Scriabin - Valse in D-Flat Major (WoO 8)
Hello, this is the first time I have ever played something by the composer Scriabin! This waltz, written in 1886 when Scriabin was just 14 years old, offers an early look into his style before his music became more mystical. The more I listen to pieces by Scriabin, the more I find I enjoy his music a whole lot. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of this lesser-known, yet beautiful piece. I think I would like to revisit it someday in the future and play it a little better!

Clementi - Sonatina in C Major Op. 36 No. 1 (II. Andante)
Просмотров 18816 часов назад
Here is the second movement of the C Major Sonatina by Clementi! I hope you enjoy my interpretation, which can be seen as a bit more modern, with the use of rubato in some spots and a large amount of pedal. I hope the boldness of my choices freshens this extremely common piece up for you. My goal was to highlight just how beautiful this simple piece can be! Muzio Clementi - Sonatina in C Major ...

I am excited to present a piece of music that nearly every pianist with classical training learns at some point! I actually never learned this one until now, so a little late in my journey to be playing it, but I am glad I can give it a fair interpretation. I plan on uploading the full set with repeats once I finish all three movements, so look forward to that! I hope you enjoy my playing; lots...

Hello 2025. I don't know why the Trois Gymnopédies became my official New Year pieces, but here we are, three years and three lovely pieces of relaxing piano music. I suppose next year I will have to start the collection of Gnossiennes! I always appreciated this genre of music from Satie as simple gems that are meant to be played freely with the soul. I have heard these pieces described as "bac...

Certainly not the best year for me personally or in regard to the amount of videos I uploaded, but I still believe that I have made some good improvements. It can only go up from here after all! Here's to hoping that next year is the best year yet-for me, for you, and for music. Thank you. This is the first Chopin Nocturne that I have upload...

When the news broke that a new piece by Chopin had been discovered this year, I knew I had to learn it! I am excited to present to you this piece titled simply "Valse" and attributed to Chopin. As far as I am aware, we're not actually sure if this piece was 100% written by Chopin, but it certainly carries with it energy that exudes his spirit. It's been awhile since I did a study by Bach, and so I picked up one that everybody loves! These kinds of pieces feel so good to play. Bach is so addictive. I hope you enjoy my performance, and, as a very common theme on this channel, there will certainly be more Bach to come. Here is this year's Halloween special! Liszt composed this unique piece in 1881, nearing the end of his life. A lot of late pieces by Liszt are very experimental, and this piece gave me a lot of spooky vibes. "Nuages Gris" translates to "Grey clouds." I hope my playing could paint that picture in your mind! Nice piece! Really different from his later style. Most of Scriabin's music is difficult, with large chords, arpeggio's and tricky polyrhythms, but some of his preludes are manageable. Prelude op. 16 no. 1 for example would be right up your ally. I played it a year ago and had a lot of fun with it.

      Wow thank you so much!! I have a few; some of my favorite pianists are Daniil Trifonov, Alexander Gadjiev, Tiffany Poon, and Anthony Ratinov who surprised me last week at the Chopin National. Composers I have pretty normal picks, Chopin, Bach, Schubert, and Alkan!

    • @GiacomoPhilipp92
      @GiacomoPhilipp92 14 дней назад

      @@MinosPiano Your choices makes sense to me. I am not that much into Alkan, can you name me a piece or two, you like? Trifonov is one of my favorites, too (on the same level as Sokolov). I really do like your taste for shorter musical gems. I am also playing a short and very majestic prelude of Scriabin at the moment, his op. 13 no. 1 (if you want to listen to a recording, listen to Heinrich Neuhaus interpretation, which is on the point in voicing, tempo and dynamics). Do you plan to play a Schubert or Beethoven sonata in the future? If so, which one? Best regards

    • @MinosPiano
      @MinosPiano 14 дней назад

      @ Thank you for such thoughtful comments! :) I can talk about Alkan for awhile 😭but I think he has a lot of music to offer past his super virtuosic pieces like Le Preux or Le Chemin De Fer. The Alkan Barcarolle is pretty well-known and it is really beautiful and technically easy. I am a big fan of the Opus 31 preludes, especially No. 7 and the Fugue one (No. 10 or sometimes 11 in some editions). Alleluia from Opus 25 is another one of my favorites. And you can't go wrong with the Recueils de Chants! It's funny you mention Scriabin, as I just learned an early Valse from him and plan to upload it very soon! I listened to the Prelude you are playing and thought it was lovely. Scriabin has quickly become one of my favorite composers as well. I do not have any plans for a Schubert or Beethoven sonata this year, unfortunately. The next sonata I undertake will be from Haydn, as I have never played a sonata from him before. I would love to play the Op. 22 No. 11 Beethoven Sonata though :)

    • @GiacomoPhilipp92
      @GiacomoPhilipp92 14 дней назад

      @@MinosPiano Great, I will search for the Alkan pieces. There are very good recordings of Sokolovs play of some of the minor sonatas from Haydn (if you didn't hear it yet, as you like cantabile play and Mozart, there is one of the best interpretations of the KV545 (also 475 and 457) - in my opinion - from Sokolov live here on RUclips). I played the e minor Haydn sonata for myself, which was a great pleasure. Richter found Haydn more important than Mozart, and I think, I know, what he have meant by that.
