Installed new injectors orings and that didn't solve my problem so I got new injectors from swamps and truck worked perfectly . Fuel contamination was the culprit.

    • @johndowe7003
      @johndowe7003 9 месяцев назад

      Yes, it held up just fine. I drive the truck everyday. On the non waste gate 7.3s (95.5-1998?) They need 55-60psi at idle.90-100psi at WOT. Most guys shoot for 75psi at idle. From what I've researched a higher fuel pressure will help with cooling the injectors and should make things run better.

    • @johndowe7003
      @johndowe7003 6 месяцев назад

      yes if i was to re do it, i would rtv the fiber board to the distributor. a gasket works decent but isnt 100% water tight. if you run the petronix module it doesnt need to be watertight since its a sealed unit. but if you run points with the round coil then yes id make it water tight, since it will arc out and your tractor wont run right

    • @johndowe7003
      @johndowe7003 Год назад

      If you removed the pump without the timing marks aligned, turn the motor over with a breaker bar until you see the timing mark on the gear on the pump drive side of the engine. Then turn the pump over by hand until the gear matches. Careful because you can get it off by a tooth very easily. The pump does move around but from what I saw it doesn't work like a timing Advance on a old dizzy. You have to get the gears meshed just right.

    For others watching-you can also do the “BB” mod instead of purchasing the $25 spring. The “BB” mod is adding a BB to the end of the spring to make the spring “longer” - Ill be doing this to my 7.3 and make a video showing the steps. I think a better/newer spring is the best solution but Im still troubleshooting to see my low pressure issue.

      Take your fuel hose apart and blow some air into the blue supply line. The pickup in the tank tends to get clogged up and restricts flow. I took all that crap off my truck and did the harpoon mod . I'd start there then get the spring changed out. Also there's a screen on your FPR you can clean as well that also restricts fuel flow

      @@johndowe7003 I would say you are correct about the stuck injector!!! Bad injectors will cause white smoke because they are not addimizing the fuel properly and raw liquid fuel is making its way into the exaust and is burning like oil does!!! Oil burns white and Diesel is closer to crude so it is "oily". Keep Rocking It Out!!!
