Hi. I graduated in December 2023: I had applied for my EAD around October and received the EAD by the end of November. Check the ‘Documents’ section in your USCIS account if you see any Approval Notice.

Unfortunately, there is no way to track FICA refund online. You can try to call IRS at 267-941-1000 to know your status.It might take up to 12 weeks to get your refund. I would suggest you to keep a track on your bank account as well.

If you have filed it correctly, you will definitely get it. They mention it as 12 weeks so don’t worry!

To be honest, at this time you shouldn’t trust this much exactly. But I would suggest you to check the ‘Documents’ section in your USCIS account. You might see an Approval notice there based on when you applied for EAD.

You don’t need to attach anything in “Previously Authorised CPT or OPT” because you didn’t have an internship and there’s a separate section to upload your Regular OPT I-20.

Hi. You DON’T need to upload it anywhere. You can check the status on IRS after your documents reach the address. The status usually updates after 1-2 weeks after your documents are received! This article by IRS might help: www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc301#:~:text=Your%20return%20is%20considered%20filed,your%20return%20is%20filed%20timely. It says “Your return is considered filed on time if the envelope is properly addressed, has enough postage, is postmarked, and is deposited in the mail by the due date.” I hope this helps!

If you refer to my previous reply, you can get an idea. I know the language is not clear enough. But I ASSUME that it means if you go to post office to mail the documents before the due date, and even if it reaches after the due date, you should be good because technically you sent it before the due date. To relieve you further, you can file Federal Tax returns within 3 years of the due date ONLY IF YOU ARE GETTING A REFUND: www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/filing-past-due-tax-returns I’m not sure about the INDIANA to be honest. Does this clarify your doubt?

Even though the Federal and State deadline is 15th April, the deadline for filing for FICA refund is within 2 years of paying the tax or within 3 years from the date the Tax Return was filed. Unfortunately, you cannot efile this form. Hi..I think that it would not be a good idea to leave it blank. I would suggest you to contact your department regarding this. If you don’t hear back from them, I think you can put the information of DSO on your I-20. This is what GLACIER software does!!

Hey Joshua. That’s right. $3,000 is the maximum amount you can claim as Renter’s Deduction. So if the rent you paid in 2023 in Indiana is $4,320, enter $4,320 in ‘amount of rent paid’ but $3,000 where is says ‘Enter the lesser of $3,000 or amount of rent paid.’

You can attach the entire page of the W-2 if all copies are on the same page. You can take printouts of your W-2. Or you can even cut respective copies (Copy B for Federal and Copy 2 for state) if you want to.
