I mean it's illegal to split the lanes but in a lot of accidents bikers are hit from behind I always split ... my safety is more inportant to me then some idiot not seeing me ..

I too ride by this rule. Place yourself where other drivers can see you. Anticipate what may happen, even if it doesn't happen. My next bike, I want the Rebel 1000

Yo Eric, I forgot to comment on your video when it came out. Better late than never. LOL. I'm a fellow SA Peep and I'm on the Southside of town. Anyways, great video and cool that you got some gloves. I had gotten my helmet, gloves and jacket from Cycle Gear. That sucks that dude cut you off just because he was in a hurry and you almost get hit by the 18-wheeler. Yeah, you sure have to be on the lookout at those intersections and yes, loose gravel on those turns can me so tricky. Fun Fact, the day you posted this video. That weekend I actually rode my scooter to my older sister's house at that sub-division where Burger Boys at all the way from the Southside. It was my first time riding that distance through the back streets to her house. I was a little nervous since I'm not use to riding around that part of city but the ride to and from was good. I ride a Kymco People S 150 scooter and I've been only riding about two years now. Anyways, I've enjoyed your past videos as well. I can't wait for a new one to come out. Be safe on the roads.

oh man, cover your organs. Just trust me, if you hit cement even at that slow speed you will have alot of scarrings and possible grafting needed. U got a new bike, a gopro, but no gear? and clearly you are learning to ride like myself... there is alot of things we got to improve on, a very simple way to get better and feel comfortable taking bigger risks is by wearing proper gear.... even the best people go down.. sometimes it is inevitable... you can mitigate injury with proper gear..Every person i know who has had a short life could have been prevented with safety precautions... There is a lack of safety in the biking Community in America already... u know out of your subscribers, highly likely 1 of us has had life changing injury. I am not a subscriber but i can say i had a almost life changing bicycle incident this year at slow speeds.. thrown right onto my head.. I do not think people without a helmet would have walked away. I did all I could with precautions, and still just not paying attention for a split second and I was hit. Imagine I wasnt considered about the safety. Do you think I would be here typing? I don't. Ride safe brother.

Funny comments here. To Control a bike in and out of a turn you counter steer. You learned this from childhood riding a bicycle. And you countersteer at every speed from walking speed. There is no speed at which you change from «direct steering» to counter steering. You ALWAYS initiate a lean by countersteering.
