This is how I grew a Carolina reaper plant hydroponically. I gave a somewhat long-winded explanation of everything that I did. Enjoy!
Phatmoto Rover 2020 Review (2 year update)!

This is an expansion on the video that I did back in 2020 about my bike. All parts and links can be found in the original video. The only notable change is the welded jackshaft, but otherwise this bike is great! I absolutely recommend. Sorry for the late review 😅.
Goose Cam footage!

They let themselves out of their high-tech coop and found their way into the pool while I was 40 miles away at work... Now if I can train them to go home at sunset I can remotely close the coop and fully automate their little goose lives ☺️

Phatmoto Rover 2020 120 day Owners review with Upgrades and recommendations!!!
Great video my friend. I been thinking about one of these for some time. But as of all the nagging things that go wrong I do not need to be stranded on the side of the road somewhere. But with what you wrote I can see I could duplicate your Up grads & have a much more reliable ride. What might your top speed be?😊
I would love to have one of them
I ride mine 15 miles per day weather permitting. Never had a problem. I also have a bike cargo trailer for groceries.
How many trillion miles review we got on it now ?
No link for the grips??
Whyyyyy?
Yogurt cuts the burn.
I see no one owns a weedwacker there
After the snow finishes . You can move that lawn dammit.
Hahaha I just let it grow wild! I'll do it in the next few weeks lol! I've been busy!

If you add bolts to the jackshaft in the open holes then it will stay placed better. The bolt will screw right through to the key slot.
I never tried that! Thanks 😊! I just welded mine. The poor thing carried me from December through January because my clutch failed... it definitely needs a tune-up but it's alive lol! Other people can use your method so thanks man!
@@daviddawson574 of course! The littlest things can get you far.
Where can i get that seat?
What is the seat and stand over height?
Dunno... maybe 4 ft or so?
Bro. Thanks for an honest review of this bike. Everything you mentioned to be problems like jack shafts and brakes. My seat and kick stand broke first day.
Absolutely! I'm riding mine rn because my car is in the shop, and I had to build a new rear tire YESTERDAY because the axel broke on the mag wheel... again 😅. But the bike IS saving me a fortune on Uber! I also replaced the engine after around 15000 miles. But they're cheap. It's still carting me around lol!
Nice! What YT videos are meant to be! Well done.
Nice looking bike 🚲 especially the rims it
Chain tensioner is supposed to be under the chain pushing up, not above pushing down. As it is, the chain can jump off the sprocket much too easily. Not safe.
I've ridden this bike for 15000 miles and that has never happened before. I drive a car now but but that is simply not true! I've already addressed that point in the comments. It's a chain TENSIONER, so how could the chain jump off the sprocket under tension?
Because you're pushing the chain out, centrifugal force pushes it out more, chain looks too tight as well, probably why it hasn't come off. Speaking from 50+ years bicycle and general mechanical experience. Not saying you're an idiot, or anything of the sort, just want you to be safe.
@@alloriginal62 If that's the case, then pardon me... I only made this video to help other people and if that is what is accomplished by you sharing your expertise then our collective work is accomplished! The original pulley wheel was sliding down the bracket with tension on the chain, causing the chain to jump repeatedly. I believe that the bracket was of cheap manufacture and would buckle under pressure. So my solution was to buy a new tensioner wheel and arm, a recliner spring off of Amazon, and a pipe clamp, and to jerry rig a new tensioner at the BOTTOM of the bracket where it could not fall anymore lol! It's not perfect, and now I do know WHY the tensioner should be mounted high... but it IS an effective solution in a pinch. My bike still works even now, although I have it locked away. I bought a car lol! Thanks for your addition to this video... we ALL need to learn more. I'm about to add a few new projects to this Channel to help people. 1: Biomass Gasifier with filters and generator build (along with capacitor) for cheap energy manufacture at home. 2: DIY hydroponic Carolina Reaper setup. And 3: Farming rabbits for meat Industry I made! You can see all that on my channel in the coming 12 months!
I honestly had no intent to offend you. I built my first two stroke bike this summer, and I am now an enthusiast. Ran across your video while researching Phatmoto, as I am about to pull the trigger on a 2022 Rover,( as soon as I decide on color) and already planning a Predator 212 swap, after the 'new wears off'. Your bike looks great, love to see people getting into the hobby. Keep up the good work, and stay safe.
so you have at about 1000 hrs on it, with a average of 15mph
Yeah I would imagine... about 20mph and 15,000 miles.
man, that thing has seen some use!
Got some of those wheels coming. The tube that came with the bike started leaking before I even rode it

