San Diego ADU Build in Carlsbad-Part 2
Просмотров 1029 месяцев назад
Part 2 of my ADU build in Carlsbad, Ca. This guest house casita has been a dream for over 10 years. It was built over an old deck that sat over the garage. The deck leaked and we saw it as an unusable piece of real estate that could be better used as an guest house. So we took the existing deck and one of the existing bedrooms and converted it into an ADU/Guest Studio. It's just under 400 sq-ft...

While photographing this rehearsal dinner, I decided to shoot a little bit of video with the Nikon Z50 mated with the Nikon 17-55mm f2.8 AFS . The first several clips were shot around 6;30-6:45 pm (sunset was around 7 pm). It was 7:45 pm by the time the toasts started and the scene was mainly illuminated by string lights above. I believe my ISO was set to 6,400 but I am not 100% sure. In stills...

    I bought it in 2016 and used it while traveling all around the world for a couple years. Then I replaced it with an x100f because I wanted more megapixels and better high ISO performance. However, the x30 was the perfect camera if they only put a larger sensor in there and say an x40. It also has a leaf shutter like the x100 series. Unfortunately, my x100f was damaged beyond repair so I am back to using the x30 and finding it nearly perfect for street, family, and travel. Especially as it fits in my jacket and pants pockets.

    Hey man, Great video. I’m thinking of a D3S. I bought a used D1 back in the day and love the feel of that camera and the quality of photos. Even that they were smaller files back then. The only reason I don’t use it anymore is the old batteries were not great. Still using your D3?

    Couple of tips, first hold the switch on down and pull the good cable to collapse the cylinder to give you some slack. If you use the Tommy kit it will give you both cable and it will be precuts to the right length for your lift. I normally spray a little gray primer into the upright channel to make it easer to see when I route the cables. After you are done it is super important to have the cables adjusted correctly. Both sides of the lift should make contact at the same time. If not you will have a busted cable much sooner then you want to deal with. It is supper important to route the cables correctly. If they are threaded wrong it will destroy your pulleys with is a difficult and expensive thing to repair. The Tommy p/n for there cable kit is #3123 (this is for a model 60 lift on a full size truck)

      I have a slightly bent arm on one side. So I have to pull the left side when dropping the gate cuz it sticks. Not sure what happened. The truck use to be my dad's and he installed the lift cuz he use to load oil barrels full of oil for recycling. That was his retirement job/hobby.

      arm can be replaced, part includes pins to hold them in. Will need a welding machine to install. Also p/n# 3818 Kick out spring will fix the sticking when going down. @@markhopkinsphoto7257

    My strong opinion is steer clear of Uship and other similar "broker companies" Folks, please use a real shipper, that actually own trucks or at least pays a contractor that they are DIRECTLY reponsible for. I used a company called Shiply. They took a commision and told me to pay the driver directly. The driver never showed up and kept $750. It caused a lot of grief with my family beyond the lost money. Will Uship pay you if the shipper steals your money? I doubt it. A broker wants you to trust the shipper, but they don't have any stake in the game. It isn't their money at risk, it's yours. If you want to save money, call around. there are many many legitimate shipping companies out there and some are cheap if you look hard enough. When I finally found a legitimate shipper, they were much cheaper than most of Shiply's quotes.

  • @danielsmith2447
    @danielsmith2447 Год назад

    I do a lot of uship stuff to fill out partial loads. Most of the customers I talk to say they don't respond to most questions because there are so many brokers out there trying to take these loads when they don't even own a truck. Try phrasing your question so that the shipper knows you are an actual hauler and not a broker.

    $600 in 2022? Think that is WAY too much. You can get an X100S for that price. I just picked this camera up for $200. I am concerned about the 2/3” sensor. It is larger than a cellphone camera sensor. Don’t know if I’ll be happy with the sensor vs an APSC sensor. More will be revealed. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

    Unfortunately, the Poway couple (Mr. and Mrs Tasteless A. Holes) who bought this house around 1999/2000 preceded to gut it with plans to raze it and build a modern mega-mansion in it's place. They had n permit to destroy the house and their actions were stopped by the city of Del Mar. The Holes stopped working on the property but by then it was just a shell. It sat like that for 20 years which totally destroyed what was left of it. Someone finally did raze it and the lot is now clear of all buildings. What the Holes couple did was horrific. I hope they're proud of themselves. But I am happy about one thing - answering an ad in the Union Tribune about architectural salvage got me into the place and I went through and bought several plumbing fixtures, towel racks, lighting fixtures, 125 (!) art deco cabinet pulls from the kitchen and pantry and every single scrap of the mahogany counter tops and backsplashes. This 1.75" mahogany is all solid boards with the largest one being 2 ft deep and 14 feet long. It was a magnificent house - much bigger looking inside than this video makes it look.What a fucking shame,

    Gotta love when a fight nerd sees a video where his favorite style doesn't dominate the fight and he immediately goes: "BuT tHAt'S nOt REaL *insert martial art name". Chill. Martial artists are supposed to be perpetual learners, some are going to be naturally better than others. Where is YOUR sparring video? Besides, light sparring is supposed to be a mutual training session, not complete domination. If part A is dominating part B then it's not training, it's just a show.

I get why some want the 36+ MegaPixel DSLR, but for me I want speed and accuracy that the D3 gives me in sports photography. Yes if you pixel peep the D3 pictures you will see some not so sharp area's. But overall I believe the D3 is legend and can do a great job for us who want a great handling DSLR on a budget even 15 years after it launched.
