In1982 Marilyn and I began our journey to create a previously unknown high end market for tequila, it was with Chinaco. Chinaco became the first high end marketed 100% agave tequila. We created El Tesoro de Don Felipe, with Don Felipe and his son, Carlos, in 1988 when we could not get enough Chinaco to meet our growing demand. All over México, villages have a weekly market comprised of many individual vendors in stalls like our farmer's markets in the USA. My village of Ajijic is no exception. Our Wednes Tianguis is the highlight of the week. This video is a walk through the Tianguis, set to music. I hope you enjoy it.

This car was built by my friend, Don Southam. Don and I were kids in the "happy days" and dreamed of cars like this. When Don retired, he built this, the most beautiful deuce I've ever seen. I took these pictures in 2007

My first Video attempt, thanks to Maureen Richardson. The village is along Lake Chapala in Jalisco, Mexico. The music is Te Amare, by Miguel Bose and Laura Pausini. I know it needs help.
So amazing
This is magnificent to watch now in 2024… video was 1992 so that makes it 32 years old. A real trip back in time. So interesting to watch this and then more recent videos of how it’s being made today (what is similar and what has changed). Particularly interested in the story part here and the role the Denton’s played in creating the established market for additive free tequila we have today. How neat would it be to try a bottle made around 1992 and compare to an El Tesoro blanco made in 2024… Thank you for posting this!!