im going to see if a Honda gx100 engine will fit. are you using E10 fuel?
I use 91 from any gas station. Seems to work fine.
I had a problem with my pedal rods stripping the crank where it bolts into the crankshaft with the allen key, no matter how tight i got that bolt it was allready wore out and would have wobble, so to solve problem get a welder and weld it to the shaft on the back side and weld the bolt to from backing out, its supper solid now and you can pedal as hard as you want.
I agree! But if you Weld it together you won't be able to lubricate the bearings that are inside and eventually It will be really difficult to peddle at all. I had to change the entire pedal assembly on an electric bike I had but with this one I don't think I've had to take it apart yet... you're absolutely right though the pedal on the left side CONSTANTLY comes loose. Right now I'm using locktite and lock washers 😅.
Yea was my left side to but aftet the welds it feels super solid,
What's your contact option??
I don't really know what you mean lol
Sounds like low compression
That seat looks quite comfy.
GREAT REVIEW!!!! You convince me to not ever buy this bike. Bike is a nice concept but the quality of parts on it do not make it worth $1000.00!!!! You had to replace half the parts on it. What a joke! Better off building your own bike with parts you know will last.... Great review! Best, Michael M.
Lol that wasn't the intended effect but I'm glad that you found it useful! Mine still works but I did pay around $1600.00 to make it "fail-proof" lol. Good luck man!
Would you recommend this for doing delivery? Will it perform atleast 600miles per week without headache ??
Absolutely! It has a diehard, well designed engine and even though I bought a spare for about $150 I STILL use the original no problems after about 15,000 miles!
Cool tensioner design! I used something similar on my 15 year old Grubbe bike build-John in Texas
Great video, thank you. Can you tell me how they get into and out of the pool?
good video. so replacement parts are available. whats the purpose for pedaling bike just for emegencies. 100mpg very impressive. cost of bike?
All i heard was “ummmmmmm”
It's either this or a electric bike A buddy of mine said electric won't get me pulled over but this review (and gas stations being everywhere) make me want this bike more my grandpa taught me how to weld and has a welder too
I had an electric bike first! They're MUCH more difficult to work on when they break (something about magnets and electrical wiring) and much more expensive to maintain brother get this one and with minimal everyday tools PLUS a few specialty tools you can easily build and maintain this bike WITHOUT a mechanic they're easy and cheap and really reliable. If my house wasn't so far from my job I'd still only own this and I won't sell mine it's a DIEHARD vehicle that the media doesn't talk about man you'll be able to give it to your son one day lol go for it, honestly man! As far as the cops are concerned, there is a guy on RUclips that built a juiced up bike that can go 80mph and slapped a 50cc sticker on the side 🤣 they can't do anything about it! Just ride it off the sidewalk and follow state laws and put front and rear lights that's it!
Always remember you have a right to travel
you could always have best of both world im in the process of building a hybrid phatmoto. electric front hub gas power to the rear got me a 2x2 ready for the trails or if you hit e you got back up to get to the gas station.
I'm seriously considering getting a 2023 version, along with installing a Cyclone mid drive electric motor.
@@2000freefuel Do it!!!!
the acceleration isnt too bad on these
D8D U VENT UR GASCAP?
Hole in the threads where the cap goes. Vented there
This bike is so cool btw
Thanks so much! It's really awesome I have it as emergency transportation lol!
I have one to ride to work on summer days . Imma get those wheels for my bike and the kevlar tires. I have an all red phatmoto
How do I know what max torque clutch to get? I have the 2022 phatmoto with the Hilliard clutch and I'm not a big fan of it cuz idk how to maintain it really MT clutch seemed easier to grease up than the hilliard
