Monster Hunter enthusiast and historian, of sorts! This channel is mostly for documentation of other older Monster Hunter games (including Frontier, the Portable/Freedom series, and 4 Ultimate), as well as some content from the newer games. Hope you enjoy, and ~Happy Hunting!~
SWITCH AXE BUILD - Elden Ring DLC x Monster Hunter (Lv. 200)

While I was away on vacation and starting up school again, I figured I could try to make another MH build in Elden Ring, and found out that Ghostflame Call AoW looks oddly similar to the Elemental Discharge from the Switch Axe.... and then I figured it out!
Wild Swings on a Greataxe to mimic the Axe mode, and Ghostflame Call on a curved greatsword to mimic the Elemental Discharge of the Sword mode! This build ended up being SUPER powerful against certain bosses AND even other players, so I decided to show off both! Hope you all enjoy!

Ok in fairness, without going Aerial Style on this mf (or using Overhead Stance, which isn't part of the Longsword moveset from MH lol), Great Katana doesn't have a lot of vertical reach on most of its moves 😭
Also, since most of this was recorded from my Twitch stream the quality turned out a little worse than I expected 😭 Hope you all enjoy though! Hopefully this issue is something I can tackle in the future, when I get a beefier setup in my hands

What do you think of gun Lance is it good or bad or ok
I think it's pretty good, defo not the best weapon (though true damage in this game thru shelling can be busted against certain monsters) but one of the most fun right now, imo
If you did the Gunlance training, they give you the bone Gunlance G7 for free. Its actually boosted as hell lol. And in general terms, its shelling ignores defense of the Monster, physical attacks does a lot of damage, and the wyvernstake does a lot of ticks that deals tons of damage and applies elemental and status really well. You can activate Explosion skill with one wyvernstake ez.
Honestly it’s one of the easiest to use without risking getting hit a lot. I just spam the swipe up (stab) attack followed by the tap (shoot) and repeat those two and just keep dodging around and then when I feel like there’s enough time, I do the triple tap which inflicts your aliment or element to the monster and does MASSIVE damage
How do you do the discharge atk? They say you need to slide up and attack, but I never seen to do it right. Edit: hold, slide up,slide up again then tap. The official guide is wrong as it says to slide up only once
Yeah, not sure if the guide mentions this too but you can go from a perfect evade straight into an overhead slam (which leads into full burst) by holding and flicking up, though I'm not sure how practical this is, either
Getting slept by this monster is the worse. When I get slept, I just leave the match.

Thanks! It did take me a few tries, but I'm glad I was able to pull it off! That mercury pool was no joke, I think switching from DB to LS was the right call lol
Nice clear! May want to build up element for monsters like this though. They take around 20% more damage from the element value than they do from your raw value. Currently only deviljho does this, but they may add more monsters that demand element gear Still, you did good! Wish you luck on your further ventures out in the hunt! (Also, not using either the lock on skill or gyro controls can make later hunts tricky, may wanna grab those!)
Fair, yeah! I have elemental sets (a bunch with the Rathian braces, lol) for all the different elements so far, this is mostly just my comfort set lol (concentration & divine blessing are the main ones, plus fashion lol)

Yeah I know the video's crunchy, but it's because I wanted to record straight from my PS2, to experiment a little bit!
