Sci-Fi Channel Animation Marathon - Anime '94 with Ralph Bakshi (clip) - 1994
Not sure of the specific date for this, but in 1994 the Sci-Fi Channel aired it's annual Animation Marathon: Anime '94. Hosted by Ralph Bakshi, he would talk about animation between segments of the movie being presented. Cool stuff!
This particular set of clips was from the airing of Project A-Ko. Sadly I don't have the full broadcast on tape.
This was taped in Redding, CA where Viacom Cable was our cable provider.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles was probably Jim Henson’s best work. Despite not being a fan of the film, he pushed the envelope when it came to puppeteering and animatronics.
Totally forgot they had a Fred Meyer store in Chico in the early 90s! Part of the Oregon-based chain's short lived plans to expand into the North State. They're now owned by Kroger.
I lived in Redding when this originally aired.

This is so sad to watch, on top of the fact that if you listen to his voice - you can just hear the bright and happy tone of Kermit and to think he’d be unfortunately gone soon after. RIP Jim.

Oh that’s good to know! Eventually in my area they did split UPN into its own station. I thought it was odd that they didn’t do that to begin with but I guess there wasn’t enough programming yet. Thanks for the comment!
Anyone know the air date for this? I want to say it was either the spring or the fall, but couldn’t find a listing for it in the fall.

@@d.b.gaston665 I know the date by heart because I missed it as kid. It's started the same damn day the OJ Simpson Chase (June 17, 1994) happened and my dad said don't touch the TV when I made 2 steps toward the 10 feet of it. I was on visitation with him that weekend. I only got to watch the first 30 minutes of A-KO at home before he picked me up.
@@IndygoEEI That must have been a later re-airing of it, the first time it was on the Sci-Fi Channel was in May 94, the last week or two of school when I was in the 8th grade.

My cats forgot to update the description on this one with the list of commercials. Will fix that later. 😅 With that said, the only reason I taped this airing of Good Morning America was for the Jim Henson interview (posted in my other playlist).

Yeah, I recall Joan Lunden popping up in those Vaseline commercials for a while there. Maybe others. Klondike Bar commercials were always some of my favorites for some reason. Amount of times I’ve actually had a Klondike Bar… zero. I should rectify that! 😅
