    My turret is fully functional except that it doesnt do any damage or leave bullet decals, do you know what would cause the turret to do no damage?

      Add a custom value under "class info". Click "Smart Edit" which will turn it off. Next you'll see 2 blank boxes on the right. Name it "bullet" (no caps at all). Next make the value 3 Hit Add. You will see it highlighted red in the class info. For some reason the turret will not function unless it has this added value.

    One year later here. But when the sequences didn’t play out. I didn’t really see but some of the animations are gender based. So you need to uncheck “random head” and pick a model so the citizen doesn’t spawn random. (It can be random on the gender).

      Interesting, I actually did not know this as the VDW doesn't say anything about this. Interesting that it is gender based too considering the animations SHOULD work as long as they are under the name NPC class (like civilian). But I suppose thats another crazy hammer thing. Pinning this so others can see incase they also have troubles.

      Yea it’s weird. I bet they didn’t bother to add it because they only used it once at the start for example on one particular npc. Same with the blackout fade in entity. They just reused the vehicle_exit animation with a fader.

    A, to me feels like it serves as the 'simple answer' to the problem, as it seems like the most natural result to the problem at first sight, for most people. But it is when you start to analyze and put more thought to it, like coming up with many similar variations and different scenarios of the problem, that B begins to make more sense. Let's say we're in zero gravity, and the two portals are traveling steadily in straight lines both at the same speed, one faces north and is headed north, the other faces south and headed south. One of the portals is about to 'consume' a stationary floating cube. The answer that is consistent to B with the original problem is suggesting that the cube exits out the other portal at double the speed of the portal coming in. But what would the answer be with regards to A logic? If the cube 'plops' out the other side, wouldn't it just be immediately consumed again and sent back the other way because of the exit portal also moving face-forward? Wouldn't it be constantly plopping out of the two portals back and forth, and if so, why is it that the cube must completely exit one side of the portal before returning back in every iteration? What is the explanation on that? Or does the cube just not enter the portal at all and is pushed along with it? Anyways that was a lot of semi-rhetorical questions, point being, when you mess with the variables of the problem enough, the A answer starts to seem like it is becoming more complex and in most cases, inconsistent with itself.

    the reason i will never go with a is because its a mix of what a should be and b, if going through a portal does not grant momentum the cube would squish, if it does gain momentum then it would be b. a starts as answer b then changes to what ill call answer 1 he moment its all the way through. and then i feel that answer 1 cannot be correct because there shouldnt be anything stopping the cube going through, so through stating how a is wrong then eliminating what it should be only answer b is left and i see no flaws. the relative velocity to the portal stays the same when it goes through. my thought processes ended up being the same as someone with a degree in physics: outoflives.blogspot.com/2012/07/moving-portal-paradox.html the only difference is that they knew the words to use.

      100%. I noticed that as well, that the A answer itself uses the B answer for a split second, as an excuse for the cube to move out of the exit portal, which makes A a really flawed answer. Stationary objects cannot exit out of stationary portals, and if an object is seen exiting a stationary portal, by simple logic it is in motion, which is the very thing that A was trying to avoid.

    Two things: Valve deliberately disabled moving portals in the first game because the physics engine couldn't handle and they couldn't devise a means to resolve it. So technically you're right that in the universe of the game mechanics, it isn't possible. At least until Portal 2 "solves" it, but only in extremely confined scenarios designed for very specific circumstances and can't be arbitrarily used throughout the game--for exactly this reason. The other: frame of reference is important, which you sort of touched on. Technically speaking, there is no such thing as stationary, except in reference to the player's perspective. Relative to the player, anything not moving toward or away from the player could be considered stationary. The moon is moving. The earth is moving. The 'stationary' walls upon which you place your portals are still technically moving through space. It's been addressed and proved that, given the laws of motion, conservation of momentum dictates that any movement, regardless of origin, should be preserved and transferred. Which means it doesn't matter if it's the portal or the cube moving, the motion will be converted once the cube traverses through the portal.

    I feel that option B is correct, this is because when you portal to the moon, your velocity becomes relative to the moons frame of reference despite the fact one portal is travelling 1022m/s relative to the other, if option A was correct, when leaving the moon portal you would start travelling retrograde to the moons orbit. This of course asumes that the moon isn't static.

