    FS22 really was the same as FS19 imo just you have to buy all the vehicles again sure some minor tweaks but if they dont do minor tweaks they would run out of content.

    I think Farm Sim is a fabulously successful game. The first one I got was FS 13 and I own every PC version since then. I can't wait for FS 25! I think some folks want rtx 4090 level graphics which would easily cut out three quarters or more of the gamers that have made Farm Sim such a huge successful game. As far as Sony and MS not allowing script mods...that's not a thing Giants controls at all so I really don't get the grief pointed against them. Take that to Sony and MS where it belongs.

  • @Ham68229
    @Ham68229 День назад

    First off, really not sure where you're going with this. Secondly, companies, all are in competition but, in this particular genre of gaming, let's face it, there really isn't much competition against Giants. Now, as for console player issues... that's just the problem with consoles period, either upgrade or "suck it up" and deal with your limitations. If you look at the video trailer, many textures have improved and yes, I'm looking forward to seeing what FS25 will bring to the table. But, there's something not being touched on but only the was mentioned by your video short clips... brands. Giants as with any other company has to abide by what the other "brand" companies want and expect. Believe it or not but, both sides of this coin pays each other now, rather which one makes more profit, that's usually the game developer. However, @georgemeyer850 has hit the nail on the head per say.

    The current engine and them having their own engine is good because it can do what they specifically need it to do. The PROBLEM here is that they refuse to improve the engine itself and rather just expand on existing concepts and mechanics that are already in the engine like adding more crops or brands. Which is why they do that is because its easier and they just want to make money. It sucks. Because they have no competition either.

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming День назад

      Well, brands are all dependent on who pays what to get into the game. And with JD and others expecting a drop in Sales, at least in the US, the next year or two, they would probably have a harder time getting new stuff in any way. The 500 item limit makes no sense to me. And with crops, I think you are right on the money. If they don't have to add them, why do it, especially when modders do it for them for very little money, which Giants chooses to pay.

    Yeah, having Iseki AND Kubota gives them reasonable security to add rice. I'm hoping "stars align" is a Diamler truck DLC, (Mitsubishi Fuso, Mercedes, Western Star) I wonder if they'll have an Asian truck brand base game (truck in trailer looked like a generic Hyundai/Kia Porter/Bongo) and we know Hyundai truck & Bus does game collabs, the Porter is licensed in PUBG.

  • @StefanBacon
    @StefanBacon 2 дня назад

    I will preorder both collector's and Steam editions, but maybe after my next paycheck. I won't pre-order a season pass. My voice in buying the packs I'm happy about as they come out is more valuable to me than the savings. If I had pre-ordered season 1, how would Giants know that I was thrilled about the Kubota DLC? They wouldn't know, but they do because I bought it and made my coworker buy it so we could use it in multiplayer.

    as a real farmer i love what farming simulator is doing it gives players freedom to play as eal or as arkady as they want. the graphics are good and i like the clean look ove a gritty dark more real look. anothe eason for limiting mods equally is to help with crossplay. if you treat the physics realistically you can get them to work realisticly but also some people like playing and doing stupid thisngs with the physics

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 2 дня назад

      My big problem with the physics is that items don't really have weight. They have lifting weight, but no sort of drag or friction. It's what makes loading trailers way more difficult than it should be, especially logs. It's why you can use a stick to move a downed tree. In ways, it can be handy, but I think if they worked more realisticly, you wouldn't need to do it, like the trees that get stuck standing straight up on the stump after being cut. Or the trailers that always tip because the weight doesn't actually push down on the wheels, so the slightest shift in angle topples them because the center of gravity stays higher than it should.

  • @92ford13

    Hold up wait a minute, they make enough money from manufacturers to cover the costs of development! What the heck are they doing with all the other money they’re bringing in? It sure doesn’t look like they’re putting it back into making the game better. That’s a lot of money just banking in from sales.

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 2 дня назад

      Well, they did start doing everything in house, so they do have to cover all marketing, distribution, their exports league, and paying all staff. But yes, I imagine that isn't all of the money. I won't blame anyone at Giants for having a large salary, though. I think what the founders and everyone there has accomplished so far has earned them that. But I think there should be more of a focus on improvement than what we see. And that we should have just seen the game instead of a pointless Cinematic. Even 1 minute of gameplay would have made me happier and more excited.

