Nice find. Could have some unique uses.
Aliexpress and Temu do have some unique finds that are worth grabbing. I'm not sure when or if I'll use it but I have it for the occasion.
would you recommend library for it? It seems our version the same as yours and not function as it should be.
It should work out of the box without needing a library. The sample sketches in the Arduino IDE should help.
@@britishtechguru Thank you for response. Reason I have asked, we have tried some esp32 libraries that gave error. That`s why asked, what board type needs to be chosen.
@serkanozkani It should be possible to identify the board type by looking at the small text on the board. My ESP32 boards are: ESP32 CH340C Development Board Wifi+Bluetooth Ultra Low Power Core Type-C Lot US ESP32 NodeMCU Development Board ESP32-Dev Kit 38 PIN Expansion WiFi Bluetooth I'm not sure which is in the video but it'll be one of those two. Both came from eBay.
@@britishtechguru Thank you very much!
@@serkanozkani You're welcome. I hope I was at least of some help.
When in doubt, ohm it out. I've had to replace a few of these in a moisture rich environment and they're generally quite robust components.
I'm going to put together a simple door unlocking mechanism using one of these and an ATTiny13.
@@britishtechguru not a bad idea. Obviously there are moisture and temperature considerations but I'm pretty sure you've already considered those.
It'll be about 3 feet off the ground behind a splashguard underneath a vehicle. Any wet will just drip straight down. There will be a housing.
don’t forget the CD4021E sh*t roat regter
LOL. Yes. This is absolutely hilarious.
ask it how many "r"s are in the word strawberry
That was mildly entertaining.... You said: how many rs are in strawberry ChatGPT said: ChatGPT There are three "r"s in the word "strawberry." You said: how many "r"s are in the word strawberry ChatGPT said: ChatGPT There are two "r"s in the word "strawberry." It gave me the right answer then a wrong answer. Very weird. It's baffling that so much money is being invested in something that shows so little promise.
There isn’t a high enough forward bias voltage when using that setting with a resistor in series. If you use a diode setting and bypass the resistor, it will overcome the 0.7 forward bias needed to begin conducting.
Ah. I don't think any of my meter have a diode setting.
You need a meter with a diode setting.
I have 3 meters and no diode setting.
@@britishtechguru Usually the diode function is combined with the continuity beep. However in the video I could not find that setting on your meter.
I have 3 meters plus a pocket oscilloscope. Maybe I should do a comparison video between them. That'd be interesting.
How did you prove it
I did a video where I put a known 20W panel beside it and compared the two and compared the output of the two using two identical wattmeters. I showed the missing label on the back of the fake panel and the actual label on the back of the real panel.
The little arrow....Try the socket directly opposite the power jack, the one you are using is made for a tone input.
I'll do that. Thanks. It would have been so nice if the Chinese had included instructions - even if they were in Chinese.
@@britishtechguru haha, yes I only figured it out by looking at a few pictures that some of the sellers use on a few of the ads. Fairly typical AliExpress experience. ;)
@@m3chanist I've just tried pounding out SOS on all 3 of the ports to no avail. I'll have to check that my button is working now, I guess. I might even have to connect a relay to a microcontroller to send a real message and see if it works.
That’s trained to produce art lol
That's about all it does.
bro you need to wet the stone😂
Thanks a lot for this video! This is my first printer and I had the same problem and no clue on how to solve it. You saved me some money, keep up the good work. Cheers!
I managed to unblock the nozzle but haven't yet got back to doing any printing. I get maybe a couple of hours at weekends only.
Can you make a small jet engine
I don't have a machine shop capable of producing the parts nor do I currently have much in the way of machining skills but given time and the equipment it might be possible. It was not, however, something that I was planning. It's interesting though. I almost went with a small machine shop but went for a 3D printer instead.
Why?
It took me forever to find things before. Now it should be faster. I also didn't have a list of what was in each tray. Now I do (of the trays I have sorted) so now I can see at a glance whether a project will be a day or a couple of weeks while I wait for parts.
They know how expensive it is so they’ve reduced the flow rate.😂
Seems like it! I want to go somewhere and this thing is holding me up. I'd be insane if i had to wait for a slot car to charge.
I always keep a couple handy.
I bought a pack of 10. I thought about doing a giant LED clock but I'm thinking of an ATTiny13 traffic light setup now.
if I'm being 100% honest with everyone in this comment section, I had no idea that locks and lockpicks were different depending on region, I'm sorry if that's ignorant I hope you All have a good day and everyone please remember, the world is a much better place with you in it, much love, peace ✌️
I was joking about the Chinese licks being different. I bought this set of picks a week or two back and my first attempts at picking easy locks were a failure. In the manner of the bad workman, I blamed the tools lol The real lockpickinglawyer could pick those locks with an orange.
So you aren't allowed to have tactical camping machetes
They banned quite a few knives. They found the street gangs used knives since guns are hard to get,
@@britishtechguru well here in the states you can't have brass knuckles or collapsible metal batons but in some states (mine included) you can conceal carry with no type of permit.
They ban most things in Britain. They banned the metafuel blocks from camping stoves as well.
@@jameswilliams6468 Under UK law you cannot carry any weapon where you might reasonably be expected to need to use it.
I want to blame the gov but its the people reporting others
That’s been the constant propaganda drip… see it, report it
You did not explain that well. r u saying the kitchen knife is ok to carry ?
No knife is OK to carry in Britain. Merely being discovered to be in possession of a camping knife merits jail time now. So if you have one and somebody sees it and reports it (which they will if they see it because people have been trained to be snitches for the last 30+ years) then if it's found when the police arrive (no warrant needed in Britain) then it's jail time.