You have to research what size clutch the 2022 model uses... make sure the bore or "inner diameter" hole fits correctly, and that the number of teeth are the same. Then it will fit. I can only tell you the size of the 2020 model (probably the same), but your best bet is to research and then match the specs.
Yours is perfect
How are the geese
Ok... unfortunately, two of them are dead 😔. Bubbles was attacked by some kind of bird, and so I bought a dog to protect Blossom and Buttercup. After about 2 months, he broke his chain and mauled Blossom too. So now, only Buttercup remains. She's been roosting sterile eggs and hiding for a few months. So, I'm going to build an aviary out of bird netting for them, and I'm also giving her a stud (Prince Albert) so that she can raise kids... Hopefully that helps her. I truly loved my geese 🥲. It's ok, I'm building up the farm now so that everyone is safe and happy!
@@daviddawson574 I'm so srry to hear hope it works out for u and them also I seent ur Lil rabbits
@@ActrightYT Yeah I've got quite a few now... I keep half the heard under my house for temperature control they are all doing really well and I'm looking forward to breeding them out in earnest come this fall!
Exposed sprockets and chains look dangerous.
The cover is on the ground there... I just took it off to demonstrate the upgrades done.
thank you for this video brother. stay safe and god bless you.
And you as well, sir!
That’s neat.
The jack shafts are a weak point on the bike. Welding the sprockets is a good fix, eventually you will have to replace the shaft when the sprockets wear out. Buy a new one and have it welded before putting it on. My bike is a 2019, which has a different jack shaft, it is a keyed shaft, ( not the spline). I have changed it out for a true 5/8" shaft , 5/8 bearings, mini hub and lock collars, so I can change gear ratios at will. The engines are very strong and the bikes just need periodic maintenance and they will last. Thanks for the review.
I agree... I was replacing the Jack shaft once every 3 months or so but I will buy one more and have it welded for a spare! I agree 1000% I think that these bikes are really strong and that with the right upgrades other people can use them as a primary vehicle for work or whatever they need transportation for. I believe that riding these bikes as an economical alternative to driving a car with all the fees that it involves (like gas 🤯) is definitely viable. That's why I made these videos... to share my experiences with others and to create a comprehensive guide for younger people or anyone looking for an alternative means of transportation. Thanks man for your feedback, I think that others can really benefit from stuff like this!
Hi Beau, do you have a link for the parts you suggested? I'm about to buy one of these and would like to do a few upgrades for versatility (the gear ratio swap) and longevity.

They look like rats but there so cute
They walk like little bears lol! They grow fast too!
Nice i like it
Thx for the great video. Wanting one of these too. Expected to make some upgrades but worth it. Love the black but I'll get flattened for sure. Thx for the links!
Ahhh
Gran says she remembers watching the geese swimming.
Also with the Max torque clutch you don't need to oil it like the stock one it has a bronze centered bushing with oil impregnated in it.
Your chain tensioner is not good it should come from the bottom and lift up on the chain not push down on it.
Honestly, I drive a 2014 honda accord now, which is why I haven't made an update video yet. I bought a house and I'm kinda busy. That being said, I rode this bike for a year or more, well over 15,000 miles to work, with the parts that you see in this video (along with an upgraded/welded jackshaft). The featured/invented chain tensioner is still on the bike, and it still works. I'll use this bike to walk my dog. What, exactly, is inherently incorrect or "wrong" about the position of the chain tensioner wheel? If it has worked all these years, why is it broken, again?