    Honestly, I'm both hyped and not for the new release. I've gotten so much enjoyment out of FS22 so I'm hoping they can just expand on it and I'll pay my yearly subscription to keep playing the new version. (Yes I know you don't 'have' to pay that but like I said, I feel I'm getting my moneys worth ..... so far)

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming

    finally, someone with the guts to say what is needed to be said! although at this point i don't think its gonna matter at all, Giants is too big of a company for them to care about or seriously think about what people think about them. i do not doubt that when they started developing FS, they had good intentions for everything, but as with most others, greed usually win out in the end, which is what os happening now. the problem is that they have a monopoly and always mostly have, they are the only ones in the industry who have made something even remotely playable, which is a big part of the problem. if Giants had more competition i think the landscape would look a lot different and we wouldn't be playing a stagnating game with an engine that really is showing it's age now. for Giants these days, they aren't really concerned about the player base as much as they are pleasing the bottom line, they know they are the only game in town and they know that no matter how hard or loud people complain, they still keep playing or keep coming back to the game, because there is nowhere else to go. i was really hoping for a new game engine this time around, but at the same time i also knew it probably wasn't gonna happen, its just not a good financial decision to make when your game sells this good, to then chance at porting the game to say unreal or unity, that would be a decision that took away from profits to make the community happy which i personally don't believe they care about anymore, at least not enough to give us what we really want and what we keep giving them money for in the hopes that this time is gonna be the one. i have said this for years now, ever since fs19 came out that people are so brainwashed now and so deep into it financially that they cant think or see straight, because that would make them realize how bad everything is now and how much money they have wasted over the years on purchasing the games, the dlc's and heck maybe even accessories as well, so you will never get enough people to speak up and speak the truth about what they really want or do what is necessary to get it. the whole modding aspect is what is keeping the game alive, if mods weren't available the game would have died out on its own with fs19 or fs22, because quite frankly i believe would should have been given a completely overhauled game there, and as for console mods, they should screw over Sony and just cater to PC and Xbox only and then making two seperate categories for each platform to max out their potentials, but that would also hurt the bottom line which Giants is not prepared to do.

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 2 дня назад

      Yeah, I am really starting to look at them as more of a marketing company. We know how well unrealistic mods do, as well as vintage equipment mods. The two categories are what most players seem to like, but we don't see much if any of that base game because they can't get paid to make that stuff. Then you have in-game billboards for dlc packs...

    • @minkavleren
      @minkavleren 2 дня назад

      @@LoneWolfHeroGaming Giants these days in my eyes are no better than Bethesda, Bioware and EA, it's the same BS just better hidden since Giants are not actively shouting that they just want the money, but they do come up with ridiculous excuses for the how's and why's for not doing something, or anything for that matter.

  • @ViolemAllum
    @ViolemAllum 3 дня назад

    It's also not really a simulator. It's really more of a casual game. They're never going to add anything remotely realistic like compaction. They can't even make properly working pallet physics. It's just a cozy casual game where you paint different textures on a dirt texture.

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 2 дня назад

      Yeah. And being more of a casual game it's a bit more accessible, but I think there is a lot they could do without making it too difficult for new players. They just don't have a huge reason to.

  • @NORKIE

    Farm8ng sim is one of those games that will fade into nothingness the moment someone makes a better one on UE5 they could move to the engine, it is free after all but they dont, they're going to charge you a tripple a price for a game running on a 2013 game engine, people mock bethesda for having an old engine bit my god... farming sim takes the cake for incompetent developers.

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 2 дня назад

      It's not exactly free, that's only if you don't sell anything. It would cost a 5% royalty. So a rough estimate is fs22 would have cost something like 9 million on royalties. 5% though doesn't seem like much to me when development cost was paid for. But if you are a Giants C suite employee, and part of that 9mil is gonna potentially come out of your bonus.... well that's a different story.

