I have the mangles dolomite customize it upgrade the brakes shifter grips and seat and tires
Thanks. This is a great bike and yet there are few real reviews on it. I have the XT build in the Muddy Waters colorway. You’re right, the Ibis wheels are pretty decent, but I wanted higher engagement, so I built a pair of Stan’s Arch MK 4 with DT Swiss 240 hubs, the rear hub being the new DEG version with 90 POE ratchet. It’s great, and surprisingly quiet. Time will tell regarding reliability, but I expect it will hold up very well. And it’s way easier to service than 350 or normal 240. I just saw that Ibis now offers a freehub body for both SRAm and Shimano that doubles the standard 36 POE, and it’s only about $70. Beats buying a 300-500 dollar hub to achieve the same thing. I love the DV9. It loves to go hard, dawdles very comfortably, is very sure footed, nimble, precise, but by no means harsh. It climbs exceptionally well and goes downhill better than it should. This bike wants to go fast, so fast that I have to remind myself I’m on a hardtail and maybe better keep it reined in before I get into trouble. It’s perfect for riding lots of different terrain types here in hilly south central Indiana; loose gravel, packed gravel, clay, limestone of all grades , rough cut and machine made trails, even bushwhacking. I think it really shines on flowy green and blue trails and makes them more interesting. Of the dozen or so mountain bikes I’ve had, the DV9 is by far the most broadly capable. Also happens to be the most comfortable and the most fun. Pretty good package, eh?
I do agree, a fantastic bike and I am still exploring its full range of capability. The one limitation I have found is the front tire, I don’t think it quite matches the bikes capability and I have over cooked it a couple times, so might do something a little more aggressive there. I am seriously considering trying a 140mm fork on it next year to see how that is, but it’s pretty damn spot on now.
I was thinking about buying a fat bike andcsetting up with drops...it looks like a blast!
@@Lumberjack-drummer It is! I keep my Beargrease setup like this full time now
Will this fit a gen 2 Tacoma? Or is this gen 3 only
Good question, I don’t know for sure on that one. Maybe try a 2nd gen forum and see if there are any details out there.
A dealer may be able to tell you if that part number works on 2nd gen too.
It is unfortunate that Toyota decided to put the intake in the wheel well because this location has very low aerodynamic pressure.
@@spikespiegel2246 It’s not the best spot for sure. I think also more apt to pull dusty air in too. I see the new 4th gen pulls from under the front of the hood, which should be better.
I got a 1000watt fat tire ebike that kicks ass at 32mph!
Thanks for posting this video. Are there any 12 volt compressors that will serve this purpose?
I know someone with this Stanley unit that likes it a lot, it’s on sale too: amzn.to/3zQwLKL
@@ElevationEveryWeekend thank you
is is true as many people suggest that trek procal (carbon) is overall usually quite comfortable. but I also noticed people having both (procaliber vs exceed) tested say there's no noticable difference in comfort. both are quite good in comfort.
They are certainly similar in their overall performance. I will say the ISO Speed on the Procal really does help with the seated comfort compared to the Exceed. It's not drastic like suspension, but it is noticeable especially over the course of a longer ride.
both similar geometries, similar reach and stack. almost identical angels. Wonder how they actually feel on more flat / less rough terrain. I also noticed Trek seem to go a BIT smaller than Canyon.
For these two specific bikes, the Exceed is a medium (I went with their online size guide), but really I should have gone for a large, which is what I got on the Procal. They are definitely in the same ballpark across the board, but I have to say I still prefer the Procal and ride it more than any other bike these days.
I wish I could try both myself one after another. For this price bike shops should always agree to test a bike before purchase as well as of course sizing etc.
That would definitely be ideal. I was able to ride the Procal before buying as it was in stock at a Trek store near me, which was nice. It's tough with Canyon and their direct to consumer model.
Hi Tommy. I was encouraged (by both Borealis Keystone videos) that you found the (e-bike thing) to be helpful with some aspects, e.g. climbing, as well as not detracting too much from other aspects, e.g. descending. I bought a Surly ICT in 2023, and I love it! I am aware that consistency with riding will improve my overall fitness level. That being said, I feel an e-bike option would increase my confidence to ride longer and explore trails I normally would avoid. Again, your reviews on this bike were extremely helpful with my decision making process. Thanks! Love the channel! 😃
@@lambdahmv glad you found some value in the videos, thanks for watching and for the feedback! The ICT is a great fat bike!
Hey Tommy. Great & very informative video! I went to the website you listed and Borealis is offering a 20% discount on complete bikes & frame sets which ends 7/15/24, e.g. tomorrow! I wanted to let you and your subscribers know.
Nice! Thanks for the heads-up!!
Hi Tommy. I just rewatched this video as I have not yet taken my ICT out in the summer! I bought it in October of last year and at that time was doing a lot of research on winter riding. I live in NH and I am not familiar with many single track trails, after watching this video, I sure want to try some! 🙂 To be honest, I think I feel some peer-pressure to not take my ICT on summer single track trails. I am a 50+ out-of-shape noob, and it can be intimidating at times, when I feel “in the way” of younger, faster, pure MTB riders. A big reason I enjoyed the ICT last winter was because nobody else was riding, haha. But again, I would love to attempt tracks similar to the ones in this video. Any suggestions on “basics” for fat bike summer riding? Thanks! ~D
Riding the ICT on summer trails will pretty much guarantee you won't be as fast as others on much lighter bikes, so I don't think you need to worry about that at all. In my experience, others are always pretty stoked just to see a fat bike out there getting some trail action, so I would encourage you to get it out there and have some fun, because it is all about the fun! As for suggestions, just pick some trails that are on the easier end of the spectrum, and ride them. The ICT is plenty capable, and the big tires provide a lot of traction and are very stable. The more miles you get the more you will start to get a feel from the terrain.
I love my DV9. I run a hip pack.
It’s a great bike! I also run a hip pack and will never go back to the sweaty back feel of a back/hydration pack, especially when the weather cools off a bit!
Loved your videoll❤

