Hey! So sorry I haven't had time to film an edit a video on how to put on pants... but from what you're telling me it sounds like the pants are too big! Guapon used to have that problem with a pair he had a while back. The shoulder straps were too long and he kept getting his feet caught! You should at the very least be able to fit a finger in-between the pants and your pigeon, if it's more then it is too big! Hope this helps. ❤

He is a disabled pigeon who cannot fly! He knows basic recall, and follows me around the house no matter what. 🥰

No, Bird may fly away. Many pet birds have been lost bbecause first they come to owner or don't leave but one day or night he/she suddenly flyes away bcause sky and nature birds seems so fascinating. My dove was found when lost but neibourgh's don't and parrot was find dead here a couple of days after flying away from window.

Aw thank you! Sorry for late response. Guapon is an everyday feral pigeon, like the ones you see out on the street! Wing twitching is when a pigeon twitches their wing when they're happy, excited, scared, or feel threatened. Hope this helps!

@@Goatcookie I got Guapon through a humane society! Feral pigeons are just as domesticated as fancy pigeon breeds. I could have gotten a fancy pigeon such as an Old German Owl. I instead came across Guapon's ad on Petfinder and fell in love with him! It really doesn't matter what type of pigeon you choose as long as the breed and temperment suits your needs. Pigeons choose their favorite gender randomly but most of the time it's based on their interactions with a certain gender. Guapon hates men for some unknown reason and takes to women better and other pigeons might like men more instead!

Yes, sometimes pigeons will prefer a certain gender! Guapon hates most men and loves all women lol. I highly recommend putting a harness on her when taken outside so she doesn't fly off to the wrong person. Hand raised pigeons think they're human so she will rather mate bond to a human than a bird. Aww that's so cute! Yeah sometimes it's a little weird telling people that your bird is mate bonded to you. But I don't think of Guapon as my husband he's my baby boy!

Yes! She's bonded to you, wing twitching can mean many things but in your case she's very happy! She's basically saying "I love these pets give me more!"

@Guapon The Pigeon the situation is, my pigeon hates me! Lol. Only because he's a rescue, and I had to do terrible things to him (medicated dip for feather lice and mites). I still have to do another dip in a week or two, so it's going g to be a long road of gaining his trust after all the "torture". I see many pigeon punches in my future.

Thank you for commenting! I should have been more clear on keeping a feral bird. Of course if it already has a mate you shouldn't just take it, but if it has injuries like you said you should obviously take it in and take it the vet. Guapon was (and still is to some people) incredibly aggressive but he loved cuddles more than anything that I was able to quickly tame him 😂

Poultry also does only lay constantly eggs when domesticated and breed that way. Wild chicken (red jungelfowl) only breed seasonal, in winter or spring, but not the rest of the year. Humans bred chicken to lay more and more eggs during the year. Same is true for domesticated rock pigeons. It's different in other pigeon species of course, but the video was only about rock pigeons, I think (even there was a short display of wood pigeons, that also only lay eggs during summer in Europe). I have no expertise of collared doves so. Just wanted to say that laying a lot of eggs during the year is something that humans selected for in domesticated birds.

Yes! Guapon is incredibly vain and likes to take baths not once not twice but three times a week in front of his mirror!

@@guaponthepigeon7122 haha you’re so lucky he does. My two babies were averaging one a week but they’re slowing down. They bathed today so i was really pleased. ❤️

@@seansmart2756 Guapon used to be a dirty man who would only bathe once a month! I gave him a big water bowl so he had the option to do it whenever!

Thank you for the lovely comment! They're still young and will not bond to each other since they haven't reached sexual maturity the will reach it at 6 months. I have to be honest I never owned a pair of pigeons before but there are a lot of pigeon forums online! If you have Discord you could either join my Discord server Pecks and Poops or Companion Pigeon Chat I would recommend joining Companion Pigeon Chat since there are many loft owners and breeders who know how to deal with babies. Taming your pigeons could take a while have you tried having your hands next to their cage? Or just being on the phone around them? If they learn that your hands never invade their personal space or never do any harm they will hopefully be a bit more comfortable around your hands! I hope this helped feel free to comment any more questions :)

@@guaponthepigeon7122 thank you for taking the time to get back to me on a video you posted a while ago - I didn’t expect it. I had wondered if it was just because there was two of them at once (brother and sister) and it would take a while longer. They’re out of their cage from morning til night. They’re in my room or out in the aviary I converted for them. They come to my arms, sit on my shoulders and head. But each morning we start all the scared way again, running away when I move or get close. I don’t have discord or anything else like that I’m afraid. RUclips has been my saving grace as there isn’t much online on the way for pigeons. ❤️

@@seansmart2756 Your welcome! I always try to respond to any comments on my video no matter how old the video is! They could be a little frightened by you in the morning because they aren't expecting it? I really don't have any clue my best guess would be to go inside the room they are in at the same time everyday if you aren't doing that already. I really do recommend getting discord and joining pigeon servers since there are so many knowledgeable people there!