    Eh I'm happy to see what's new and interesting they need to do some major balancing. The new crops seem neat new vehicles i guess a dirt bike is cool but it seems like a useless addition? Id like to see mining or earthwork stuff coming in like they did logging i think that would be a amazing addition to the game. There are issues I have with the graphics being like only slightly better yeah the crops look a little better but textures and lighting don't look that much better in the in game screenshots obviously the trailer is all rendered and made outside of that. Physics they need to improve driving and machinery physics hitting a train crossing at 20MPH in a pickup and being shot off the road because the suspension doesn't move is silly as hell all of the semis have this same issue the tractors and machinery seems ok Physics and collisions on loads and things falling over for no reason still plagues the game. The new terrain deal sounds fun and enjoyable hopefully its a good game I don't want to see it fail or not be good.

      I don't disagree, but I don't think the community is there yet. If they priced it at $100 base game it'd be different, but people don't consider that $80-90 for year 1 then another $30 for year 2 is just a way to price a game at $110-120. Which is the price of 2-3 games.

    I think we need to note that Farm Sim used to come out every other year (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019) and FS22 was originally gonna be released in 2021 but Covid caused a big problem and delayed the game by a year. Now it doesn't mean it was a 3 year game, just a 2 year game stretched out longer. After FS22 they made the decision to keep the 3 year development cycle so FS25 will be the first actual game in the series that got the full 3 year attention. So I expect a lot of bigger developments that wouldn't fit in a 2 year cycle. Also it's being built for the more powerful current consoles so that's a great change to break free from older restrictions. That's my hope anyway. PS- I'm super excited for Rice. Been asking for years for it

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 4 дня назад

      Great points. The thing I haven't seen brought up about last gen consoles being included for FS22 that everyone seems to have forgotten is at least microsoft, I'm not sure about Sony, was requiring games be released on both for a period of time after the X/S launch, to try and reduce the complaints about pricing and availability. So Giants may not have had a choice. There were a lot of dev complaints about that requirement holding their games back.

    The animated trailers are always a joke. Most good/great games create trailers from "actual" in-game footage. This game could be so much more, every time a new release comes out the re-tweaked game engine is always behind other current game engines. I like to farm mostly in FS, I don't go racing on roads, do everything in the Sim but farming. I feel every time we get a a new release Giants gets a little further away from farming. A couple more releases and we'll be looking a release that's more like the old game, The Sims. Giants just doesn't do enough testing, a new release would benefit so much from a open beta test for like 2 - 4 weeks!

      @@LoneWolfHeroGaming It's unfortunate, but I think it shows the complexity of building an engine of similar size/quality as what Giants have with their own engine. As much as it would be great if they built on top of an engine like Unreal so they could easily transition from one engine to another (like UE3->4->5), I think it'll take an independent dev like what was done with Stardew to shake up the space.

    My biggest concern is more over how little effort they put into the year 2 pass. And didn’t even make a statement or apology for DMI’s paid mod disaster. Seems they have got quite full of themselves.

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 7 дней назад

      Well, I think the biggest problem with FS22 year 2 is the product placement thing. They made the stuff they were paid to instead of focusing on gameplay and community requests, beyond we want more crops. My biggest complaint about Premium is that they gave no incentive in game to do it. It takes forever to harvest the crops and you don't make any more money than if you did standard crops that are faster. Bad gameplay, and since they don't have any sort of contracts to grow crops, or government subsidies for growing certain crops, if I was running a farm why would I buy equipment that costs more to grow crops that take longer to work, to sell for the same amount as easier crops? If they apologized they would be admitting fault... A last resort for any business. I think only way a statement could not admit fault is if they blamed DMI, which would then make them look bad to modders who they rely on.

    • @joelg8004

      I know. I am cautiously hopefull after seeing the screenshots from FS25, but there's no saying what sort of pc it was taken from. It could be a massively overpowered rig. Plus what they've shown so far is stuff that has been in other games for years.

  • @gordobot24
    @gordobot24 8 дней назад

    I think you are pretty spot-on with this assessment. The game engine is okay, but lacking. If FS22 was released in 2016, things would be much more on-pace with the market. What they have (still have) is a game focused around re-painting textures as you drive around doing farm tasks. Take how water is handled as a plane for example. Dirt, the foundation of what you are dealing with plays very little role in the overall gameplay. My frustration comes in the “madden effect” in their release pattern, coupled with modders making this game what it is today. Very little innovation from GIANTS. At some point, with this much money to be had in this specific market, a large developer is going to poke into this market and force change.

