Refuge
Refuge tells the story of Rita, who had to leave her home due to a series of uncontrollable events. This documentary finds out more about how Cardiff is a sanctuary for so many people who have found themselves in Wales and what life is like for people in unsettling circumstances. We hear a specific story of one individual in this film, but Rita is just 1 of thousands that has dealt with situations such as the ones spoken about in this film.
Refuge has already been shown in one independent film festival in Cardiff and the plan is to spread this film further in a hope to share the important messages within the documentary.

"Two Sides of a Coin" Short Film

A story of two strangers on their first date. They don't have much in common but it seems that something as simple as a penny can bring two people together... I was Director of Photography for this film. Although it was a challenge, I very much enjoyed the experience and can't wait to make many more productions in the near future. Thanks to all of the crew for pulling together to get this done ...

I didn't understand the ending. She took some things out of her pocket and saw -- what, a penny?
I'm guessing, he doesn't believe in talismans of sort, so he put the coin back to her pocket. In the end, she realized he put the coin to her pocket because she's the one believing in the luck that the coin can bring. But now that she felt like she's lucky enough to have him, she threw away the coin, thinking that it wasn't luck or fate that brought them together but love.
@@rave743 Wow, thanks for the thorough explanation, Rave! It sounds like a reasonable reading of the story.
Perhaps she wished to pay it forward and share the gift of luck/love, that another person might also have a bright day and find a lucky coin, and some joy.
I like the way you cast a male shorter then the female. Nice diversity. The film was well done.
