42mm O.D. is what I used due to the break/crack that was already on the crossmember and wanting something I could drive through… In other words, the Sami had been through several owners and probably suffered major flex depending on users habits so I went with a tube that was close to snug but not exact I.D. so I could drive new tube through… I had to use a baby sledge to drive it through as illustrated on video because everything was still on frame and I knew the tube was not going to slide in smoothly… The correct way should have been complete frame removal and tear down to get it straight… This is an “on the go” fix to get my Sami by… Probably confused you more but try a piece of 42mm O.D. (Outside diameter) to check fit…

@@victormeldru that’s actually a pretty good idea but in the meantime if you ever flat tow your Sami long distance just remove your rear drive shaft from transfer case to rear axle, disconnect battery and turn your key to the on position so that your steering turns freely…

If you’re running a 1.6 16v in a Sami you plug in the cable that came off your old alternator that is now on your new alternator back to it’s original connection and run a ground from your new alternator to your battery… I have not done this with the stock engine or any other engine upgrades but can’t imagine it being a whole lot different…

It should be 9.5 to 16.5 foot pounds per repair manual… Use the bolt pattern on video to get them on there evenly… Good luck and thanks for watching

I ran stock gears in my transfer case on 30’s for a while but noticed a significant difference when I swapped in the Sumo 6.4:1 in… Got more bite on my 5th gear (regular driving) and low range is great for climbing and easy on your breaks going down hill…

I’m not a distributor/don’t sell mechanical parts… You may want to contact someone who actually sells this stuff to find out the cost… Many carriers charge differently depending on location… Try eBay… Not too many parts interchange between the Sidekick/Tracker/Vitara and the Samurai but there are a few modifications for the Samurai using Sidekick/Tracker/Vitara… Please note, these are not "direct, bolt-in" type swaps and modifications may be required…

6.4:1 Marked casing 6.4 so I don’t forget what I got in there…
