I started with Shutterstock, added Dreamstime, Alamy, EyeEm, Adobe Stock, Pond 5 and Arcangel. I closed my Alamy account after six months, having never sold there and finding their uploading process cumbersome. EyeEm went out of business, though I think it was bought by another company after that and I had a small payment from their partnership agreement a few months back. I don't upload there anymore, of course. I have a work flow that helps me upload to the four remaining agencies readily, though Dreamstime and Pond5 are pretty useless. Arcangel is another matter entirely, focusing on book covers and very picky on what they accept, but their rates are much better than microstock agencies. I have tried my luck with Stocksy twice, and was rejected, and hope to get into Robert Harding some day, though they want exclusive material, like Arcangel.

It's all very well finding out what buyers want but when you search on most stock sites there's already 1000s of images covering almost any subject. Then you have to work out the correct keywords, not exactly easy.

you must have 1000s of images. I don't have that many photos but I'm getting more sales on adobe now I'm over the 750 image mark. with no videos. I have videos on other sites but not sold any at all. Dreamstime is the worst, only 1 DL sale per month on average since my 1st sale there about 4 yrs ago even though I uploaded quite often. Shutterstock has by far the most sales but the average price per DL is lower than adobe
