I had an old school collector friend I met as a kid at a gun show. Very large collection I’ve seen many times built a building on his property to display it. Known as a German helmet collector with pictures of his things in reference books. He has since past on as we all got older. I do always remember him telling me very young if I didn’t have a fake in my collection I hadn’t been collecting long enough, and anything SS was fake to start with and you needed prove right first before buying 😊

aw man, that happened to my Japanese sake cups too... If you get one of those watery superglues, you should be able to puzzle them back quite nicely though. Apply a small bit with a q-tip. That's what I do.

I actually bought a HJ knife from you and I'm in the UK and I think it was labelled as "utility knife" and that got through although customs kept it for a week iirc. they get very funny about people buying any kind of edged pieces modern or historical sadly so I don't bother with it any more.

I partially agree with your first statement but it is not racist to not want your people, your culture and your history to be marginalized and destroyed by a migrant horde. Look at Sweden, rape cases went up 100% in the last 30 years, at the same time the demographic shifted due to immigration.

I know this is Reddick's whole thing, and I know this might sound harsh, but I do wish he went out of business, or like another commenter commented, marked all his stuff as repro. This man is single handedly indirectly responsible for like 30% of the fakes out there. Plus stuff that's impossible to authenticate, like cloth EKIs are made even worse thanks to this man's business, as well as him trying to make things look as authentic as possible.

I really do not like when replicas are specifically made to be indistinguishable from originals, it does make me uneasy about buying items even down to an EK. If someone is making an obvious fake and stating it as such then to me thats absolutely fine as there is reenactors etc.

i think all reproductions should HAVE to HAVE a mark hat indicates it is a repro. like a circle with a R in the middle deep stamped on metal ......other means on items [paper , cloth , etc. ] ....this could be at least an attempt to help the new or unknowing person who might be getting screwed and , to see its true value .bunches of crap out here that can fool , and sometimes take the innocent buyer for a bunch of coin .

I will also say that at least he is flat out stating that it's a reproduction. I give him credit for not trying to sell these as authentic because we do know many that do the same as he is, but blatantly lie and represent fakes and repos as authentic.

I have purchased Repo, just to fill in my display storyline gaps... till I can afford, or find real on the market.., only concern is stuff gets construed as real on the market...gotta research stuff before purchase...buyer beware