It wasn't obvious. Thank you!
I love your accent and enjoy your content, but please enunciate a slight bit more. My yank ears have a hard time keeping up.
I do my best but I think my phone is just having a hard time. Mind, stuff filmed indoors is challenging as my electronics lab is usually at 102F during the summer. Sweat literally pours off me. What you're hearing is me talking through exhaustion in the heat. I'll try harder. I have to make 7 more videos for this week. I'll make those tomorrow. The first of those (and I'll speak louder and more clearly) will be in the afternoon on the 4th. I'm behind with videos at the moment due to the heat.
Can i a power it with a bigger solar panel? I have a capstone project and I need some help of advice.
Check on the voltage and the power of the solar panel and the voltage range of the converter on the Arduino. The book says 6-20v. I used a 6v 15ma solar panel just to turn the R3 LED on. You can easily use a bigger panel. I would suggest something like a 6V 5W panel. That should run an R3 and a circuit quite well though only when there's sufficient light. I have a project using a 100ma solar panel that transmits an SOS in Morse code via shortwave radio frequencies. That uses an ATTiny85.
@@britishtechguru I will not going going to use R3 but instead a Esp8266
@@AnimeCentral-v9z That will need a 5v voltage regulator. The R3 has one built in.
tutorial?
I could do one. I'm thinking about doing an LED traffic light with an ATTiny13.
What does it say?
Can't remember now. That bread card just failed so I'm rebuilding with a different system.
This is genius! 💯
Love these tips n tricks videos! 😂❤
Please do more videos like this? 😊😎
I do them when I think of them
Absolute bollocks 😂😂
I prefer books as I'm often well away from an internet connection
No butter? 😅
You can check if resistors are good or not with a multimeter theres a option on it and videos on yt that can explain it better than i can hope this helps keep posting good channel
I'll have to recheck everything as I've forgotten what I've checked so far. Working my wicked schedule does that to me! (5:45AM to 4:15pm with a 3 1/4 hour break in the middle). And I've been working in excessive heat recently. Thanks for your complements. I feel my channel is more me bumbling about doing things that interest me than any particular plan. I'm not pretentious and won't ever make false claims. I'm very pleased when something works. More often than not it doesn't and I end up making videos exploring why it doesn't work. I think it's probably accurate to say this is a genuine channel rather than a flashy, showy channel.
Wait if you're Zaphod, where's the second head? Are you just another one of those celebrity impersonators!?
I had to mortgage the other head back in the 80s in order to pay Thatcher's taxes.
@@britishtechguru Yeah, that tracks.
How did you get the original hose off?
As far as I recall, the end of the hose was wrapped tightly by wire that I untwisted with a pair of pliers. You won't lose much if you just cut the hose to get the old broken connector off.
Like @vafasadrif12 said, you can translate bytes instead of storing c-strings. Personally I'd get rid of the class because I feel like that's going to make it harder for the compiler to optimize this. If you're extremely memory constrained you could use CPU cycles to translate characters into morse code instead of storing a lookup table in memory.
I almost went for a really simple solution - writing a python program to generate the C++ code for sending messages as a series of switches and delays. In psuedocode that would look like.... repeat code port on delay port off delay port on delay port off
You mean milli amps?
down to 1/100 of an amp
@@britishtechguru mA is milli amps. 1/100 of an amp is 10 milliamp
I'll try to remember. I don't guarantee I will. I'm a bit sloppy with technical terms to be honest.
Having your morse code mappings as a member field and then instantiating that class could get the program to have two copies of the array, to fix this you can declare morse_code[] as a static member, also having 26 separate strings means 26 pointers and each pointer takes 8 bytes so you might wanna stick all of your strings together and read the desired section with proper padding and this could save you around 200 bytes, something like this: const char* mappings = ".-00-...-.-." Where the zero characters act as padding and represent empty space , or you could even have 4 bits of a byte represent a dash or a dot and the other 4 bits to represent the length of the sequence which reduces the space demand to only 26 bytes, this one is a bit more complicated but i would be glad to help implementing it
I'll have a go at implementing different code either tonight or over the weekend. Apparently getting rid of Arduino delay(), digitalWrite() etc. and using direct port access saved over 300 bytes. Putting the strings into progmem saved a lot too. As of now it compiles nicely on the IDE with plenty spare storage. The question is what happens when I put it into an ATTiny13. I just hope my ATTiny85 programmer will work for the ATTiny13.
Thank you
It's really weird that what's going on in these magazines these days
I rather suspect the photographers are going for dark moody images just like they were in movies which is why and when I quit movies. A total lack of editorial control means they produce arty farty stuff that nobody wants.
Oh yes😂😂, totally agree with you
Most magazines now are just a scam to get money from advertisers.
So in essence self censorship is the way to go, gotcha, bored now bye
Same as in the USA. Try posting negative comments about your employer and see how long it takes before they become a former employer. Two people did that at my job. They vanished quickly. It's called covering your arse.

@@chris101gray3 The video quality is horrendous. The sound lags several seconds behind. It lacks definition. It lacks clarity. It's a toy camera for undiscerning pre-teens. Here's what it did for me: ruclips.net/video/dDCcDSB_ZSA/видео.html
Nice
I bought the wide ones to try. I have some smaller boards they'll be great for but the 40 pin Zifs are pretty costly. $10 for 5 or $3.50 each. I'll probably buy 5 and see where that leads or if I stick with female headers instead.
Is that an xt90 connection?
I believe it’s an xt60 though 6A is all it’ll be taking.
