Hi there! Thanks for your question. Canadian and US A2X users can use a 'No Tax' or 'Tax Exempt' sales tax rate in A2X and map tax transaction lines to a Sales Tax Liability account. A2X tells you exactly how much sales tax was collected per bank deposit. A2X will show the total sales tax for each settlement (sales, refunds, fees, etc.) in the Sales Tax Liability account it is mapped to. In order to break down the sales tax collected for each state, you will need to utilize the sales channel (e.g., Shopify) tax report or a tax app (such as Taxjar and Avalara).

@@A2Xaccounting ok I think I get what you're saying: so A2X will bring Sales Tax into just ONE Sales Tax Liability GL account in our QBO financials. From there it's up to us individually to remit sales tax to all states using reports from Shopify to know what those splits are. Then when reconciling those payments in QBO, just match those individual payments to that one Sales Tax Liability GL again in QBO. I think that's what you're saying? If so, sounds good. Thanks!

A2X users will need to individually remit sales tax to all states using the Shopify tax reports, and A2X will have the total sales tax collected on the Balance Sheet. In the example you provided, if you mean that the units that have gone missing were sold and considered fulfilled, then it isn't considered in the report, as it would be part of the sold units. A2X will show as 70 sellable and 10 unsellable. If you have any additional questions, please let us know!

​@@A2Xaccounting. Thank you for the answer. What I mean by 'missing units' are the units that Amazon constantly loses within their network (the so-called 'misplaced' units in the inventory ledger). They lose them, and in many cases, those units disappear from the radar for months, or even years. I have been trying to figure out the inventory ledger for 2 months, putting together several interconnected spreadsheets. I can safely say it is impossible to keep track of what happens (especially for a large account with many transactions each month). Then, they warehouse-damage items. If one doesn't record through the ledger that Amazon has already disposed of the units during the same month, one would have those units missing from the counters at the end of the month, without knowing why. To complicate things further, units that have been shown as disposed of on the ledger may pop up again as sellable in the near future. These are units that Amazon disposes of, due to damages for which the seller is not responsible, hence units not disposed of by the seller. So, I was looking for a solution that can account for all the adjustments that happen during a month to show me why the stock levels at the end of the month are actually as they are. Because it isn't just sales that make the inventory increase and decrease. thanks
