This was great! Love to see some more battles of “available” stuff; maybe 100-110 and 110-120, and so on. Battle of wheaters. Battle of higher rye bourbons. Age battles 👍👍.

I like Wild Turkey products and have never gotten the fascination with Kentucky Spirit. It's good, but pretty expensive for what it is in my opinion.

As an FYI, unfortunately the Jimmy 70th will not end up as what the new 8 year offering will be (*according to Bruce Russell)

Sustained! I had this in a cigar lounge recently. I was thoroughly impressed with the depth, richness and lingering finish.

Blantons bashing is silly! It's 69.99 here in Chicagoland and is a very good bourbon for people with a sweet tooth! It does reasonably well in sub 75.00 sub 100 proof blinds...

Great review, and appreciate the A/B comparison, very helpful. Beam definitely had a big year in 2024 and doesn't get a enough credit in my opinion. I went out and got the infinite after your review and absolutely love it man. So well balanced and just huge flavor. Will be buying one of these soon. I am a rye fan and unapologetic beam guy. Did you try the little book ch 8? Its a rye blend with some older, high rye bourbon. Super good.

It's hard to compare a single barrel against a batch, Old Forester barrel proof varies a TON based on the warehouse and floor.

It's boring to drink. Almost anything beats it in a blind. It's not hated on enough for that price.

Two different flavor profiles. It would be a great preference.

Picked up a Smoke Eye Hill CS a few weeks ago and I was surprised how good it was, wish I got a backup. Those OF sbbp bottles are pretty tasty also 😋 Cheers 🥃 💯 👍

Smokeye is special. Hopefully, it continues to be available online at a fair price.

On the pepper - I had batch 53 or so. It was good. Got better as it opened up. It was not as impressive as RUclips led me to believe. Have heard a lot of the newer batches aren't as good as the older ones. Glad to hear a vote against the decline. GR - I really like how subtle Green River products are. The old full proof was nice. Looking forward to trying the new bottle as your notes are more up my alley. Not a huge rye spice fan.

First Bookers purchase, this was to me was a great value. Great nose and wonderful mouth feel.

Blantons is over-rated. I like it but im not spending days looking for it and paying $100+ like some do. I'd rather pay the $50 for the 1792. Great video!

While I do enjoy the sniffing and drinking, the educational stuff really does something for me. I see whiskey as an art crossed with history and science. It makes me feel good if I drink a bunch, but that's not really what I'm in it for anymore most days.

I have always though blantons was pretty bland. $30 juice in a $45 decanter. And now that they jacked the price $10 in 5 months I will spend my money on better bottles and let the taters fight over the sub par juice at the allocation drops.

I just ran into one of these the other day for $65 on a military base (yay, no tax!) I don’t have one those palettes that can describe every note and flavor. But what I can say is that the more I get past the neck, the more pleasant it becomes. Don’t get me wrong, I liked that first hot pour too! I’m going back to get another if they still have some left.

I stopped drinking Blanton's in 2000 when I found out their premium Bourbon's, Gold, Silver and SFTB were not offered to we mere Americans. I could care less about packaging and a stupid horse cork. Pay extra for that crap? LOL!!

Gotta love anytime an underdog wins the battle! I like the "hype horsie" but it does often fall short at such a low proof.

Did you get your hands on any Holladay 8yrs? If so, love to hear what you think vs their regular RH proofs 👍

Not sure where you're purchasing but here in Virginia all liquor is priced at or around MSRP and the Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend sells for $179.99. I purchased one a couple of months ago, and it's been hitting the shelves again this past week with the recent allocation drops at the same price.

Just cracked my C924 open right after this video dropped. I usually like them more after they're open for a bit. Still haven't opened B524 yet for some reason. Maybe soon. I do agree they should have waited to change to the new look.