    For B to happen the introduction of the companion cube into the orange portal must get falling movement of the orange portal to a complete halt, otherwise the final system has more energy than the initial conditions. Since there is no mechanism for the orange portal to stay suspended in the middle of air, A would be the solution

    My answer is B: You exit the portal with combined momentum of yourself and both portals. OR in lames terms: If wall has two portals towards you and you run at the wall 10m/s and the wall move towards you 10m/s you would exit the portal 30m/s going other direction without feeling any acceleration or turning around. Answer can't be A in my opinion.

      ​@@Alex-vz2jz This is a hula hoop argument all again and it is hard to explain with Dyslexia 😁 Experiment 1. Shoot portal to a wall and another portal to moving train. You can now step in to the train without falling just like stepping trough the door. Now open the train's door and jump off, why did you fall when Portals are like Doors and you didn't fall previously? Experiment 2. Shoot portals next to each other and then move the wall towards you and step trough one of the portals. The portal moving towards you is making you enter it faster and if you enter it faster you exit the other portal faster. Also because the exit portal is already moving you have to move faster than that thus you exit faster from moving portal giving you extra speed from both portals. Experiment 3. With a friend both of you stand in front of different portals so you can places your fist trough the portal. Choose which one of you guys extends the arm so only the fist is trough the portal. Now we quickly move the portal closer and back causing the fist to hit the other person. Did you now hit your friend? Conclusion? Did you get anything from that? Probably not ❤ From your point of perspective when one portal is moving it is pretty much no different than moving train. Entering a moving train is same as going trough a moving portal. Exiting a moving train is the same as going exiting the moving portal. Doorway is a doorway -> One side is outdoors moving high speeds to one direction while the ground is still and everything on the ground is left behind quickly. Doorway is a doorway -> Other side is indoors moving the same speed as train and everything is moving with you including all passengers. It is all about perspective! Sadly not all people are able to think about how one side can be moving while other side is not moving -> Train door is moving from other side while standing still on other side 👍 Shooting portal inside a train and a office building would allow you to step in and out of the train like normal front door even tough the train is moving high speeds.

      ​​​​@@Alex-vz2jzIt doesn't - When the portal's are positioned on opposite sides of the platform (a true doorway) and accelerating towards you, you will remain stationary/no momentum needs to be conserved in this circumstance. But what happens if instead of a doorway, you just have an entrance that is moving, with a stationary exit some place else at a different angle? The entrance and exit no longer agree on their acceleration and most importantly the exit doesn't see the cube as stationary, it sees the cube as accelerating towards the entrance at the same rate the entrance is accelerating towards the cube. And since the exit portal isn't moving at the same rate relative to the entrance portal but from the opposite orientation relative to itself the way it would as a doorframe, it's no longer -X (+) +X . Momentum needs to be conserved and will be applied to the cube upon exit.

    A is flat wrong B or C are the answer. We are right now moving at 1500 km/hr as the earth rotates around its axis. The only thing that makes sense for. A not C answer is the frame of reference to the portal.

    Saying the ground is a stationary object is very naive when you know it's on planet earth that is moving at high speeds across the universe. When thinking with portals in this way you need to think about it in a bigger scale which is impossible without relativity. You can say something is stationary reletive to the earth but why should a portal care if it's on earth or on the moon. We clearly see it doesnt since you can place it on the moon. Also about the glados quote. The portal cant affect the velocity of an object. This is true because the portals are always stationary relative to the earth. But if you expand this and allow portals to move, you need to upgrade the quote a bit. A portal can not change the relative velocity between the portal and the object. Now this is something that sounds more accurate and less simplified. So why wouldn't glados say that for lore reasons? Well glados doesnt see chell as someone super smart that would care about details like that so glados would just simplify it.

    @4:50 I mean, when Venom Snake was still the Medic he lived and worked on Mother Base along with the rest of the soldiers. Despite having his memories overwritten by psychotherapy i think his humanity is still buried in his subconscious. His attitude about killing people isnt just cold and calculated, it always seems like he genuinely is sad about having to get the job done.     I just beat this game on Veteren difficulty after beating mw3 on Hardened. I plan to go back to every old title and complete every achievement for the campaigns and complete all on veteren. But Mw2 has to be my second favorite campaign after WaW. It truly gets your heart pumping on Veteren, forcing you to deal with every threat as fast as possible. Every breaching sequence becomes a life or death matter if you cant clear the room fast enough, and you truly feel like you're fighting an overwhelming force. Honestly one of the most intense and best single player experiences of all time.

