    When you say it’s costly to have them, can you give me a frame of reference cause I’ve owned animals all my life a lot larger animals and they are costly no matter what you do. You have to be dedicated to that animal. I am very interested. Let me know please what you’re talking about in terms of enclosures basicallythank you

    This would be my second spider. I am still a beginner, so I am wondering if I should even try to get an audax/bold and risk possibly being too slow for it, or just get the regal/regius?

    • @Spooderpods
      @Spooderpods 17 часов назад

      Thats upto you! If you feel more confident with something youre familiar with go for that! Although bolds are generally one of the other easier types as a rule!

      @ Thank you for your response. I previously had a wild caught tan jumping spider that was barely 1cm big. I don’t have experience with any other spider species but I did watch many of yours and others’ videos about Regal and Bold jumpers. Would you still suggest a bold?

  • @newdawn1968

    And no.6 if you own a bird because they are bird food in the wild and i would imagine that your bird especially if they are of good size like an African grey or a cockatoo or even the one that he has would probably love to have those little jumpers for dinner , don't think that for 1 second that if the bird can get to it that it won't attempt to eat it because it's nature at its finest ❤🇺🇸😊

    I cant find the green bottle fly video, if i get a spider i like the idea of feeding flys, it seems like the proper food Could they eat hornworms? My pet store sells crickets, mealworms and hornworms i saw on thier website Also i looked into springtails which i learned from your other video and i found a website that sells three types, two tropical types for cheap like $10 and a spanish orange springtail for like $30, does it matter which one i get?

    • @Spooderpods

I'm raising up a couple of clutches of regius babies who are about 6mm and doing all right in their "nursery" but I can tell they'll need more room in the near future. • @mutanthybrid3466
    @mutanthybrid3466 6 дней назад

    You can do it, but you will often have one suddenly larger spider (as you indicated) that may have injuries. They tend to pull each other's legs off, or drop them when injured, when they fight over territory and they usually fight over territory. I actually tossed every spider I could find into a 20 gallon tank when I was a kid just to see what would happen. The big female wolf spider and jumping spiders ate everything else. The female wolf spider then laid eggs. The jumping spiders tended to avoid the wolf spider easily, but went after each other and all the other spiders.

    • @Spooderpods
      @Spooderpods 5 дней назад

      Always better to give them plenty of space where possible

    • @mutanthybrid3466
      @mutanthybrid3466 5 дней назад

      @@Spooderpods Yeah, it is that way with many predatory species. I raised praying mantises, wolf spiders, had pet tarantulas and of course jumping spiders. What I did as a kid was just a kid's experiment. When you actually have a pet you want to maintain, there is no reason to put other potentially dangerous creatures in with it unless you want to potentially lose the pet.

  • @rodgerwoods4971
    @rodgerwoods4971 6 дней назад

    Some of the most under rated creatures are the best ones... I raised Tarantulas for years, and had many varieties.. Had raised several Goliath bird eaters from adolescent up.. Hard to believe they started out the size of a jumping spider. We kept records of molt cycles in comparison with temperature, humidity, and feeding.. It was very interesting. You definitely have to be committed when having spiders of any form.. Alot of good points you made in this video. They definitely are not cuddly, but they are a interesting creature in personality and color.. 😊

    I didn't really need much convincing not to get one since recently discovering them -- have had some regrettable exotic pet history and am wary of taking on anything I can't fully handle. ♡ Your video convinced me I'm indeed just going to observe others and enjoy them that way. I don't have the money and I am so jumpy that I am worried I would harm/unnerve any spider trying to bond with me, and it would break my heart. I couldn't bear them being stuck in a tank because of my skittishness, so thank you for giving us a way to enjoy them ethically from a distance! ♡ great work and great video. p.s. you're right to include the lifespan in your warning list.. that too would be too constant a heartbreak for me to bear.