very simple and clever and functional. thanks
it is true and native fatbike tire. And it is most grippy tire in mud conditions i have ever seen.
Can somebody answer.. if i have a 26x3” wheel, when i add tires what would u guess the total width would be ?
It sounds like you have a 26x80mm wide wheel, which is a pretty common fat bike wheel width. As for your question, that's a tough one to answer, because it will depend on what size tire you fit (4", 4.3", 4.6", 4.8", 5"). And on top of that, even the same tire size can vary slightly between manufacturers. If you are worried about tire clearance, check the website for your specific bike and they should indicate the largest recommended tire size for the frame.
I just got 1 from someone who bought it and used it 1 time. Payed 150 for it. On Amazon there around $500 now
rim size 20x1 fit to new tire 20x2 tire size ???
@@VanketNoiYeuThuong I am not familiar with those sizes so I can’t say for sure
@ElevationEveryWeekend great point about the wider bottom bracket. I am in total agreement. Feels good to work the muscles in a different way on occasion. Great video!
Thanks for watching!
How hard is it to attach aerobars to the moloko bars? Would it be harder than the corner bars?
It was super easy to attach them, I did need to use spacers supplied by Profile Designs to fit the smaller bar diameter of the Corner Bar. I would not add aero bars to the Moloko Bar, and I believe Surly explicitly states they should not be used too.
Where Can We Purchase Those Tires? & How Do I Find The Correct Size For 26 Inch Bmx? * My BMX Will Be My Transportation To Work But Im Looking For Speed
These tires are Terrene Johnny 5’s. They can be purchased directly from the Terrene website. You’ll need to verify the clearance on your specific bike to make sure they can fit.
The speed 5 is now pretty much the WTB Comfort I've noticed maybe a tad longer but looks pretty identical side by side to my old one just not comfortable its solid and i mean absolutely solid for a comfort saddle! I wouldn't recommend the comfort
@ElevationEveryWeekend Since rim strikes could be a concern with these HED rims, have you tried tire inserts?
I have not, I think tire pressure is adequate to manage the concern. I’m not aware of tire inserts designed for fat bike wheels, but if there is one it could be a solution.
how long is you steam ?
It’s the stock stem, it appears to be about 70-80mm long
I can appreciate someone making a less expensive tire but over the last few years including today everyone is blitzing out Maxxis, Vittoria, and Schwalbe for less than $50. I’ve got enough tires to last through the zombie apocalypse in 27.5/29.
Yeah these days you can definitely find tires on the cheap which definitely is a buyers market, but I suspect that will swing back when things equalize.
Loved your video , you were really moving ! You views are much appreciated and held in high regard by many ! Thankyou! ❤
Thanks for watching!
@@ElevationEveryWeekend it’s my pleasure!

NICE! BIKE SO COOL! 😄👍
Where’s this location? Nice flowy trails and made for hardtails.
It is in Erie, CO. Erie Singletrack Advocates.
I bought this bike after following your channel and your other fat bikes. I might agree that it’s the best hard tail made right now. I did have to invest some time and money, dialing it in. A couple stems. Fork pressure. Slipping and sliding adjustments here and there.
Nice, congrats! Yeah the more I ride it the more I am thinking about trying a longer stem on it. While I think it’s probably dialed at 120mm, I have also thought about maybe trying a 140mm fork on it, maybe next year.
@@ElevationEveryWeekend I went with a 90mm stem. Totally different bike. It doesn’t look as bad as it sounds either. FYI, there is a Specialized Epic hardtail on deep discount an hour away from me. Driving there this weekend.
That middle tire is installed reversed, no?
It is correct. The YKY is bi-directional, and this is the correct direction for the rear.
@@ElevationEveryWeekend ah thanks
I’ve got an XL frame and no issues like yours. #PurpleCrush #Carbon
Commenting in June of 2024. What other high end spec light fat bikes should I be looking at along with the Crestone?
I would probably look at the Trek Farley, the Otso Voytek, the Ari (Fezzarri) Kings Peak, and the Salsa Beargrease.
Do you have experience with Barbegazi 27.5x4.5”? I’m thinking of running YKY on the rear and Barb front, but I wonder if that combo would work
I have not ridden the Barbegazi yet, but I have had good luck with Bontrager MTB tires so I would expect good things from their fat bike tires too.
Great channel. Love your ICT vids!
Thanks for watching! More to come with the ICT.
I took the bolts out and weighed them and it was 2 ounces not over a pound. Did I mis something? Thanks
I’m not sure, 2oz seems really light.
Just got one too!! Actually am running a 150mm DVO Diamond fork up front and IT IS SIIIIIIIK!!! Perfect geo for me. Whiskey carbon bars 80mm rise. OMG!!!! Insane set up. It's A BIG BOY BMX RIPPER!!!!!
Nice! Congrats. I’ll stay 120mm for the rest of this summer but I’d like to try to bigger fork in the future.
Cool always could use extra water
The water bottle looks great also ❤

Hello im about to by a fatbike and I want to know witch valve is the best for airinhbup and down allt?
If you mean the difference between Presta valves and schrader valves, I personally like and use Presta on all of my bikes. But schrader valves are functional if you wheels are sized for the bigger stem, you’ll want to be sure of that.
The tire comparisons you have posted are super valuable info.. Switching over a 26x5 motobecane boris To 27.5 wheels for more street manners on ebike conversion. Thanks