    Just because no one sees it never made it a pointless objective. It's actually a long running theme in the world that we live in, there are lots of things that had happened, lots of sacrifices, by people who we will never know the name of. But the reason it DOES matter, and why these stories matter to us, means much more to how people can really be, and who they really are. Just because no one in THEIR world doesn't know about these things, doesn't mean it won't affect the world, nor will people NEVER find out. Like you said, it is mirroring US: The player. Why? Because most of us will be just as insignificant and ignored as you see Big Boss being, that being said, they're goals, were for people who they cared about, the whole story of Big Boss and Zero are because these 2 boys who essentially lost their mother figure were trying to envision her dream and both made mistakes along the way. Think about it. Us... every individual here, there are too many of us to ever be recognized by any mass of the world, sometimes you may get your chance at fame, have your name be heard. But people will still never know much about you or your battles in life, even if you made it loud enough. Although there are people who words like this are enough to make em think or remember that life is meaningless to them... In reality... every person has the power to change the course of history. That is... if you are willing to put the effort and hold hope in the darkest of times... I've had many years of sleepless nights to think of this more and more, and every night it gets progressively more intense with now having to stay up in the silence of nights... It isn't impossible to change the world... you just have to hold such a burning hot fire... it isn't impossible for anyone to achieve it, the only thing stopping you... is that damn way your brain works. Afterall, this is some random story created by some random japanese dude who was out for a job in the videogame industry yet years later was betrayed, backstabbed and shamed by the same company that got successful from his work... Not like his story ever mattered, right?

    Has anyone also mentioned that he misuses the terms “dominant” and “recessive” means different things in the world of genetics? It was the Recessive genes that made big boss a formidable warrior. “Recessive” genes, are less common- more unique. Which is what made BigBoss. “Dominant” genes, are dominant because they’re more common, nothing special really. Which is what SolidSnake is compromised of. Speaking of snake, despite being dubbed the “inferior” clone, he bested LiquidSnake in MGS1 I believe, because he EARNED those skills, he lived a hard life and trained even harder and overcame impossible odds in spite of his genetic limitations. Poor liquid does not only never realizing he was genetically superior but, if current canon stands, never met the real big boss (only venom snake)i In MGS1’s defense I believe the dominant/recessive terminology was an error due to localization. Even I thought Dominant/recessive terms were correct until a few years ago. Again, apologies if the whole dominant/recessive bits were already mentioned.

      It should also be noted that in Portable Ops, Peace Walker, and 5 that Snake isn't even the strongest soldier. Null/Grey Fox has more life points (giving him slightly better survivability.) In Peace Walker Snake's rank in the combat unit (viewable when selecting who to play as) is only A while it is possible to get soldiers who have an S rank, they can also have a higher life and psych value than Snake, essentially making them better suited for combat. Similarly in 5, Venom's grade in the combat unit is A++ with the highest possible rank being S++. My personal headcanon is that Medic was an S rank in both combat and medical in Peace Walker and became an A++ in 5 due to being molded to be more like Big Boss. (That or S in Peace Walker is only considered A++ by 5's standards.)

    How do I use func_tank I tried following the way ur doing it in this tutorial but I’m having trouble on that part , that command doesn’t show up when I search for it

      func_tank is a brush based entity, try placing down a brush and assigning it as func_tank. Otherwise make sure your in a branch of hammer that supports it, such as TF2's hammer won't have func_tank, as the game doesnt use that variable.

      @@spacemanjohnathan4092 would you know if func_tank works for hammer on Gmod ? Or is func_tank not supported for Gmod ?

      @@Xyz_xyz712 func_tank should be supported on Gmod as several TTT maps use it. However, it might have a different brush to streamline stuff. You could get a BSP decompiler in maps on Gmod that use func_tanks (which would just be a controllable turret like in the video), and see how they did it as well.

    If they didn't waste time making such a terrible online multiplayer nobody really enjoyed they could have and would have finished the story mode and likely added plenty more to it and made it bigger and add more cutscenes. Imagine the remake of mgs v and what it could be, knowing that they won't need to waste time making the online competitive multilayer. They could finally finish it and please add more boss battles.
