If you didn’t mean any hate towards the OG designs then what’s with the thumbnails? Also what is it with people trying to “fix” character designs by removing/toning down all the colors..

I probably would have made either her outfit or her hair a darker color because it all blends together the way it is now, but this is still a MASSIVE improvement!

All of the main 4 characters are named after herbs instead of spices. Their names are a reference to Scarborough Fair, as far as I know. That being said, High Guardian Herb just sounds weird unless the main characters were all stoners...which actually would have been kinda cool and funny, but I digress.

Ohhh! Out of all the redesigns of Rosemary out there, this one is my favorite! It's not over the top and it gets the job done easy peasy <3 I'm going to say something. I like Rosemary's og design but the one thing that annoys me is the hair. Well the bangs really (and the hair tails too but the bangs annoy me the most). It looks,, out of place (and it annoys tf out of me 😭)? If that makes sense? (And the hairstyle you gave her is a thousand times better my god 😭) Out of all the main designs in this dumpster fire of a show, hers is the best. The other designs just look boring? But yeah, sorry for the side tangent ^^;

I don't really like this show but I don't like your insistence that making the characters look realistic automatically makes them look better. It's a cartoon it doesn't need to be realistic and a lot of the time realism can make the design boring. This design is fine but bland and I feel does loose some charm from the original

As a person who likes witch designs, Sage is one of the most BORING, uncreative designs I've ever seen! I have a character who is a witch but in her case I go more for a design that reflects her personality more , but she will still have a design that reflects her witchy side! Sage's design has NOTHING!!

I’m gonna say this now, Sage’s basic design/base design from the show could’ve been good. There’s nothing wrong with going simple about it. My main problem is how they did the dress and the hat! Don’t get me wrong you can go pretty good with very simple, simple, but not only did the witch dress not even look like a dress (I don’t even know what to call, but it looks like a weird corset shirt fancy upper dress part with a skirt that does not match the upper part. They could’ve at least put some kind of decor on the hat, hell, even if it was just a color difference on the underside. It would’ve looked better!) Edit: I just got to the end of the video, and I love your design way more than the base one/original design she had. It’s also probably better than anything I could manage to come up with for her.

You know, if I were to redesign rosemary, I would give her hair of rose motif like given her rose shaped hair buns

Yup, none of the characters are named after a spice, they're all herbs, flowers, anything but spices! The fact that Ray doesn't know the difference between spices and herbs, should have been a massive red flag for Crunchyroll and should have stuck with their original decision not to employ him and his idea! I agree with the other folks here, very cute redesign, way better than the original! Though, a little tip for drawing the feet this close together, draw an oval and one of the tips of the feet should always be on the line, it'll aid in proper foot placement and reduce the chance of foot deformation like you have here with her back foot!

OH YEAH SHES ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS LOOKING. Some of her beta designs are quite nice though and have a more interesting outfit

Wow, it looks great! You're good at this and as a little information Sage is one of the most hateable characters in the entire show but you made her look fabulous!

I love her design so much, you can really look at it and go like "yeah, that's a 'sage' " type deal i think the last video got traction because although the show itself is bad, a lot of creative writers and animators took inspiration of what not to do from the show. in addition the show was kinda shit in writing characters so it ended up making the "bully" character(Amaryllis) accidentally beloved by the community because she had the most depth. I personally related to her because i also had a pet tarantula at the time (RIP Derek). It brings me joy knowing the distasteful qualities of the show ended up making a template for artists and writers to envision what they thought the show could've been like.

I dont mind the original design's colors but everything else is atrocious lol, you made it much more coherent! the original genuinely reminds me of my attempts to draw anime characters as a 10 years old, its like they just slapped on all the elements they think an adventure/anime chara should have, going off vague ideas only and no references
