@@hydridwnl thanks mate, I'm an ecologist
What camera lens combo are you using for the bird footage. Keep up the great videos 👌
@joelbruning632 thanks mate, a canon 1dx ii and 500mm f4. It's old tech (lens is 20yrs old) but still takes nice footage
I physically winced when I heard your alarm go off 🤣 too many 2am fishing sessions
Hi, your video is so cool ! I would like to know what is the diameter of your braid and your shokleader ? I just arrived in Australia close to Darwin, that's why I don't know a lot of things about fishing rules here. Thank you !
Nice cast mate good job 💪🎣
Looks like a great Office!
Hey man, just curious what your actual job is. Looks super sick!

Greetings from Nz here. Pardon my ignorance would there ever saltwater crocodiles around that area in Darwin at all? Well aware in those other areas crocs to be expected everywhere.
@@jeremytaylor3093 yes heaps!!

Ayyye new vid just dropped🔥🔥 keep it up mate
Hey broomstick! I’m intrigued in watching your videos and love fishing! I’ve been a fan of yours for a while and realised that I live very close to you! I’ve been chasing the exact same fish that you chase for the past 5 months but am unsuccessful. I was wondering if I could go fishing with you some time. 😊Kind regards, Marc
Hi mate, thank you for the kind words! Unfortunately, I don't actually get to fish very much. Every time I've fished this year I've turned it into a video, which means I've only been fishing 3 times in the last 6 months. I'm away for work most of the year so finding time to fish locally is really difficult for me. Send me a message on instagram (pattomkinswildlife) and I'll give you some local spots where you can catch a sooty, but honestly I'm not sure when I'll next get a chance to fish around Cairns so I can't commit to a trip sorry. Good luck!
@@broomstickfishing thanks! I have sent you a message request on instagram 😁
Pretty cool fishing on your doorstep
hey man just wondering what the reel you use in this video is. I have seen you using it and easily landed the massive queenie in darwin.
@@Maestr098 hi mate, it's a luvias 2510PE-H with PE 1 tasline
@@broomstickfishing cheers mate
unbelievable videos, every single one is great and has 10/10 editing in beautiful country. Its great to have a water way with fish in it near you as I've found a spot on the rocks 700 meters from my house with tones of Aussie salmon.
@@Maestr098 appreciate that mate!

Wow, which part of Cairns is this? Up north near Daintree? Looks beautiful!

Awesome video man, would love to see more in that small creek, also those cassowaries are so cool. Are they quite used to humans being around?

Been waiting for a bud to drop, good vid as always
wow finally!!! we r looking forward to your video bro!!👍👍
Great to see
don't stand with your back to the water, and don't loiter by the water's edge any longer than you have to. we share our waterways with the world's most successful ambush predator. don't let the first time you see how fast a large saltwater croc can move be your last.
