    Just FYI, POM is not the same as Nylon. Nylon is a brand name for Polyamide, PA for short. POM is short for Polyoxymethylene. This part is probably POM, it is often used for these kind of applications as it is ‘self-lubricating’. Source: I’m an industrial engineer. Anyway, I want to say I really like your videos. I have teflon balls, I bought them from Ali. They are soft and tend to leave teflon dust behind as you slide. They were expensive too, but they work nice on some sliders. I think the dust is them wearing out, so they prob won't last long. I haven't used them in a slider long enough for that theory to be proven.

    • @bruner
      @bruner 15 дней назад

      @davidcopeland5409 I tend to talk too much 😅. I've been aiming to keep them around 20 minutes max, but sometimes I need to say more. Lol.. That's a good suggestion, though, and I will seriously consider it. The "plan" that I've been following is to generally make 2 videos. I do one 30-second "Short" video and one full review video. Then, I try to bring them up again in my "General update" videos, but that's been newly evolving. I kinda like your suggestion of a maybe 3-5 minute "overview" video for each piece. I might do that 👍 No unboxings, though.. I'm not very much a fan of those 🙂

    Dan the timing on this review is funny because I recorded a review on it last week (I’ve yet to post it). I haven’t had any problems with mine (no loctite) so I gave it a pretty good review. It’s a shame yours broke because it’s an interesting little slider with that “jiggle” action as it slides.

    • @Shoorah
      @Shoorah 23 дня назад

    Hi, I just bought one and mine is unscrewing as well. Can you use loctite on the back piece to prevent it from unscrewing or would that hinder the mechanics of it turning and clicking?

    • @bruner
      @bruner 27 дней назад

      @beeochg4 Yes, you could use loctite, but use it very sparingly and only on the threaded part. Do not slop it around and get it on any other part of the toy, or you might have problems. I would recommend Loctie 222 Purple instead of 242 Blue. The 222 is not as strong as 242, and it will allow you to open it back up if you ever need or want to 👍🙂

    Hi Mr Bruner - which Tiviva slider do you like better in terms of action and the noise it makes? This one or the one you reviewed a while ago that has the ridges on the surface? (I like a slider with a “ring” to it.) Thanks for your help!

    • @bruner
      @bruner 28 дней назад

      Out of the two, I would pick the one that I showed at 01:37. Is that's the one you described as the one with ridges? If so, it's been the best 3-level mechanical from TIVIVA that I've gotten so far. The ridged one overal works better and is easier to grip. It has a nice "ring" I think, but that may be subjective. That "ring" can also depend a lot on what types of springs and balls you have installed. As it wears, it is becoming a slight bit "sticky", but not too bad. This is typical of Titanium though. I usually carry mine with one of my little "haptic lanyard clips" attached. Having any kind of lanyard on it makes it work the better 👍🙂

    Bought this same slider. Got it two days ago. Mine is nowhere near as smooth as yours seems, Dan. It is very rough. Binds easily and grinds. I’m planning to break it down and put it back together to see if that helps. Forced myself to play with it over the past couple days to see if it needed a “breaking-in” period but no dice.

    • @bruner
      @bruner Месяц назад

      @nicwit That's disappointing.. Hopefully, it's an easy fix. Have a look inside. You might get lucky and find a bad/bent spring that just needs to be replaced. If that's not it, then try looking for scratch marks. Perhaps one of those screws is turning in too far and scraping against the bottom of the "limiter groove" on one side or the other. If that's the case, then you can adjust the screws so they don't go in too deep and then loctite them at the correct depth where they don't scrape. I'm not sure what else the problem might be. I hope one of these ideas is a fix.. If not, I would start the refund request process. Your best bet with the refund request process is to upload a short video showing how it is not functioning properly. Also, keep your description as simple as possible so that it translates well. I've mostly had success in getting refunds on AliExpress.. I've never had to return anything yet. They usually just refund your money 👍🙂

    * edit: I'm not super impressed.. After uploading to RUclips, something always seems to affect the quality.. @Coolkalki Thanks. I think I see what you are saying when I try to change the video viewing quality.. I'll need to learn what the heck I'm doing with this phone and give it another try 👍🙂 *Edit: All of my original "clips" were recorded at 3840x2160 UHD 60fps. Apparently, when I edited the clips together on my phone, then saved the final video, it reduced down to 1920x1080 FHD 30 fps. And that is what I uploaded..

      So.... update on mine: I had to change out one of the springs on mine because it broke. It could have been due to how much I played with it or because of the one time I dropped it. It's now super tight on one side because of how rigid the replacement spring it comes with are. I'm debating replacing the other side to balance it out or just keep one side tight and the other fairly loose.

    • @bruner
      @bruner Месяц назад

      Try this at your own risk.. Also, before that, try contacting TigerH EDC Store. They might likely be able to send you replacement springs that are softer. Anyhow, try this at your own risk. If you can safely hold that spring over an open flame until it turns red, then let it cool slowly away from the flame (don't dunk it in cold water). This should "anneal" the spring, which should greatly increase the flexibility of the spring, OR POSSIBLY RUIN THE SPRING COMPLETELY.. So, I would try this as a last resort only. I tried one of the harder springs on mine, and it was CRAZY hard.. Way to hard to be usable for me or most people, I would think.

      Same problem as me. I used sandpaper to sand the surface of the hard springs. I don't know if that's the right way. But I've been using it for five days and it's still fine. But it's hard to feel like it came out of the box. This product appears to have a problem. On the Chinese second-hand market, prices have dropped significantly despite the limited availability.

      TigerH is sending me replacement springs, but only when I agreed to order something else. I guess they didn't want to send just a set of springs. I also probably annoyed whoever was tasked with answering my constant messages. 😅 I ordered a Top D in SS. I didn't plan on getting one so soon, but.. 🤷 @@bruner

    • @bruner
      @bruner Месяц назад

      @gotsouced4943 I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I saw your message and intended to take mine apart after work the other day, but I got sidetracked. Ok, my balls measure at 2.87mm, but you are most likely safe ordering anything advertised as 3mm. I ordered some "3mm" Nylon balls, and they ended up actually measuring 2.87mm. Same thing with the PP (Polypropylene) balls I ordered.. They were advertised as 3mm but came in 2.87mm.. Anyhow, stay away from the PP balls. That material is too soft. Other materials to try: - steel - brass - nylon - glass - white ceramic (zirconium oxide) - black ceramic (silicone nitride) I found copper balls, but that might be too soft of a metal. The nylon balls are also called "derlin" or "POM". Sometimes I really like nylon balls because they can make a slider more quiet and have a softer feel. Try searching amazon for the various materials. Here's a link to where I bought my nylon 3mm balls ⤵️ 3mm 50pcs Delrin Polyoxymethylene (POM) Solid Plastic Bearing Balls a.co/d/02iPDEWf Good luck 👍 🙂
