    Sorry, only 8 Ohms ? That's stupid, many amps deliver more but need lower impedance for it. And some want higher impedance because of special speakers. Powered loadspeakers are exempt ? Sorry, all the real quality, like motion feedback, AMT, electrostatics, plasma, are active speakers because they make use of specific loudspeaker technology. The FTC is 50 years late, too late.

    • @soundapproach1972
      @soundapproach1972 29 дней назад

      Thanks for your feedback! I think the FTC is trying to boil down the info into something more understandable for consumers while also holding the manufacturers accountable for their findings so they don't inflate the power output capabilities of their equipment to sell more product. It doesn't mean amplifiers won't be capable of more or less impedance, just that everyone will be measuring output for their specifications from the same reference point. I definitely agree that the FTC was late to the party on this though. These measurements should've been standardized when the Amplifier Rule was first instituted. Thanks again!

    Wonderful video, guys. As a musician and guitar player, I’ve always used tube amps. As an audiophile, I enjoy tubes in the preamp section / line stage, but don’t mind SS amps as the power. Both applications have their pluses and minuses, but It’s certainly interesting how a technology approximately a century old is still being used. Even my profession a guitar luthier and tube amp repairman is interesting to me, in that the use of tubes still make me able to earn a living. Thanks again for the great video.

      the transistor inventor got a noble prize in 1948. he single handedly ruined the world's sound. but audiophiles and guitar players stood against it and the world was saved. transistors are awful they have to operate at 10% volume to sound their best because they sound so bad near clipping. look at the high end market 1600 watts class a/b transistors for home use it's a joke.

    I bought a pair of these in December 2021. I have them in my acousticly treated listening room and Love them. Hard to find for me at the time. I am a usa citizen, but have been living in Mexico for many years. Finally bought from a shop in Italy and shiiped to Mexico. My question : With only one thousand pairs being manufactured, O(I have #71 out of 1000), how can so many retailers still have them fo sale ?. Or am I an idiot for believing that it is a limited edition ?

    • @soundapproach1972
      @soundapproach1972 3 месяца назад

      Wow....that's a low number in the series and I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying them! We confirmed with the US importer that only 1000 pairs were made for all the finishes of the Comete 40th Anniversary Speakers and they say they still have enough stock to probably last until 2025. Basically, this means that each place you're seeing them listed probably only have a few on hand at any given time. The pair we reviewed (which we really enjoyed as well), were numbered out of 2000 because the numbering wasn't exclusive to the Comete or Antal Series, they combined both series with 1000 pairs each. To make a long story longer, this really is a limited edition speaker and not a gimmick...so I hope you continue to enjoy for many years to come.

      @@soundapproach1972 Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Two things to keep in mind (at least in my opinion) 1. I felt the need to use a subwoofer to get the most satisfactory experience. 2. Be prepared to experiment with patience the placement location in order to get the best imaging and sound stage possible. In my room inches from my ears, walls and toe-in were very difficult to nail down. But once I did, very enjoyable. And don't be afraid to have toe in a bit different on each speaker, depending on your points' of reflection for each speaker. ultimately each of my speakers were toed in aimed at the outside of each shoulder. Moving my head up and down slightly and or forward and back as little as 6 inches enabled me to refine even more, my listening position to obtain the "sweet spot". I have a great sweet spot, but I would say that it is about the size of a medium sized beach ball. So for me, listening alone it is great. but, not a large sweet spot. But when you "nail it" , You will know ! Great sound and incredibly beautiful in the dark Santos Rosewood. As you said, the packaging was incredibly protective as mine survived shipment from Italy to Mexico where they were unpacked and inspected , then sat for 6 weeks in Mx customs ,until all duties/ taxes and paperwork was completed., then on to me. For me , they are comparable to my Polk Audio LSi9 speakers. (20 years old). I recently rebuilt the crossovers in my Polk with better components, I still have a pair of the original polk LSi 9 crossovers, which I like better than my upgrades. Anyway, I love the Triangle Comete 40th anniv. as my as my Polk Audio LSi9's. Each have a unique , but satisfying sound.

    Built in phono PREAMP, not phono amp. Wow and flutter much too high, and S/N ratio much too low. Speed accuracy of 1.3% is poor. Best to lift headshell off the gauge while turning the conterweight. Make adjustment and set back on guage to check. Trust the gauge, not the numbers on the counterweight.I'm amazed you don't know the mat needs to be in place. It cushions the record, and reduces resonances. You might never get the speed dots to stay perfectly still. A very slight drift is acceptable. $250 price is way high. Something this quality level, should be around $150. Agree that it looks great, and the packaging looks first rate.This indeed a beginner's turntable, but a good step above the all in one, suitcase junk. Within a year, you'll want to step up to something better, and under $500. The maker has tried to emulate the appearance of the famed and expensive Technics SL-1200 series turntable, which can cost ove $1500, and is 4 times as heavy.

    I have a whole stable of cables; a cable stable, so to speak. Having just one pair or a few pairs of cables is like the poor kid in grade school who only has a budget pack of crayons, with only a few . Own many pairs and you're like the kid with the 128 pack with the pencil/crayon sharpener on the back. I can get so many different sounds with my large palette of many cables, and fix things about the sound that I don't like. Especially important in these days of high end preamps and integrateds rarely having tone controls. People after 15 and 20 upgrades are still running around trying to get that ideal balance of sound. I wonder if the cable doubters will pop up on here. They fancy themselves as intercontinental psychologists and try to convince us that perceived cable differences are delusionary. I've always wanted to try Wireworld, almost did. But went for Tellurium and Supra Sword instead, as my main go tos

    Hello and greetings to you. Good review! I happen to own the Sudara (the latest 2020 version), and I can honestly say that the Sundara is one helluva bargain for its sonic offering. I have heard Stax esl's and other $1000s headphone setups for many long listening sessions ovrr my many years as an audiophile/music lover. So I find myself much amazed at specifically the reasonably priced Sundara offering! Midrange fidelity is very important to me, so the Sundara model, in particular, in the HiFiMan lineup is my personal Goldilocks choice...gorgeous mids on that model. The transient performance for percussive sounds is also superb due to the minimal stored energy of the low-mass nanometer-thick diaphragm that you had mentioned in your video. There is a really nice amount of inner detail heard thanks to the near-perfect uniform drive of the planar diaphragm. Also, the spatial presentation is that of a nicely expansive soundstage due to good phase response characteristics. And all this at this amazingly low price point! A keeper, absolutely! Thank you for your review, and may you be prosperous looking ahead! 😊👍

      Yes, it is true and can range anywhere from 100-300 hours (sometimes longer) depending on the quality of the cables. During the manufacturing process, gasses can be trapped between the insulation and conductor and the burn-in process releases these gasses. Additionally, burn-in dissipates the high electrical charges which exist in new cables from the manufacturing process. Once completed, burn-in allows for the best sound quality after the conductor has settled into its best conductive state. Thanks for the question!

    Good speaker discussion! We would love to see a topic on power coming out of an outlet to your system. Power is notoriously dirty with noise and interference.
