nicely. It's called Atlas of Illumination, and it's on drivethrurpg and itch io right now. The idea is that the party actually gets to look at the module too, the same one you're reading while you play. That way they know everything you know, so there's no conflict of interest. Of course, that makes the game a little easier, so additional challenges are added in the form of weird and wacky curses. Sorry for the wall of text, but your videos helped inspired me to make it, and if you have any comments or criticisms on it I'd totally love to hear them! I want to make more solo stuff in the future, so all advice is appreciated :D
Gracias por la partida en solitario, me gusto mucho, el juego Cairn es bastante cool y jugarlo en solitario también, saludos desde el fin del mundo Chile...
Wow thank you so much ☺️. & thank you for taking time to support and watch!!!!!!
damn, you are awesome. I love this game
Thank you so much for an awesome compliment ☺️!!!! This is definitely one of my top games at the moment. I’m not looking forward to beating it 😭.
Sorry I missed it. Will Sunday nights be your usual schedule for a livestream?
I appreciate your support. Yes Sundays & Tuesdays 9p-11p EST I’ll be streaming.
I like the breakup of the rules by level, i wish more games with high level play did that. Thanks for the overview 👍
I appreciate that ☺️. Thank you for watching!!!!!
It’s a fantastic game!
One of my favorites!!!!!! 💯
It’s a really great game.
It really is ☺️!!!! I love playing & just using it for inspiration for other games I’m creating.
I think that I might be interested in this game. 😊
Definitely try it out ☺️. Let me know what you think 🤔 and what books you grab.
thenkyu, you are a wonderful person!!
Thank you so much ☺️!!!!
The quick start will give you a great sample of play. It comes with a funnel adventure and those are a ton of fun. DCC is firmly of the "Weird fantasy van art of the 1970's" in terms of vibes and if you meet it where it is, you will have a good time. Great community for the game as well, loads of zines and 3rd party publishers.
I really appreciate the info ☺️.
Never Played a TTRPG but I really like this. Looks easy the learn Hard to master
Are you on discord? If so we can connect on there & when I have some room in a game to join, you can try it out if you want.
@@LegendsDiceCafe Ok I dont remember if I do or don’t have a discord but I’ll keep that in mind thanks 👍🏾
@derrickjohnson4952 I’m on FB & IG as well.
Great, wicked, fun Old School RPG. I bought it and played 1st edition. I died during many solo modeules. I bought into the Kickstarter about 10 years ago. My name is in that book. Great video, enjoyed it.
That’s so cool 😎!!!! Thank you ☺️ & thank you so much for watching 😃.
Hi! I'm a brazilian roleplayer and find your channel while looking for Cairn content. I did love the hand draw maps, houserules tables and the vibe of the game play!
Thank you for watching ☺️. Thank you so much for the awesome compliments ☺️!!!!
Happy belated birthday Coach Key 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much 😊!!!!!
The algorithm just introduced me to your delightful channel. Wish I found you sooner. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kinds words ☺️ & thank you for the support.
I really enjoyed this! I see an abundant future for you 2! Lots of laughs, feels good! Congratulations on the next level of your RUclips journey. Looking forward to the next live! ❤
Love yah- keep being the great host to new games and content!
Thank you ☺️!!!!!!
Thanks for grabbing a copy of The Vaelorian Codex #1, I hope you like it!
Absolutely!!!! I didn’t want to share much since I’m going to do a video specifically for #1 & #2 which I’m currently reading thru 😊!!!!!
@@LegendsDiceCafe nice, looking forward to it!
My daughter saw your video and now wants to play Overcooked with you. She wanted me to tell you that there’s a dash feature to move the characters a little faster and that you can throw dishes onto plates or into pots but you have to aim carefully. She loves your cat too.
I can definitely play with her. Especially someone who can teach me a few things on it ☺️. I do know about the dash & throw feature but I forget to use it often. Tell her thank you 😊.
I think I’m going to go live tonight but I think I’m going to kick back and play Minecraft.
@@LegendsDiceCafe Well I’m downloading Overcooked 2 right now. Hopefully we can work out a time for us (my daughter wants me to play) to play together.
Just as a heads up ─ there's a really insensitively named spell in the early editions, named for Black servants in rubberhose cartoons and films of that era. Otherwise I love ALL things T&T ha
Thank you for the head up ☺️!!!!!!
That is so tough that you highlighted your rule book! It means it's a tool to you and reminds me of a warrior's well-worn sword hilt. I wish I had the guts to do that. 🙂
lol 😂 I’ve had others comment on that. It doesn’t feel like it’s mine until I’ve highlighted it a bit.
4AD rocks! Thanks for your channel 😊
Thank you ☺️. My 4AD collection has grown since this video 🥴. Definitely one of my favorites!!!!!!!
Holy crap, I used to play solo Tunnels and Trolls back in the 80s. I played so many of their solo modules, and they were all fun.