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 7 дней назад

      Yeah, I think that the fact Giants stays pretty tight lipped about money is helping them. If they were to public, as a company, and have to show their earnings reports someone would probably take it up. No one really knows how much they have been making. And manufacturers haven't gotten smart yet, they could just hire modders to make their machines and equipment for Farming Simulator, for probably much less than they pay Giants, branded versions would only be available for PC, but so what if it's lizard with the correct colors.

    "ALL the cars get damaged in racing games " no they don't. Why aren't there more products in the game when manufacturers are waiting? Console restrictions, that's well known. • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 9 дней назад

      Thanks for your input. I think the least amount of damage I have seen in a racing game is cars getting covered on dents, which is still more than FS. Plus, they normally have internal/tire damage that can shut down the car. But I'll admit I barely play them. The productions, or any other possible features for that matter, come down to time. The more time between games, the more time they have to build. Yes, unless they hire more or outsource, both of which are typically a last resort in business, doing more with less = less cost.

      @DutchModeling Ahhh, I haven't played that it years, alwasy was a good game, though. Forza has them get dented, rather badly. And I have seen others where it goes as far as pieces flying off and moderate deformation. I think BeamNG is the only thing I've seen where the frame will get deformed, but I don't really count that in. They don't have licensing deals. @@GFP_Shorts4955given the facts that the entire united states has a population of almost 400.000.000 people, i would say that a farming game made specifically for that market would give a better rating and more downloads, because even if only 1% of Americans farm today, that is still 1% out of 400.000.000, I don't see a whole lot of europeans play it at least. and in my honest opinion, the game really isn't better than fs23 at all, it has different features for sure, but not enough to make up for everything else, the game itself visually is not very good, just like fs23, but the amount of potential players is quite a lot bigger. also remember that, the chances of people owning or having a phone is quite a bit bigger than the chances of the same people owning a console or a pc.

    thank you for the information and the time you put into it hard to find clear information for logging. The devourer mod if i think its the mod i think it is gives you probbably more because you get all the little branches. I think that is the reason why you get more volume.

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 13 дней назад

      It could be, I didn't really take any time to try and figure it out since it could also be something about how it was coded it suppose, like the woodchipper in the old sawmill in Silverrun. I was just surprised to see such a big increase with some of the trees.

  • @daanloman61
    @daanloman61 14 дней назад

    Well now I get why my pile of branches is causing so much frame loss as I pile on to them. I’m playing a realistic series on pallegney clearing a part of a mixed forest (F112) when I have nothing to do but feed animals in the winter. I broke something making fieldwork possible through a mild winter with barely any snow. I now have the anderson trailer and move the perfect and good shaped 4 meter logs to the sawmill. The rest get piled to be woodchipped when I can buy one. For delivering to the sawmill I think the volume of wood in liters doesn’t need the perfect sell length so that is something to consider if they are used to produce other products. I went with the upgrade productions mod because wow such a decently sized sawmill should process more than 3 logs per day. I do wonder if it’s for realism better to cut little pieces up or sell bigger logs as firewood. I suppose smaller pieces of wood sell less so I might need to get one of those firewood mods

    • @LoneWolfHeroGaming
      @LoneWolfHeroGaming 13 дней назад

      Yeah, I have piled up trees to process down and never understood why the game would start stuttering, and really, it should be able to handle it, but I guess it just can't. If you are looking to make more do a firewood mod, but really, firewood sells for less than lumber does anyways, so you could still just do it if you want the realism. Around me, a cord of seasoned hardwood firewood is about 350 delivered. With branches I tend to reason that, the way the sawmills work in game they must have a shredder/chipper in them for the offcuts since they don't put out any firewood, so dropping the branches off there to be chipped almost makes more sense then buying a chipper. Just load them up in a dump trailer and let your staff spend the time feeding them into a machine so you can get back to logging or farming 😉
